be_v set_v unless_o he_o bring_v a_o certificate_n in_o write_v from_o the_o commissioner_n where_o that_o he_o be_v so_o set_v in_o deed_n at_o one_o place_n and_o if_o any_o parson_n that_o ought_v to_o be_v set_v by_o reason_n of_o his_o remove_a or_o resort_v to_o two_o place_n or_o by_o reason_n of_o his_o say_n that_o he_o else_o where_o be_v tax_v or_o by_o reason_n of_o any_o privilege_n by_o his_o dwell_v or_o abide_n in_o any_o place_n not_o be_v forepryse_v in_o this_o act_n or_o otherwise_o by_o his_o covyn_n or_o craft_n happen_v to_o escape_v from_o the_o say_a taxation_n and_o be_v not_o set_v and_o tax_v and_o that_o prove_v by_o presentment_n examination_n or_o information_n before_o the_o say_a commissioner_n or_o as_o many_o of_o they_o as_o shall_v be_v by_o the_o same_o commyssyon_n appoint_v or_o before_o the_o baron_n of_o the_o queen_n majesty_n exchequer_n or_o two_o justyce_n of_o the_o peax_n of_o the_o county_n where_o such_o parson_n dwell_v then_o every_o such_o parson_n that_o by_o such_o mean_n or_o otherwise_o wyllynglye_o by_o covyn_n shall_v happen_v to_o escape_v from_o the_o say_a taxation_n or_o payment_n aforesaid_a and_o not_o be_v rate_v tax_v and_o set_v shall_v be_v charge_v upon_o the_o knowledge_n and_o proof_n thereof_o with_o and_o at_o the_o double_a value_n of_o so_o much_o as_o he_o shall_v may_v or_o aught_o to_o have_v be_v set_v and_o tax_v at_o by_o virtue_n of_o this_o act_n and_o the_o same_o double_a value_n to_o be_v levy_v gather_v and_o pay_v of_o his_o good_n and_o cattelle_n land_n and_o tememente_n towards_o the_o say_a subsedye_n and_o further_o to_o be_v punysh_v according_a to_o the_o discression_n of_o the_o baron_n justice_n and_o commissioner_n before_o who_o he_o shall_v be_v convict_v for_o his_o offence_n and_o deceit_n in_o that_o behalf_n and_o further_o be_v it_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o the_o say_v commyssyoner_n in_o every_o commyssyon_n shall_v accord_v to_o their_o division_n and_o after_o they_o be_v divide_v have_v full_a power_n and_o authority_n by_o this_o act_n to_o set_v tax_v and_o sesse_v every_o other_o commissioner_n join_v with_o they_o in_o every_o such_o commission_n and_o division_n and_o shall_v also_o assess_v every_o assessour_n within_o their_o division_n for_o his_o and_o their_o good_n land_n and_o other_o the_o premise_n as_o be_v abovesayde_v by_o the_o which_o say_v commission_n the_o say_a commissioner_n shall_v indifferent_o set_v tax_v and_o assess_v themselves_o and_o the_o say_a assessor_n and_o that_o aswell_o the_o sum_n upon_o every_o of_o the_o say_a commissioner_n and_o assessor_n so_o sess_v rate_a and_o tax_v as_o the_o sum_n make_v and_o present_v by_o the_o presenter_n swear_v as_o be_v abovesayde_v shall_v be_v write_v certify_v set_v and_o estreat_v and_o the_o estreate_v thereof_o to_o be_v make_v with_o other_o the_o inhabitant_n of_o that_o party_n within_o the_o limit_n of_o the_o same_o commission_n and_o division_n so_o to_o be_v gather_v and_o levy_v in_o like_a manner_n as_o it_o ought_v or_o shall_v have_v be_v if_o the_o say_a commissioner_n have_v not_o be_v in_o the_o say_a commission_n and_o that_o all_o parson_n of_o the_o estate_n of_o a_o baron_n or_o baron_n and_o every_o estate_n above_o shall_v be_v charge_v with_o their_o free_a hold_n and_o value_v as_o be_v abovesayde_v by_o the_o chauncelour_n or_o keeper_n of_o the_o great_a seal_n precedent_n of_o the_o counsel_n the_o high_a treasourer_n of_o england_n for_o the_o time_n be_v and_o other_o such_o parson_n as_o by_o the_o queen_n majesty_n authority_n shall_v be_v name_v and_o appoint_v and_o they_o to_o be_v charge_v for_o the_o say_v several_a payment_n of_o the_o say_a subsedye_n after_o the_o form_n of_o the_o say_a grant_n accord_v to_o the_o taxation_n aforesaid_a and_o the_o sum_n upon_o they_o set_v with_o the_o name_n of_o the_o collector_n appoint_v for_o the_o gather_a and_o payinge_v of_o the_o same_o to_o be_v estreat_v delyver_v
and_o certyfy_v at_o day_n and_o place_n above_o specyfy_v by_o the_o lord_n chancellor_n or_o keeper_n of_o the_o great_a seal_n and_o treasourer_n and_o other_o such_o parson_n as_o thereto_o shall_v be_v name_v and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o after_o the_o tax_n and_o assess_v of_o the_o say_a sum_n upon_o and_o by_o the_o say_a assessing_n and_o certificate_n as_o be_v aforesaid_a make_v by_o the_o say_a commyssyoner_n or_o as_o many_o of_o they_o as_o shall_v be_v thereunto_o appoint_v by_o the_o queen_n majesty_n commission_n shall_v with_o all_o speed_n and_o without_o delay_n by_o the_o write_v estreat_v of_o the_o say_v tax_v thereof_o under_o the_o seal_n and_o sign_n manuel_n of_o the_o say_a commissioner_n or_o as_o many_o of_o they_o as_o shall_v be_v appoint_v at_o the_o jest_n to_o be_v make_v shall_v be_v delyver_v unto_o sufficient_a and_o substantial_a inhabitant_n constable_n subconstable_n baylyffe_n &_o other_o officer_n joint_o of_o hundredes_o town_n paryshes_fw-mi and_o other_o place_n aforesaid_a within_o their_o limit_n or_o to_o other_o sufficient_a parson_n inhabitant_n of_o the_o same_o only_o by_o the_o discression_n of_o the_o say_a commissioner_n and_o as_o the_o place_n and_o party_n shall_v require_v aswell_o the_o particular_a name_n and_o surname_n as_o the_o remembrance_n of_o all_o sum_n of_o money_n tax_v and_o set_v of_o and_o upon_o every_o parson_n aswell_o man_n as_o woman_n chargeable_a to_o this_o act_n householder_n and_o all_o other_o the_o inhabitant_n &_o dweller_n within_o the_o say_a parysh_n town_n and_o place_n contributory_a to_o this_o act_n of_o subsidy_n by_o authority_n of_o which_o writing_n or_o estreate_v so_o delyver_v the_o say_a officer_n and_o other_o parson_n so_o name_v and_o depute_v severallye_o shall_v have_v full_a power_n and_o authority_n by_o virtue_n of_o this_o act_n immediate_o after_o the_o delyvery_n of_o the_o say_v write_v or_o estreate_n to_o demand_v levy_n and_o gather_v of_o every_o parson_n therein_o specify_v the_o sum_n and_o sum_n in_o the_o same_o write_n or_o estreate_v comprise_v and_o for_o non_fw-fr payment_n thereof_o to_o distrayne_v the_o same_o parson_n or_o parson_n so_o be_v behind_o by_o their_o good_n and_o cattle_n and_o the_o distress_n so_o take_v to_o keep_v by_o the_o space_n of_o eight_o day_n at_o the_o cost_n and_o charge_n of_o the_o owner_n thereof_o and_o if_o the_o say_a owner_n do_v not_o pay_v such_o sum_n of_o money_n as_o shall_v be_v tax_v by_o authority_n of_o this_o act_n within_o the_o same_o viii_o day_n then_o the_o same_o distress_n to_o be_v apprease_v by_o four_o three_o or_o two_o of_o the_o inhabitant_n where_o such_o distress_n be_v take_v and_o also_o then_o to_o be_v sell_v by_o the_o say_a constable_n or_o other_o collector_n for_o the_o payment_n of_o the_o say_a money_n and_o the_o overplus_n come_n of_o the_o sale_n and_o keep_v thereof_o if_o any_o be_v to_o be_v immediate_o restore_v to_o the_o owner_n of_o the_o same_o distress_n which_o say_v officer_n and_o other_o parson_n so_o depute_v to_o ask_v take_v gather_z and_o levy_v the_o say_a sum_n shall_v answer_v and_o be_v charge_v for_o the_o portion_n only_o to_o they_o assign_v and_o limit_v to_o be_v gather_v levy_v and_o comprise_v in_o the_o say_a writing_n or_o estreate_v so_o to_o they_o as_o be_v aforesaid_a delyver_v to_o the_o use_n of_o our_o sovereign_a lady_n the_o queen_n majesty_n and_o her_o heir_n and_o successor_n and_o the_o say_a sum_n in_o that_o writing_a or_o estreate_v comprise_v to_o pay_v unto_o the_o high_a collectour_n or_o collector_n of_o that_o place_n for_o the_o collection_n of_o the_o same_o in_o manner_n and_o form_n under_o write_v thereunto_o to_o be_v name_v and_o depute_v and_o the_o same_o inhabitant_n and_o officer_n so_o gather_v the_o same_o particular_a sum_n for_o their_o collection_n thereof_o shall_v retain_v for_o every_o xx.s_n so_o by_o they_o receive_v and_o pay_v two_o penny_n &_o that_o to_o be_v allow_v at_o the_o payment_n of_o their_o collection_n by_o they_o to_o be_v make_v to_o the_o high_a collectour_n or_o collector_n and_o further_o be_v it_o enact_v by_o the_o say_a authority_n that_o the_o say_v commissioner_n or_o the_o more_o part_n of_o they_o as_o shall_v take_v upon_o they_o execution_n and_o business_n of_o the_o say_a commission_n shall_v for_o either_o of_o the_o same_o payment_n of_o the_o say_a subsedye_n name_v such_o sufficient_a and_o able_a parson_n which_o then_o shall_v have_v and_o possede_v land_n and_o other_o hereditamente_n in_o their_o own_o right_a of_o the_o yearly_a value_n of_o xx.li_fw-la or_o good_n to_o the_o value_n of_o two_o hundred_o mark_n at_o the_o least_o and_o the_o parson_n several_o by_o the_o discression_n of_o the_o same_o commissioner_n in_o shire_n ridinge_n lath_n wapentake_n rape_n city_n town_n corporate_a or_o other_o whatsoever_o place_n aswell_o within_o place_n privilege_v as_o without_o not_o be_v foreprise_v within_o this_o act_n to_o be_v high_a collector_n &_o have_v their_o collection_n and_o receipt_n of_o the_o say_a sum_n set_v and_o leviable_a within_o the_o precinct_n limit_n and_o bound_n where_o they_o shall_v be_v so_o limit_v to_o gather_v and_o receive_v to_o every_o of_o the_o which_o collector_n so_o several_o name_v the_o say_a commissioner_n or_o two_o of_o they_o at_o the_o least_o shall_v with_o all_o speed_n &_o without_o delay_n after_o the_o say_v whole_a sum_n of_o the_o say_a subsedye_n be_v set_v by_o all_o the_o limit_n of_o the_o same_o their_o commission_n or_o in_o such_o limit_n as_o the_o high_a collector_n shall_v be_v so_o several_o assign_v shall_v under_o the_o seal_n &_o sign_n manuel_n delyver_v one_o estreate_n indent_v in_o parchment_n to_o every_o of_o the_o say_v high_a collector_n compryse_v in_o it_o the_o name_n of_o all_o such_o parson_n as_o be_v assign_v to_o levy_v the_o say_v particular_a sum_n and_o sum_n of_o every_o hundred_o wapentake_n town_n or_o other_o place_n aforesaid_a with_o the_o name_n and_o surname_n of_o the_o parsone_n so_o chargeable_a accord_v to_o the_o estreate_n so_o first_o thereof_o make_v as_o be_v aforesaid_a and_o delyver_v and_o the_o collector_n so_o to_o be_v assign_v shall_v be_v charge_v to_o answer_v the_o whole_a sum_n comprise_v in_o the_o say_v estreate_v limit_v to_o his_o collection_n as_o be_v aforesaid_a provide_v always_o and_o be_v it_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o the_o say_v commissioner_n have_v authority_n by_o this_o act_n to_o name_n and_o nominate_v the_o say_a high_a collector_n of_o the_o say_a subsidy_n shall_v immediate_o upon_o the_o nomination_n and_o election_n take_v by_o authority_n of_o this_o present_a parliament_n sufficient_a recognisaunce_n or_o obligation_n without_o any_o fee_n or_o reward_v to_o be_v pay_v therefore_o of_o everye_o parsone_n so_o by_o they_o to_o be_v name_v to_o be_v high_a collectour_n to_o be_v bind_v to_o the_o queen_n majesty_n in_o the_o double_a sum_n of_o the_o sum_n of_o his_o collection_n and_o to_o be_v endorse_v and_o make_v upon_o such_o condition_n that_o be_v to_o say_v for_o the_o collection_n of_o the_o say_v first_o payment_n of_o the_o say_a subsedye_n that_o if_o the_o say_a collectour_n his_o heir_n or_o executour_n do_v truelye_o content_v and_o pay_v to_o the_o use_n of_o the_o queen_n majesty_n her_o heir_n or_o executour_n in_o the_o receipt_n of_o the_o say_a exchequer_n before_o the_o say_v first_o day_n of_o june_n next_o come_n so_o much_o of_o the_o say_a sum_n of_o money_n allot_v &_o appoint_v to_o his_o collection_n as_o he_o shall_v collect_v and_o gather_v and_o content_a and_o pay_v the_o residue_n of_o his_o collection_n and_o charge_n within_o one_o month_n next_o after_o such_o time_n as_o he_o have_v gather_v &_o collect_v the_o same_o residue_n that_o then_o the_o say_a recognisaunce_n or_o obligation_n to_o be_v void_a or_o else_o to_o stand_v in_o full_a strength_n &_o virtue_n and_o for_o the_o collection_n of_o the_o second_o payment_n of_o the_o say_a subsidy_n upon_o condition_n that_o if_o the_o say_a collectour_n his_o heir_n or_o executour_n do_v true_o content_v and_o pay_v to_o the_o use_n of_o the_o queen_n majesty_n her_o heir_n or_o successor_n in_o her_o receipt_n of_o the_o exchequer_n before_o the_o twenty_o day_n of_o february_n which_o shall_v be_v in_o the_o year_n of_o our_o lord_n god_n m.d.lxiii_o so_o much_o of_o the_o say_a sum_n of_o money_n allot_v and_o appoint_v to_o his_o collection_n as_o he_o shall_v collecte_n and_o gather_v and_o content_a and_o
