and_o papist_n though_o peradventure_o zealous_a in_o their_o religion_n yet_o otherwise_o civil_o honest_a and_o good_a subject_n and_o acknowledge_v that_o his_o mother_n although_o she_o continue_v in_o that_o religion_n wherein_o she_o be_v nourish_v yet_o be_v so_o far_o from_o be_v superstitious_a or_o jesuited_a therein_o that_o at_o his_o baptism_n though_o he_o be_v baptize_v by_o a_o popish_a archbishop_n she_o send_v he_o word_n to_o forbear_v to_o use_v the_o spittle_n in_o his_o baptism_n which_o be_v obey_v and_o in_o his_o premonition_n speak_v to_o roman_n catholic_n prince_n and_o wish_v they_o to_o search_v the_o scripture_n and_o ground_n their_o faith_n upon_o their_o own_o certain_a knowledge_n and_o not_o on_o the_o report_n of_o other_o since_o every_o man_n must_v be_v safe_a by_o his_o own_o faith_n but_o leave_v this_o to_o god_n his_o merciful_a providence_n in_o his_o due_a time_n he_o further_o wish_v they_o to_o imitate_v their_o noble_a predecessor_n who_o in_o the_o day_n of_o great_a blindness_n do_v divers_a time_n courageous_o oppose_v themselves_o to_o the_o encroach_a ambition_n of_o pope_n and_o acknowledge_v that_o some_o of_o their_o kingdom_n have_v in_o all_o age_n maintain_v and_o without_o interruption_n enjoy_v their_o liberty_n against_o the_o most_o ambitious_a pope_n etc._n etc._n and_o say_v that_o some_o of_o those_o prince_n have_v constant_o defend_v and_o maintain_v their_o lawful_a freedom_n to_o their_o immortal_a honour_n and_o conclude_v his_o premonition_n with_o earnest_a prayer_n to_o the_o almighty_a for_o their_o prosperity_n and_o that_o after_o their_o happy_a temporal_a reign_n on_o earth_n they_o may_v live_v and_o reign_v in_o heaven_n with_o he_o forever_o this_o learned_a king_n do_v sufficient_o thereby_o proclaim_v himself_o a_o enemy_n to_o the_o papal_a tenet_n of_o sound_v dominion_n in_o grace_n as_o to_o those_o foreign_a popish_a prince_n and_o can_v not_o therefore_o but_o more_o abhor_v the_o effect_n of_o it_o in_o the_o case_n of_o his_o hereditary_a successor_n and_o he_o have_v judge_v that_o those_o foreign_a prince_n who_o own_v the_o religionary_a tenet_n of_o popery_n do_v yet_o constant_o defend_v and_o maintain_v their_o lawful_a freedom_n from_o all_o papal_a usurpation_n to_o their_o immortal_a honour_n and_o with_o so_o devout_a a_o charity_n pray_v for_o their_o happy_a temporal_a reign_n on_o earth_n and_o that_o they_o may_v live_v and_o reign_v in_o heaven_n afterward_o can_v not_o but_o suppose_v that_o any_o of_o his_o heir_n who_o may_v be_v of_o the_o roman_n catholic_n communion_n will_v yet_o disow_v any_o tenet_n of_o popery_n that_o be_v irreligionary_a and_o will_v exterminate_v all_o papal_a usurpation_n and_o that_o they_o may_v here_o expect_v a_o happy_a reign_n on_o earth_n and_o a_o happy_a in_o heaven_n hereafter_o leave_v it_o to_o god_n to_o open_v their_o eye_n as_o aforesaid_a in_o matter_n religionary_a and_o to_o render_v they_o fafe_a by_o their_o own_o faith._n king_n james_n in_o his_o apology_n for_o the_o oath_n of_o allegiance_n do_v incidenter_v prop_v up_o the_o justice_n of_o the_o oath_n of_o supremacy_n and_o in_o p._n 49_o 50_o 51._o do_v insert_v 14_o contrary_a conclusion_n to_o all_o the_o point_n and_o article_n of_o which_o the_o oath_n of_o supremacy_n consist_v to_o denote_v the_o absurdity_n of_o the_o oppose_a that_o oath_n and_o which_o conclusion_n though_o many_o clerical_a and_o lay-papists_a among_o his_o subject_n may_v maintain_v yet_o he_o may_v well_o think_v it_o moral_o impossible_a for_o a_o roman_n catholic_n prince_n here_o to_o do_v so_o and_o he_o give_v a_o very_a good_a reason_n for_o the_o induce_v any_o one_o so_o to_o judge_v of_o his_o measure_n viz._n that_o those_o conclusion_n be_v never_o conclude_v and_o define_v by_o any_o complete_a general_n council_n
