earth_n that_o they_o shall_v make_v a_o image_n to_o the_o beast_n which_o have_v the_o wound_n with_o a_o sword_n and_o do_v live_v here_o we_o may_v see_v that_o the_o pope_n by_o his_o command_a power_n be_v the_o cause_n of_o set_v up_o this_o image_n and_o for_o the_o better_a and_o more_o clear_a understanding_n what_o this_o image_n be_v let_v we_o consider_v a_o little_a the_o pattern_n who_o image_n and_o likeness_n it_o bear_v namely_o the_o first_o beast_n the_o first_o beast_n as_o have_v be_v show_v be_v the_o representative_a body_n of_o the_o catholic_a church_n militant_a consist_v of_o the_o select_a prelacy_n and_o preisthood_n of_o sundry_a nation_n gather_v together_o into_o one_o council_n or_o synod_n with_o authority_n to_o make_v law_n and_o canon_n for_o the_o universal_a church_n to_o be_v observe_v uniform_o of_o all_o nation_n under_o pretence_n of_o the_o insufficiency_n of_o the_o scripture_n for_o the_o government_n of_o the_o church_n and_o the_o worship_n of_o god_n in_o like_a manner_n the_o pope_n in_o his_o wisdom_n see_v it_o necessary_a for_o the_o good_a government_n maintenance_n and_o uphold_v of_o his_o kingdom_n and_o the_o root_n out_o of_o heretic_n and_o seditious_a person_n as_o they_o call_v they_o which_o daily_a increase_v in_o every_o country_n do_v ordain_v and_o command_v 6._o command_v vide_fw-la concilium_fw-la lateran_n secundum_fw-la can._n 6._o that_o in_o every_o province_n there_o shall_v yearly_o be_v hold_v and_o keep_v a_o provincial_n counsel_n or_o synod_n consist_v of_o the_o prelate_n and_o divers_a other_o select_a person_n which_o shall_v look_v to_o those_o matter_n to_o which_o synod_n he_o also_o give_v power_n to_o make_v law_n and_o ordinance_n to_o which_o the_o people_n shall_v be_v conformable_a and_o obedient_a this_o be_v the_o image_n which_o he_o cause_v the_o dweller_n on_o the_o earth_n to_o make_v of_o the_o beast_n which_o have_v the_o wound_n with_o a_o sword_n and_o do_v live_v further_o it_o be_v say_v verse_n 15._o and_o power_n be_v give_v he_o to_o give_v life_n unto_o the_o image_n of_o the_o beast_n that_o the_o image_n of_o the_o beast_n shall_v both_o speak_v and_o 15._o ver._n 15._o cause_n that_o as_o many_o as_o will_v not_o worship_v the_o image_n of_o the_o beast_n shall_v be_v kill_v in_o this_o verse_n we_o may_v observe_v first_o that_o a_o gift_n be_v give_v to_o the_o pope_n to_o bestow_v upon_o this_o image_n second_o what_o this_o gift_n be_v viz._n to_o give_v life_n or_o breath_n to_o the_o image_n three_o the_o end_n and_o effect_n of_o the_o gift_n which_o be_v that_o the_o beast_n shall_v speak_v and_o cause_n that_o as_o many_o as_o will_v not_o worship_v the_o beast_n shall_v be_v kill_v as_o there_o be_v give_v by_o the_o dragon_n to_o the_o first_o beast_n great_a power_n and_o authority_n and_o also_o a_o mouth_n to_o speak_v blasphemy_n and_o to_o make_v war_n with_o the_o saint_n in_o like_a manner_n by_o the_o same_o dragon_n be_v this_o gift_n give_v to_o the_o pope_n to_o give_v life_n or_o breathe_v to_o this_o image_n by_o life_n be_v here_o mean_v authority_n which_o be_v the_o life_n of_o a_o synod_n without_o which_o it_o be_v of_o no_o force_n and_o so_o this_o image_n shall_v have_v be_v no_o more_o than_o a_o very_a image_n or_o picture_n and_o set_v up_o to_o no_o purpose_n but_o the_o pope_n have_v receive_v it_o give_v authority_n to_o the_o image_n that_o he_o shall_v speak_v that_o be_v make_v and_o set_v forth_o canon_n and_o law_n for_o to_o speak_v be_v so_o understand_v as_o for_o example_n a_o king_n be_v say_v to_o speak_v to_o his_o subject_n when_o he_o set_v forth_o his_o law_n and_o proclamation_n so_o this_o beast_n have_v make_v canon_n and_o decree_n speak_v to_o her_o vassal_n and_o subject_n by_o they_o moreover_o the_o image_n cause_v that_o as_o many_o as_o will_v not_o worship_v he_o shall_v be_v kill_v here_o the_o pride_n and_o cruelty_n of_o this_o image_n be_v set_v forth_o to_o be_v answerable_a to_o the_o first_o beast_n and_o therefore_o right_o be_v he_o call_v her_o image_n for_o as_o the_o first_o beast_n make_v wart_n with_o the_o saint_n and_o overcome_v they_o and_o all_o that_o dwell_v on_o the_o earth_n worship_v he_o etc._n etc._n so_o whosoever_o will_v not_o worship_v this_o image_n that_o be_v hear_v his_o voice_n and_o keep_v his_o commandment_n there_o be_v no_o way_n for_o he_o but_o death_n all_o the_o worship_n that_o the_o lord_n require_v of_o his_o servant_n be_v *_o that_o they_o fear_v he_o walk_v in_o all_o his_o way_n love_v he_o and_o serve_v he_o with_o all_o their_o 13._o deu._n 10._o 12._o 13._o heart_n and_o with_o all_o their_o soul_n to_o keep_v the_o commandment_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o his_o ordinance_n and_o this_o be_v indeed_o the_o true_a worship_n of_o god_n in_o like_a manner_n this_o image_n will_v be_v worship_v his_o law_n must_v be_v observe_v &_o his_o canon_n obey_v without_o examine_v and_o try_v of_o they_o be_v they_o never_o so_o unholy_a and_o unjust_a they_o that_o do_v not_o observe_v and_o obey_v they_o be_v they_o never_o so_o upright_a and_o holy_a man_n
