liberty_n the_o great_a monarch_n and_o prince_n of_o christendom_n have_v be_v in_o great_a part_n the_o fomenter_n and_o upholder_n of_o it_o and_o their_o doctor_n have_v not_o so_o much_o by_o their_o preach_a and_o wri_v beat_v it_o down_o as_o the_o king_n themselves_o have_v by_o their_o example_n and_o action_n give_v encouragement_n unto_o it_o for_o although_o i_o shall_v ever_o speak_v with_o reverence_n of_o prince_n and_o their_o proceed_n yet_o i_o shall_v hope_v that_o the_o humble_a representation_n of_o this_o truth_n will_v receive_v a_o fair_a interpretation_n for_o god_n admit_v of_o recrimation_n for_o our_o excuse_n our_o duty_n of_o not_o resist_v be_v positive_a upon_o pain_n of_o damnatition_n from_o which_o no_o good_a success_n or_o prevail_a can_v keep_v we_o although_o it_o may_v save_v we_o from_o the_o gallow_n beside_o this_o great_a hazard_n of_o our_o soul_n moral_a prudence_n teach_v we_o that_o a_o civil_a war_n which_o i_o hope_v yet_o we_o have_v no_o great_a reason_n to_o fear_v be_v common_o a_o cure_n much_o worse_a than_o the_o disease_n for_o no_o oppression_n nay_o no_o tyranny_n bring_v with_o it_o half_a those_o misery_n and_o restrain_v to_o some_o wickedness_n and_o to_o some_o person_n but_o in_o a_o war_n rape_n murder_n robbery_n sacrilege_n and_o all_o manner_n of_o impiety_n break_v in_o and_o all_o sort_n of_o people_n be_v make_v miserable_a which_o the_o poor_a kingdom_n of_o england_n have_v find_v true_a by_o sad_a experience_n where_o in_o the_o space_n of_o five_o year_n only_o from_o 1641_o to_o 1646_o more_o be_v take_v from_o the_o subject_a than_o will_v have_v be_v exact_v by_o subsidy_n project_n or_o any_o unjust_a tax_n whatsoever_o by_o the_o worst_a of_o king_n in_o the_o space_n
