judge_v of_o matter_n of_o controversy_n without_o mistake_n do_v for_o the_o church_n peace_n sake_n permit_v person_n hold_v and_o maintain_v many_o great_a and_o dangerous_a error_n to_o abide_v be_v grope_v in_o the_o dark_a about_o several_a gospel_n truth_n in_o which_o the_o light_n of_o christ_n have_v since_o more_o full_o inform_v they_o to_o walk_v towards_o one_o another_o with_o all_o tenderness_n and_o charity_n put_v in_o practice_n that_o rule_n of_o forbear_v one_o another_o in_o love_n ephes_n 4.2_o and_o thereby_o endeavour_v to_o keep_v the_o unity_n of_o the_o spirit_n in_o the_o bond_n of_o peace_n verse_n 3_o but_o it_o be_v evident_a the_o apostle_n and_o holy_a penman_n of_o scripture_n do_v so_o walk_v in_o like_a case_n when_o there_o be_v not_o the_o like_a reason_n therefore_o god_n minister_n and_o people_n ought_v so_o to_o walk_v now_o object_n 2._o then_o you_o be_v for_o the_o permit_v of_o all_o error_n in_o the_o church_n for_o if_o we_o must_v not_o separate_v from_o error_n of_o this_o nature_n what_o shall_v we_o separate_v from_o answ_n to_o make_v a_o particular_a discrimination_n by_o name_n of_o all_o error_n or_o to_o determine_v the_o degree_n of_o any_o particular_a error_n that_o shall_v render_v the_o erroneous_a person_n incommunicable_a be_v too_o hard_a a_o task_n for_o i_o to_o undertake_v i_o shall_v strike_v at_o the_o foundation_n of_o save_v faith_n on_o the_o other_o hand_n then_o the_o church_n and_o saint_n of_o god_n who_o desire_v not_o to_o be_v wise_a above_o what_o be_v write_v at_o this_o day_n ought_v only_o to_o reject_v and_o withdraw_v from_o such_o but_o the_o error_n and_o heresy_n the_o scripture_n mention_n as_o dangerous_a and_o insufferable_a in_o the_o church_n of_o god_n who_o the_o church_n and_o saint_n of_o god_n be_v exhort_v to_o reject_v and_o withdraw_v from_o be_v only_o such_o ergo_fw-la the_o church_n and_o saint_n at_o this_o day_n ought_v only_o to_o reject_v &_o withdraw_v from_o such_o object_n but_o there_o be_v several_a command_n or_o rule_v in_o scripture_n to_o withdraw_v from_o and_o note_v person_n for_o offence_n that_o seem_v to_o be_v of_o a_o different_a nature_n from_o these_o general_a rule_n propose_v by_o you_o as_o for_o disorderly_a walk_n 2_o thes_n 3.6_o now_o we_o command_v you_o brethren_n in_o the_o name_n of_o the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n that_o you_o withdraw_v yourselves_o from_o every_o brother_n that_o walk_v disorderly_a etc._n etc._n and_o and_z so_o for_o disobedience_n verse_n 14._o if_o any_o man_n obey_v not_o the_o word_n by_o this_o epistle_n note_v that_o man_n etc._n etc._n answ_n i_o do_v admit_v all_o offence_n and_o disorder_n come_v within_o the_o rule_n of_o church_n censure_n to_o be_v incommunicable_a after_o the_o church_n censure_n be_v past_a so_o far_o as_o such_o censure_n extend_v to_o excommunicate_v and_o consequent_o person_n live_v in_o such_o disorder_n and_o not_o thes_n 2.9_o 2_o thes_n 3.8_o but_o to_o the_o disturbance_n and_o disquiet_n of_o it_o 1_o thes_n 4.11_o and_o also_o to_o the_o scandal_n of_o the_o gospel_n to_o they_o that_o be_v without_o verse_n 12._o which_o sort_n of_o person_n be_v only_o mean_v here_o by_o the_o apostle_n and_o of_o the_o like_a disorder_n he_o further_o complain_v 1_o tim._n 5.13_o and_o they_o withal_o learn_v to_o be_v idle_a wander_v about_o from_o house_n to_o house_n and_o not_o only_o idle_a but_o tatler_n also_o and_o busybody_n speak_v thing_n which_o they_o ought_v not_o and_o therefore_o this_o can_v concern_v any_o person_n who_o be_v of_o holy_a blameless_a conversation_n for_o their_o error_n in_o judgement_n not_o within_o the_o former_a rule_n propose_v object_n but_o be_v there_o not_o a_o order_n that_o god_n have_v appoint_v his_o church_n to_o walk_v in_o which_o such_o as_o refuse_v to_o observe_v aught_o to_o be_v exclude_v and_o withdraw_v from_o as_o disorderly_a person_n against_o the_o rule_n of_o god_n visible_a worship_n the_o controversy_n about_o which_o have_v produce_v more_o rent_n and_o division_n among_o god_n people_n than_o doctrine_n of_o faith_n or_o inward_a qualification_n of_o grace_n have_v do_v for_o such_o as_o never_o be_v able_a to_o contend_v for_o the_o faith_n once_o deliver_v to_o the_o saint_n judas_n verse_n 3._o nor_o to_o understand_v the_o mystery_n hide_v from_o age_n and_o generation_n col._n 1.26_o such_o as_o never_o have_v acquaintance_n with_o the_o power_n of_o godliness_n in_o their_o own_o heart_n have_v be_v very_o able_a to_o plead_v for_o the_o form_n of_o it_o from_o rational_a conclusion_n out_o of_o the_o history_n of_o the_o gospel_n with_o which_o they_o have_v fill_v their_o head_n and_o therefore_o it_o must_v be_v admit_v that_o not_o only_o carnal_a christian_n but_o even_o jew_n turk_n and_o pagan_n that_o be_v capable_a of_o read_v the_o scripture_n be_v capable_a of_o discover_v and_o observe_v the_o outward_a form_n of_o god_n worship_n for_o what_o man_n be_v rational_o capable_a to_o oppose_v they_o be_v rational_o capable_a to_o judge_v of_o and_o observe_v but_o atheist_n jew_n and_o turk_n etc._n etc._n be_v rational_o capable_a to_o oppose_v therefore_o rational_o capable_a to_o judge_v of_o and_o observe_v the_o visible_a write_a rule_n of_o god_n worship_n and_o therefore_o though_o the_o visible_a rule_n and_o true_a form_n of_o god_n worship_v lay_v down_o in_o scripture_n aught_o to_o be_v high_o value_v by_o all_o sincere_a christian_n and_o by_o they_o all_o faithful_o observe_v yet_o when_o through_o the_o general_a apostasy_n of_o professor_n of_o the_o true_a religion_n or_o the_o corrupt_a estate_n of_o the_o church_n the_o visible_a form_n of_o god_n worship_n become_v corrupt_v and_o from_o thence_o controversy_n arise_v about_o the_o primitive_a pattern_n betwixt_o person_n equal_o aim_v at_o purity_n in_o it_o there_o ought_v then_o to_o be_v much_o of_o tenderness_n and_o caution_n in_o such_o about_o their_o strive_v for_o the_o right_a form_n lest_o thereby_o they_o stifle_v and_o destroy_v the_o true_a as_o in_o the_o former_a case_n so_o in_o this_o there_o must_v be_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o regard_n have_v to_o the_o disposition_n of_o mind_n and_o nature_n of_o the_o principle_n from_o which_o such_o person_n dissent_v or_o oppose_v for_o that_o may_v much_o aggravate_v or_o extenuate_v their_o evil_n and_o thereby_o much_o differ_v the_o rule_n of_o your_o walk_n towards_o they_o for_o if_o such_o opposition_n or_o dissent_n proceed_v from_o that_o common_a principle_n and_o spirit_n of_o opposition_n and_o contempt_n which_o general_o the_o popish_a and_o prelatical_a people_n walk_v in_o against_o holy_a qualification_n and_o purity_n of_o worship_n press_v after_o by_o the_o godly_a then_o to_o walk_v towards_o they_o as_o person_n hold_v only_o the_o form_n of_o religion_n but_o deny_v the_o power_n of_o it_o but_o if_o such_o dissent_n or_o opposition_n proceed_v from_o a_o conscientious_a mind_n charitable_o dispose_v towards_o the_o godly_a thus_o walk_v only_o differ_v in_o judgement_n as_o to_o the_o rule_n of_o church-membership_a than_o such_o a_o conscientious_a dissent_n and_o charitable_a mind_n on_o the_o one_o hand_n require_v a_o suitable_a deportment_n on_o the_o other_o then_o though_o you_o ought_v not_o to_o own_v they_o nor_o join_v with_o they_o in_o a_o union_n of_o church-state_n in_o regard_n their_o principle_n and_o practice_n may_v waste_v the_o visible_a bound_n of_o christ_n church_n viz._n regeneration_n and_o sanctify_a faith_n yet_o to_o walk_v towards_o they_o with_o all_o christian_a tenderness_n and_o charitable_a
