a_o synod_n be_v equal_a single_o consider_v yet_o joint_o they_o be_v superior_a to_o any_o one_o single_a and_o have_v more_o authority_n than_o he_o have_v or_o else_o all_o you_o speak_v of_o synod_n be_v but_o vanity_n but_o if_o they_o have_v not_o their_o authority_n derive_v from_o elder_n of_o other_o church_n nor_o from_o synod_n nor_o from_o the_o elder_n of_o their_o own_o church_n because_o they_o be_v all_o equal_a either_o they_o must_v derive_v it_o from_o the_o people_n or_o they_o have_v none_o of_o all_o and_o so_o the_o people_n have_v as_o much_o authority_n as_o any_o elder_n of_o they_o all_o yea_o in_o your_o way_n more_o 3._o the_o three_o branch_n of_o the_o three_o propos_fw-fr both_o elder_n and_o brethren_n together_o be_v the_o first_o subject_n of_o all_o power_n needful_a among_o themselves_o you_o prove_v it_o by_o instance_n 1._o in_o point_n of_o ordination_n which_o be_v complete_a when_o the_o people_n have_v choose_v he_o and_o the_o presbytery_n of_o the_o church_n have_v lay_v their_o hand_n upon_o he_o but_o 1._o i_o observe_v that_o here_o you_o make_v ordination_n a_o act_n of_o authority_n and_o place_n it_o in_o the_o elder_n ergo_fw-la either_o the_o brethren_n can_v ordain_v elder_n which_o yet_o you_o say_v they_o may_v or_o else_o they_o have_v authority_n which_o yet_o you_o seem_v to_o deny_v 2._o some_o of_o your_o brethren_n here_o hold_v ordination_n to_o be_v nothing_o but_o a_o ceremonial_a solemnity_n the_o substance_n of_o a_o minister_n call_v be_v say_v they_o in_o the_o people_n election_n ergo_fw-la either_o authority_n be_v in_o the_o people_n who_o give_v the_o substance_n and_o liberty_n only_o in_o the_o elder_n who_o give_v but_o the_o ceremony_n or_o the_o call_n of_o a_o minister_n be_v complete_a without_o ordination_n and_o yet_o you_o require_v ordination_n to_o the_o integrity_n of_o it_o but_o if_o the_o brethren_n may_v ordain_v without_o their_o officer_n than_o they_o alone_o be_v the_o first_o subject_n not_o of_o liberty_n only_o but_o of_o authority_n also_o and_o so_o this_o proposition_n be_v needless_a a_o second_o argument_n be_v take_v from_o their_o independent_a and_o indispensable_a power_n in_o church_n censure_n which_o be_v ratify_v in_o heaven_n the_o same_o answer_n will_v serve_v to_o this_o also_o for_o first_o the_o brethren_n alone_o without_o elder_n say_v you_o may_v censure_v and_o if_o right_o do_v it_o be_v indispensable_a not_o to_o be_v reverse_v by_o any_o power_n on_o earth_n because_o ratify_v in_o heaven_n ergo_fw-la they_o be_v the_o first_o subject_n of_o all_o church-power_n needful_a within_o themselves_o 2._o and_o that_o the_o rather_o if_o they_o can_v ordain_v elder_n too_o for_o then_o the_o elder_n derive_v their_o power_n from_o they_o 3._o but_o suppose_v which_o be_v possible_a enough_o the_o brethren_n and_o elder_n err_v in_o their_o censure_n of_o a_o member_n be_v not_o the_o censure_n then_o reversible_a i_o ask_v by_o who_o if_o all_o power_n needful_a for_o themselves_o be_v within_o themselves_o what_o shall_v the_o wrong_a party_n do_v be_v he_o remediles_o miserable_a if_o it_o be_v dispensable_a and_o reversible_a it_o must_v be_v by_o some_o other_o church_n or_o clâ—ssis_n etc._n etc._n but_o then_o a_o congregation_n of_o brethren_n and_o elder_n be_v not_o the_o first_o subject_n of_o all_o power_n needful_a among_o themselves_o if_o you_o say_v you_o mean_v when_o they_o walk_v in_o truth_n and_o peace_n you_o shall_v yet_o have_v tell_v we_o what_o the_o party_n must_v do_v when_o they_o walk_v not_o in_o truth_n and_o peace_n and_o if_o they_o have_v not_o a_o power_n to_o right_v a_o wrong_a party_n they_o have_v not_o all_o power_n needful_a to_o be_v exercise_v among_o themselves_o the_o objection_n by_o you_o bring_v and_o answer_v rather_o concern_v the_o episcopal_a than_o the_o presbyterial_a way_n at_o least_o you_o grant_v that_o the_o business_n be_v to_o be_v tell_v first_o to_o the_o presbytery_n who_o if_o upon_o hear_v the_o cause_n and_o examine_v the_o witness_n they_o find_v it_o ripe_a for_o public_a censure_n they_o be_v then_o to_o propound_v it_o to_o the_o church_n etc._n etc._n and_o you_o grant_v the_o people_n no_o more_o but_o consent_n to_o the_o judgement_n and_o sentence_n of_o the_o elder_n the_o presbytery_n also_o be_v to_o admonish_v the_o party_n authoritative_o and_o if_o he_o will_v not_o hear_v they_o to_o pass_v the_o sentence_n upon_o he_o ergo_fw-la the_o presbytery_n be_v the_o church_n there_o mean_v and_o not_o the_o people_n who_o neither_o admonish_v nor_o censure_v authoritative_o but_o only_o discern_v the_o nature_n of_o
