with_o speak_v of_o it_o and_o to_o the_o intent_n that_o he_o may_v magnify_v the_o greatness_n and_o the_o riches_n of_o the_o mercy_n of_o the_o lord_n he_o confess_v and_o set_v down_o although_o to_o his_o own_o shame_n his_o former_a sinful_a life_n and_o behaviour_n in_o sundry_a degree_n whereas_o before_o say_v he_o i_o be_v a_o blasphemer_n and_o a_o persecuter_n and_o a_o appressor_n look_v if_o he_o think_v much_o of_o himself_o he_o be_v one_o of_o the_o cruel_a persecuter_n that_o ever_o be_v in_o the_o church_n he_o be_v in_o a_o rage_n against_o christ_n behold_v brethren_n paul_n be_v not_o ashamed_a to_o paint_v out_o himself_o in_o his_o own_o colour_n and_o particular_o to_o confess_v his_o former_a evil_a deed_n and_o to_o registrate_n they_o to_o his_o own_o shame_n to_o the_o world_n end_n yea_o you_o shall_v see_v in_o sundry_a place_n where_o he_o speak_v of_o himself_o that_o he_o can_v never_o satisfy_v himself_o in_o aggregate_a his_o own_o wickedness_n the_o sinner_n who_o have_v find_v mercy_n will_v not_o regard_v to_o discover_v his_o sin_n to_o his_o own_o shame_n and_o to_o tell_v all_o the_o world_n of_o they_o that_o he_o may_v glorify_v he_o who_o have_v give_v he_o mercy_n he_o will_v not_o stand_v upon_o his_o reputation_n but_o he_o will_v preserre_v god_n glory_n unto_o his_o own_o account_n he_o will_v glorify_v the_o lord_n with_o his_o own_o shame_n when_o david_n find_v mercy_n for_o his_o vile_a adultery_n and_o abominable_a murder_n he_o not_o only_o confess_v his_o sin_n to_o his_o own_o shame_n but_o also_o ascend_v to_o confess_v the_o natural_a corruption_n which_o he_o have_v from_o the_o loin_n of_o his_o parent_n the_o man_n that_o have_v fall_v into_o a_o notorious_a and_o vile_a sin_n and_o offence_n and_o yet_o for_o shame_n will_v not_o confess_v it_o that_o god_n may_v be_v glorify_v that_o soul_n have_v never_o feel_v the_o mercy_n of_o god_n and_o if_o thou_o have_v feel_v that_o mercy_n of_o god_n thy_o heart_n will_v be_v loose_v and_o thy_o mouth_n also_o to_o glorify_v god_n by_o a_o humble_a confession_n moreover_o you_o may_v perceive_v out_o of_o these_o word_n how_o and_o what_o way_n the_o apostle_n find_v the_o strength_n and_o power_n of_o the_o gospel_n he_o find_v a_o power_n in_o it_o but_o not_o at_o the_o first_o instant_n but_o ere_o ever_o he_o feel_v the_o power_n of_o the_o lord_n he_o find_v himself_o to_o be_v weak_a and_o ere_o he_o feel_v the_o mercy_n of_o god_n he_o find_v himself_o to_o be_v a_o miserable_a man_n thou_o shall_v never_o feel_v the_o power_n of_o god_n except_o first_o thou_o feel_v thy_o own_o weakness_n and_o thou_o shall_v never_o feel_v his_o mercy_n except_o first_o thou_o feel_v thy_o misery_n and_o therefore_o the_o lord_n jesus_n many_o a_o time_n sundry_a way_n cross_v his_o own_o in_o this_o life_n to_o the_o end_n that_o they_o may_v know_v and_o feel_v their_o weakness_n and_o misery_n and_o so_o go_v out_o of_o themselves_o to_o find_v strength_n and_o mercy_n in_o jesus_n christ_n sometime_o he_o will_v exercise_v his_o own_o with_o shame_n and_o reproach_n in_o the_o world_n sometime_o with_o heavy_a disease_n and_o painful_a sickness_n sometime_o with_o want_n of_o the_o outward_a comfort_n of_o this_o life_n sometime_o with_o trouble_n and_o terror_n in_o the_o conscience_n and_o all_o to_o this_o end_n that_o they_o may_v know_v what_o they_o be_v without_o the_o lord_n how_o weak_a how_o frail_a how_o abject_a and_o naughty_a they_o be_v that_o so_o find_v themselves_o as_o nothing_o they_o may_v be_v compel_v to_o renounce_v themselves_o and_o to_o seek_v to_o be_v find_v in_o jesus_n yea_o after_o the_o lord_n have_v draw_v they_o to_o he_o by_o cross_n the_o lord_n use_v all_o the_o day_n of_o their_o life-time_n to_o expone_fw-la they_o to_o cross_n that_o every_o day_n find_v more_o their_o want_n infirmity_n and_o lack_v of_o comfort_n in_o themselves_o they_o may_v the_o more_o daily_a seek_v and_o strive_v to_o be_v find_v in_o jesus_n who_o can_v supply_v all_o their_o want_n and_o furnish_v every_o thing_n that_o they_o stand_v in_o need_n of_o it_o be_v true_a indeed_o many_o a_o time_n the_o lord_n will_v not_o exercise_v his_o own_o with_o cross_n but_o spare_v they_o &_o let_v they_o have_v liberty_n &_o give_v they_o in_o abundance_n the_o outward_a comfort_n of_o this_o life_n before_o they_o be_v effectual_o call_v look_v to_o paul_n before_o he_o know_v christ_n he_o boast_v much_o of_o his_o worldly_a prerogative_n of_o his_o kindred_n he_o be_v a_o gentleman_n he_o be_v in_o great_a account_n by_o the_o law_n a_o pharisee_n philip_n 3._o 4._o 5._o he_o know_v not_o what_o the_o cross_n mean_v the_o like_v you_o will_v find_v in_o many_o other_o of_o the_o saint_n of_o god_n but_o assoon_o as_o he_o call_v they_o effectual_o he_o lay_v the_o cross_n upon_o they_o that_o see_v their_o weakness_n and_o distrust_v themselves_o they_o may_v learn_v to_o renounce_v themselves_o and_o desire_v to_o find_v the_o power_n and_o life_n of_o jesus_n in_o they_o which_o they_o will_v find_v effectual_a in_o the_o cross_n in_o a_o wonderful_a manner_n look_v 2._o cor._n 11._o the_o lord_n lay_v manifold_a cross_n upon_o paul_n and_o when_o with_o tear_n he_o pray_v that_o the_o lord_n will_v take_v they_o away_o he_o get_v this_o answer_n my_o grace_n be_v sufficient_a for_o thou_o for_o my_o power_n be_v make_v perfect_a through_o thy_o weakness_n mean_v that_o he_o will_v be_v glorify_v and_o make_v paul_n to_o find_v strength_n in_o he_o when_o as_o he_o be_v weak_a in_o himself_o and_o never_o one_o be_v strong_a in_o christ_n but_o when_o he_o feel_v himself_o weak_a therefore_o he_o subjoin_v judgement_n of_o god_n be_v like_o many_o messenger_n from_o heaven_n to_o waken_v us._n in_o the_o example_n of_o the_o woman_n we_o see_v that_o the_o lord_n child_n must_v be_v waken_v and_o oftentimes_o our_o first_o waken_n be_v very_o sharp_a doleful_a and_o fearful_a as_o it_o be_v with_o one_o that_o be_v waken_v in_o the_o rage_n of_o a_o fever_n yet_o there_o be_v grace_n here_o multitude_n die_v in_o pain_n torment_n and_o desperation_n after_o they_o be_v waken_v well_o she_o hear_v tell_v that_o he_o be_v come_v to_o these_o part_n and_o that_o he_o be_v such_o a_o man_n
