whereas_o it_o shall_v appear_v that_o no_o christian_n in_o the_o world_n give_v more_o unto_o the_o same_o then_o we_o and_o that_o in_o very_a truth_n the_o cause_n that_o we_o maintain_v be_v have_v power_n for_o any_o crime_n whatsoever_o to_o deprive_v the_o king_n of_o the_o least_o of_o his_o royal_a prerogative_n whatsoeer_n much_o less_o to_o deprive_v he_o of_o his_o supremacy_n wherein_o the_o height_n of_o his_o royal_a dignity_n consist_v 7._o we_o hold_v that_o in_o all_o thing_n concern_v this_o life_n whatsoever_o the_o civil_a jurisdiction_n of_o king_n and_o civil_a of_o their_o supremacy_n have_v power_n yea_o also_o that_o they_o stand_v bind_v by_o the_o law_n of_o god_n to_o make_v law_n ecclesiastical_a such_o as_o shall_v tend_v to_o the_o good_a order_n of_o the_o church_n in_o their_o dominion_n and_o that_o the_o church_n ought_v not_o to_o be_v disobedient_a to_o any_o of_o their_o law_n so_o far_o as_o in_o obedience_n unto_o they_o they_o do_v not_o that_o which_o be_v contrary_a to_o the_o word_n of_o god_n 9_o we_o hold_v that_o though_o the_o king_n shall_v command_v any_o thing_n contrary_a to_o the_o word_n unto_o the_o church_n that_o yet_o they_o ought_v not_o to_o resist_v he_o therein_o but_o only_o peaceable_o to_o forbear_v obedience_n and_o sue_v unto_o he_o for_o grace_n and_o mercy_n and_o where_o that_o can_v be_v obtain_v meek_o to_o submit_v themselves_o to_o the_o punishment_n 10._o we_o hold_v that_o the_o king_n have_v power_n by_o virtue_n of_o his_o supremacy_n to_o remove_v out_o of_o the_o church_n whatsoever_o he_o shall_v discern_v to_o be_v practise_v therein_o not_o agreeable_a to_o the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o if_o he_o shall_v see_v any_o defect_n either_o in_o the_o worship_n of_o god_n or_o in_o the_o ecclesiastical_a discipline_n he_o ought_v by_o his_o royal_a authority_n and_o power_n to_o procure_v and_o force_v the_o redress_n thereof_o yea_o though_o it_o be_v without_o the_o consent_n and_o against_o the_o will_n of_o the_o ecclesiastical_a governor_n themselves_o 11._o we_o hold_v that_o the_o king_n have_v as_o much_o authority_n over_o the_o body_n good_n and_o affair_n of_o ecclesiastical_a person_n as_o of_o any_o other_o of_o his_o subject_n whatsoever_o and_o that_o by_o his_o authority_n he_o may_v force_v they_o not_o only_o to_o all_o civil_a duty_n belong_v unto_o they_o but_o also_o unto_o ecclesiastical_a afflict_v as_o great_a punishment_n upon_o they_o for_o the_o neglect_n thereof_o as_o upon_o any_o other_o of_o his_o subject_n 12._o we_o hold_v that_o he_o have_v power_n to_o remove_v out_o of_o the_o church_n all_o scandalous_a schismatical_a and_o heretical_a teacher_n and_o by_o all_o due_a severity_n of_o law_n to_o repress_v they_o 13._o we_o hold_v that_o all_o ecclesiastical_a law_n make_v by_o the_o king_n not_o repugnant_a to_o the_o word_n of_o god_n do_v in_o some_o sort_n bind_v the_o conscience_n of_o his_o subject_n and_o that_o no_o subject_a aught_o to_o refuse_v obedience_n to_o any_o such_o law_n 14._o we_o hold_v that_o the_o king_n only_o have_v power_n within_o his_o dominion_n to_o convene_v synod_n or_o general_a assembly_n of_o minister_n and_o by_o his_o authority_n royal_a to_o ratify_v and_o give_v life_n and_o strength_n to_o their_o canon_n and_o constitution_n without_o who_o ratification_n no_o man_n can_v force_v any_o subject_n to_o yield_v any_o obedience_n unto_o the_o same_o 15._o we_o hold_v that_o though_o the_o king_n may_v force_v the_o church_n to_o be_v subject_a and_o obedient_a unto_o he_o and_o to_o be_v member_n of_o the_o commonwealth_n yet_o that_o the_o church_n several_o or_o joint_o have_v no_o power_n to_o force_v he_o or_o any_o subject_a against_o their_o will_n to_o any_o service_n unto_o they_o or_o to_o any_o religion_n duty_n whatsoever_o no_o nor_o to_o be_v so_o much_o as_o a_o member_n of_o any_o church_n 16._o we_o hold_v that_o the_o king_n ought_v not_o to_o be_v subject_a to_o the_o ecclesiastical_a censure_n of_o any_o church_n church_n officer_n or_o synod_n whatsoever_o but_o only_o to_o that_o church_n and_o those_o officer_n of_o his_o own_o will_n subject_n and_o commit_v the_o regiment_n of_o his_o soul_n in_o who_o there_o can_v be_v no_o suspicion_n nor_o fear_n of_o any_o partiality_n or_o unjust_a or_o rigorous_a deal_n against_o he_o 17._o we_o hold_v that_o if_o any_o ecclesiastical_a governor_n call_v they_o by_o what_o name_n you_o will_v shall_v abuse_v their_o ecclesiastical_a authority_n in_o the_o execution_n of_o their_o censure_n upon_o any_o man_n whosoever_o that_o the_o king_n and_o civil_a state_n under_o he_o have_v power_n to_o punish_v they_o severe_o for_o it_o much_o more_o if_o they_o
shall_v abuse_v it_o upon_o the_o supreme_a majesty_n himself_o 18._o if_o the_o king_n subject_v himself_o to_o spiritual_a guide_n and_o governor_n shall_v afterward_o refuse_v to_o be_v guide_v and_o govern_v by_o they_o according_a to_o the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o live_v in_o notorious_a sin_n without_o repentance_n shall_v wilful_o contemn_v and_o despise_v all_o their_o holy_a and_o religious_a censure_n that_o then_o these_o governor_n be_v to_o refuse_v to_o administer_v the_o holy_a thing_n of_o god_n unto_o he_o and_o to_o leave_v he_o to_o himself_o and_o to_o the_o secret_a judgement_n of_o god_n &_o whole_o to_o resign_v and_o give_v over_o that_o spiritual_a charge_n and_o tuition_n over_o he_o which_o by_o call_v from_o god_n and_o the_o king_n they_o do_v undertake_v and_o more_o than_o this_o they_o may_v not_o do_v and_o after_o all_o this_o we_o hold_v that_o he_o yet_o still_o retain_v and_o aught_o to_o retain_v entire_o and_o solid_o all_o that_o aforesaid_a supreme_a power_n and_o authority_n over_o the_o church_n of_o this_o dominion_n in_o as_o ample_a a_o manner_n as_o if_o he_o be_v the_o most_o christian_n prince_n in_o the_o world_n 19_o we_o acknowledge_v king_n james_n to_o be_v our_o only_a lawful_a sovereign_n and_o unto_o he_o to_o be_v due_a all_o the_o aforesaid_a supremacy_n and_o we_o renounce_v and_o abjure_v all_o opinion_n
