conservation_n of_o the_o peace_n and_o unity_n of_o this_o realm_n and_o that_o such_o person_n or_o person_n so_o to_o be_v name_v assign_v authorize_v and_o appoint_v by_o the_o say_a queen_n her_o heir_n and_o successor_n after_o the_o say_v letter_n patent_n to_o he_o or_o they_o make_v and_o deliver_v as_o be_v aforesaid_a shall_v have_v full_a power_n and_o authority_n by_o virtue_n of_o to_o be_v take_v by_o all_o man_n who_o hold_v any_o office_n or_o take_v from_o the_o queen_n her_o heir_n and_o successor_n any_o fee_n or_o wage_n within_o this_o realm_n or_o other_o her_o highness_n realm_n or_o domiminion_n the_o form_n and_o tenor_n of_o it_o be_v i_o a._n b._n do_v utter_o testify_v and_o declare_v in_o my_o conscience_n that_o the_o queen_n highness_n be_v the_o only_a supreme_a governor_n of_o this_o realm_n and_o all_o other_o her_o highness_n dominion_n and_o country_n as_o well_o in_o all_o spiritual_a or_o ecclesiastical_a thing_n or_o cause_n as_o temporal_a and_o that_o no_o foreign_a prince_n person_n prelate_n state_n or_o potentate_n have_v or_o aught_o to_o have_v any_o jurisdiction_n power_n superiority_n pre-eminence_n or_o authority_n ecclesiastical_a or_o spiritual_a within_o this_o realm_n and_o therefore_o i_o do_v utter_o renounce_v and_o forsake_v all_o foreign_a jurisdiction_n power_n superiority_n and_o authority_n and_o do_v promise_n that_o from_o henceforth_o i_o shall_v bear_v faith_n and_o true_a allegiance_n to_o the_o queen_n majesty_n her_o heir_n and_o lawful_a successor_n and_o to_o my_o power_n shall_v of_o the_o queen_n shall_v within_o 30._o day_n after_o the_o determination_n of_o the_o session_n of_o that_o parliament_n by_o write_v print_v teach_v etc._n etc._n maintain_v any_o foreign_a power_n or_o jurisdiction_n ecclesiastical_a or_o spiritual_a or_o shall_v advise_o put_v in_o use_v any_o such_o foreign_a power_n or_o jurisdiction_n within_o any_o of_o her_o highness_n dominion_n he_o and_o his_o aider_n abettor_n counsellor_n etc._n etc._n shall_v forfeit_v to_o the_o queen_n her_o heir_n and_o successor_n all_o his_o good_n and_o chattel_n as_o well_o real_a as_o personal_a if_o any_o person_n so_o convict_v be_v not_o worth_a in_o good_n and_o chattel_n the_o sum_n of_o 20_o s._n every_o such_o person_n upon_o conviction_n over_o and_o beside_o the_o forfeiture_n of_o his_o good_n and_o chattel_n shall_v suffer_v imprisonment_n by_o the_o space_n of_o a_o whole_a year_n without_o bail_n or_o mainprize_n and_o that_o all_o and_o every_o the_o benefice_n prebend_n and_o other_o ecclesiastical_a promotion_n and_o dignity_n of_o every_o person_n spiritual_a so_o offend_v and_o be_v attaint_n shall_v be_v utter_o void_a and_o the_o patron_n and_o donor_n may_v present_v as_o if_o the_o incumbent_n be_v actual_o dead_a for_o the_o second_o offence_n the_o party_n offend_v shall_v incur_v the_o danger_n of_o a_o praemunire_n for_o the_o three_o offence_n after_o conviction_n and_o attainder_n the_o party_n offend_v shall_v suffer_v death_n and_o forfeiture_n of_o all_o his_o good_n as_o in_o case_n of_o high_a treason_n the_o offender_n must_v be_v impeach_v for_o preach_v teach_v or_o speak_v any_o thing_n against_o the_o premise_n within_o a_o year_n after_o such_o preach_n teach_v or_o speak_v and_o if_o any_o person_n shall_v be_v imprison_v for_o preach_v teach_v or_o speak_v against_o this_o statute_n and_o if_o be_v not_o indict_v within_o the_o space_n of_o one_o half_a year_n next_o after_o his_o offence_n that_o he_o be_v discharge_v and_o set_v at_o liberty_n no_o matter_n of_o religion_n or_o cause_n ecclesiastical_a make_v by_o this_o parliament_n shall_v be_v judge_v error_n heresy_n schism_n or_o schismatical_a opinion_n such_o person_n as_o shall_v be_v authorize_v by_o letter_n patent_n under_o the_o broad-seale_a of_o england_n shall_v have_v jurisdiction_n power_n or_o authority_n spiritual_a to_o visit_v reform_v order_n or_o correct_v any_o error_n heresy_n schism_n abuse_n or_o enormity_n but_o by_o virtue_n of_o this_o act_n they_o have_v not_o authority_n to_o determine_v or_o adjudge_v any_o thing_n to_o be_v heresy_n but_o only_o such_o as_o heretofore_o have_v be_v determine_v by_o canonicall-scripture_n or_o the_o 4_o first_o general_a counsel_n or_o any_o
forty_o pound_n and_o for_o every_o year_n after_o the_o sum_n of_o sixty_o pound_n until_o he_o or_o she_o shall_v receive_v the_o sacrament_n as_o aforesaid_a and_o if_o he_o or_o she_o who_o have_v receive_v the_o sacrament_n as_o aforesaid_a shall_v after_o offend_v in_o not_o receive_v the_o sacrament_n as_o aforesaid_a by_o the_o space_n of_o one_o whole_a year_n that_o then_o he_o shall_v forfeit_v for_o every_o such_o offence_n the_o sum_n of_o sixty_o pound_n the_o one_o moiety_n to_o the_o king_n the_o other_o to_o he_o who_o will_v sue_v for_o the_o same_o in_o any_o of_o the_o they_o as_o well_o in_o place_n exempt_a as_o not_o exempt_a shall_v once_o every_o year_n present_v the_o monthly_a absence_n from_o church_n of_o all_o popish_a recusant_n within_o such_o town_n and_o parish_n and_o shall_v present_v the_o name_n of_o every_o of_o the_o child_n of_o the_o say_a recusant_n be_v above_o the_o age_n of_o nine_o year_n and_o as_o near_o as_o they_o can_v the_o age_n of_o the_o say_a child_n as_o also_o the_o name_n of_o the_o servant_n of_o the_o say_a recusant_n at_o the_o next_o general_n or_o quarter-session_n of_o that_o shire_n limit_n division_n or_o liberty_n all_o such_o presentment_n shall_v be_v record_v in_o the_o say_a session_n by_o the_o clerk_n of_o the_o peace_n or_o town-clerk_n for_o the_o time_n be_v without_o any_o fee_n and_o for_o default_n of_o every_o such_o presentment_n the_o say_a churchwarden_n constable_n or_o high-constable_n shall_v forfeit_v twenty_o shilling_n and_o for_o default_n of_o record_v such_o presentment_n without_o a_o fee_n the_o clerk_n of_o the_o peace_n or_o town-clerke_a shall_v forfeit_v 40._o s._n every_o presenement_n make_v by_o any_o churchwarden_n constable_n or_o high-constable_n as_o aforesaid_a whereby_o any_o recusant_n shall_v happen_v to_o be_v convict_v shall_v be_v reward_v by_o have_v 40._o s._n to_o be_v levy_v out_o of_o such_o recusants_n good_n and_o estate_n in_o such_o manner_n as_o by_o the_o more_o part_n of_o the_o justice_n shall_v be_v order_v by_o warrant_n under_o their_o hand_n and_o seal_n the_o justice_n of_o assiize_n and_o justice_n of_o quarter-session_n have_v power_n to_o hear_v and_o determine_v of_o all_o recusant_n as_o well_o for_o not_o receive_v the_o sacrament_n as_o for_o not_o come_v to_o church_n and_o have_v also_o power_n to_o make_v proclamation_n that_o the_o body_n of_o every_o such_o offendor_n shall_v be_v render_v to_o the_o sheriff_n of_o the_o county_n or_o the_o baylif_n or_o keeper_n of_o the_o goal_n of_o the_o liberty_n before_o the_o next_o assize_n general_n or_o quarter-session_n and_o if_o then_o the_o offendor_n shall_v not_o make_v his_o appearance_n upon_o record_n that_o every_o such_o default_n shall_v be_v deem_v as_o a_o sufficient_a conviction_n by_o verdict_n of_o 12_o man_n this_o statute_n recite_v the_o penalty_n impose_v by_o the_o 29_o eliz._n 6._o upon_o a_o recusant_n convict_v and_o that_o every_o conviction_n shall_v be_v certify_v into_o the_o exchequer_n as_o be_v in_o the_o statute_n of_o 23_o el._n 1._o concern_v recusant_n monthly_a forfeiture_n yet_o by_o this_o statute_n the_o king_n may_v refuse_v the_o 20_o l._n a_o month_n and_o take_v the_o 2_o part_n of_o the_o recusants_n land_n yet_o the_o king_n shall_v not_o take_v into_o his_o two_o part_n the_o mansion_n house_n nor_o shall_v demise_n nor_o lease_n over_o the_o 2_o three_o part_n or_o any_o part_n thereof_o to_o any_o recusant_n nor_o to_o the_o use_n of_o any_o recusant_n and_o whosoever_o shall_v take_v any_o lease_n of_o the_o king_n of_o such_o land_n shall_v give_v such_o security_n as_o the_o court_n of_o exchequer_n shall_v allow_v not_o to_o suffer_v any_o waste_n to_o be_v commit_v upon_o the_o premise_n for_o the_o better_a trial_n how_o the_o king_n subject_n stand_v affect_v in_o point_n of_o loyalty_n and_o due_a obedience_n it_o be_v enact_v that_o after_o the_o end_n of_o the_o session_n of_o parliament_n any_o bishop_n of_o the_o diocese_n or_o any_o two_o justice_n of_o peace_n whereof_o one_o of_o the_o quorum_fw-la within_o the_o jurisdiction_n of_o their_o session_n may_v require_v any_o person_n of_o the_o age_n of_o 18_o year_n or_o above_o be_v or_o which_o shall_v be_v convict_v or_o indict_v for_o any_o recusancy_n except_o nobleman_n and_o noble_a woman_n for_o not_o repair_v to_o divine_a service_n according_a to_o law_n or_o have_v not_o receive_v the_o sacrament_n twice_o within_o the_o year_n next_o pass_v or_o any_o person_n pass_v through_o the_o county_n or_o liberty_n and_o unknown_a except_o as_o be_v before_o except_v that_o be_v examine_v by_o they_o upon_o oath_n shall_v confess_v or_o not_o deny_v himself_o to_o be_v a_o recusant_n or_o shall_v confess_v or_o not_o deny_v that_o he_o have_v not_o take_v the_o sacrament_n twice_o within_o the_o year_n to_o take_v this_o oath_n hereafter_o upon_o the_o holy_a evangelist_n which_o say_v bishop_n or_o two_o justice_n shall_v certify_v in_o write_v subscribe_v with_o his_o or_o their_o hand_n at_o the_o next_o general_n or_o quarter-session_n the_o christian_a name_n surname_n and_o place_n of_o abode_n of_o every_o person_n which_o shall_v take_v the_o say_a oath_n which_o certificate_n shall_v be_v there_o record_v and_o keep_v among_o record_n of_o the_o say_a session_n if_o any_o person_n other_o than_o nobleman_n and_o noble_a woman_n shall_v refuse_v to_o answer_v upon_o oath_n to_o such_o bishop_n or_o
