and_o that_o many_o thing_n may_v be_v unthankful_o faithful_a do_v against_o god_n such_o be_v the_o prayer_n or_o rather_o much_o lip_n labour_n to_o little_a purpose_n of_o all_o they_o which_o defend_v idol_n and_o manifest_a error_n but_o the_o godly_a one_o as_o david_n in_o this_o place_n do_v worship_n the_o father_n in_o spirit_n 23._o and_o truth_n that_o be_v do_v bring_v with_o their_o prayer_n true_a acknowledgement_n of_o the_o essence_n of_o god_n and_o a_o consideration_n of_o the_o commandment_n and_o promise_n wherein_o god_n make_v his_o will_n know_v and_o they_o know_v what_o benefit_n god_n will_v give_v we_o without_o condition_n and_o wherein_o he_o will_v require_v obedience_n furthermore_o they_o acknowledge_v and_o bewail_v their_o sin_n &_o yet_o with_o faith_n they_o vanquish_v doudting_n believe_v that_o though_o they_o be_v unworthy_a of_o themselves_o yet_o for_o the_o mediator_n sake_n they_o be_v and_o shall_v be_v hear_v final_o in_o the_o prayer_n of_o the_o godly_a one_o there_o be_v a_o consonancy_n of_o the_o mind_n will_n heart_n and_o tongue_n than_o which_o harmony_n none_o can_v be_v think_v more_o sweet_a let_v this_o difference_n between_o true_a and_o hypocritical_a prayer_n be_v often_o consider_v in_o the_o psalm_n when_o indeed_o it_o bring_v some_o light_n unto_o the_o read_n of_o the_o psalm_n now_o think_v with_o yourself_o how_o fervent_a david_n prayer_n be_v hear_v say_v he_o my_o prayer_n o_o god_n and_o with_o that_o he_o add_v this_o as_o it_o be_v strive_v with_o doubt_v hide_v not_o thyself_o from_o my_o petition_n yea_o and_o he_o require_v god_n to_o take_v heed_n unto_o he_o take_v heed_n unto_o i_o and_o hear_v i_o and_o lest_o any_o man_n shall_v think_v that_o david_n be_v cold_a or_o go_v about_o some_o other_o thing_n in_o time_n of_o his_o pray_n he_o affirm_v express_o that_o he_o will_v rule_v his_o motion_n in_o the_o same_o prayer_n that_o be_v he_o will_v crave_v of_o god_n with_o most_o fervent_a desire_n and_o with_o all_o his_o heart_n benefit_n necessary_a both_o for_o his_o soul_n and_o his_o body_n but_o why_o do_v he_o make_v mention_n of_o be_v vex_v bere_o because_o he_o will_v signify_v that_o he_o feel_v outward_a fear_n inward_a fight_n 2._o cor._n 7._o and_o do_v not_o only_o strive_v with_o external_a danger_n wherein_o his_o body_n be_v exercise_v but_o also_o with_o fear_n and_o deiection_n rise_v from_o acknowledgement_n of_o sin_n and_o of_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n for_o most_o common_o the_o enemy_n threaten_n and_o the_o conflict_n of_o conscience_n strive_v with_o sin_n and_o with_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n do_v come_v together_o in_o one_o object_n but_o these_o thing_n be_v often_o time_n repeat_v and_o set_v forth_o in_o the_o psalm_n therefore_o i_o be_o now_o more_o brief_a herein_o verse_n 3_o the_o enemy_n cry_v so_o and_o the_o ungodly_a come_v on_o so_o fast_o for_o they_o be_v mind_v to_o do_v i_o some_o mischief_n so_o malicious_o be_v they_o set_v against_o i_o verse_n 4_o my_o heart_n be_v disquiet_v within_o i_o and_o the_o fear_n of_o death_n be_v fall_v upon_o i_o verse_n 5_o fearfulness_n &_o tremble_a what_o thing_n do_v he_o suffer_v for_o there_o be_v three_o instrument_n or_o mean_n to_o learn_v divine_a thing_n by_o meditation_n prayer_n and_o temptation_n for_o the_o scripture_n deliver_v from_o god_n need_v no_o temptation_n allegory_n but_o contemplation_n and_o understanding_n see_v then_o we_o suffer_v such_o like_a thing_n such_o complaint_n become_v more_o sweet_a in_o taste_n with_o we_o which_o be_v every_o where_o extant_a in_o the_o psalm_n verse_n 6_o and_o i_o say_v o_o that_o i_o have_v wing_n like_o a_o dove_n for_o than_o will_v i_o flee_v away_o and_o be_v at_o rest_n verse_n 7_o lo_o then_o will_v i_o get_v i_o away_o far_o off_o and_o remain_v in_o the_o wilderness_n verse_n 8_o i_o will_v make_v haste_n to_o escape_v because_o of_o the_o stormy_a wind_n and_o tempest_n he_o add_v unto_o the_o complain_n a_o prayer_n of_o flee_v away_o will_v to_o god_n say_v he_o i_o may_v be_v separate_v afar_o off_o from_o my_o false_a and_o unfaithful_a friend_n which_o lie_v in_o wait_n for_o i_o night_n and_o day_n and_o be_v bend_v upon_o all_o occasion_n whereby_o they_o may_v overthrow_v and_o oppress_v i_o after_o the_o same_o manner_n all_o the_o holy_a one_o desire_v to_o be_v dissolve_v and_o to_o be_v with_o christ_n phil._n 1._o 23._o that_o be_v desire_v a_o more_o sincere_a behold_v of_o god_n and_o full_a and_o perfect_a deliverance_n from_o sin_n for_o like_a as_o a_o traveler_n make_v his_o journey_n in_o the_o dark_a know_v neither_o the_o way_n nor_o the_o place_n where_o he_o go_v rejoice_v when_o the_o morning_n begin_v to_o wax_v light_n so_o all_o the_o godly_a one_o feel_v the_o burden_n of_o sin_n and_o strive_v with_o diverse_a danger_n do_v desire_n to_o have_v fellowship_n with_o god_n and_o be_v call_v to_o the_o to_o the_o godly_a one_o i_o pass_v on_o therefore_o unto_o the_o verse_n follow_v verse_n 9_o destroy_v their_o tongue_n o_o lord_n and_o divide_v they_o for_o i_o have_v spy_v unrighteousnesle_n and_o strife_n in_o the_o city_n verse_n 10_o day_n and_o night_n they_o go_v about_o within_o the_o wall_n thereof_o mischief_n also_o and_o sorrow_n be_v in_o the_o mid_n of_o it_o verse_n 11_o wickedness_n be_v therein_o deceit_n and_o guile_n go_v not_o out_o of_o their_o street_n see_v we_o must_v needs_o be_v conversant_a in_o the_o world_n as_o it_o be_v in_o medea_n bosom_n even_o
