understand_v such_o qualification_n the_o apostle_n have_v describe_v in_o the_o six_o verse_n say_v if_o any_o be_v blameless_a that_o be_v as_o a_o late_a writer_n gloss_v upon_o it_o approve_v by_o the_o testimony_n of_o the_o church_n to_o be_v under_o no_o scandalous_a sin_n the_o husband_n of_o one_o wife_n that_o be_v one_o who_o live_v not_o with_o a_o second_o wife_n after_o put_v away_o the_o intent_n of_o the_o apostle_n here_o plain_o be_v this_o partly_o to_o satisfy_v titus_n concern_v his_o leave_v he_o there_o as_o be_v for_o a_o purpose_n of_o a_o extrordinary_a concernment_n but_o chief_o to_o show_v the_o qualification_n of_o the_o person_n to_o be_v employ_v in_o correct_v and_o ordain_v upon_o who_o he_o set_v a_o honourable_a mark_n of_o distinction_n for_o his_o work_n sake_n call_v he_o bishop_n whereas_o the_o person_n or_o dain_v he_o have_v before_o distinguish_v by_o a_o title_n proper_a to_o their_o office_n call_v they_o presbyter_n this_o be_v one_o interpretation_n of_o the_o apostle_n meaning_n which_o i_o humble_o submit_v to_o the_o judgement_n of_o the_o church_n it_o be_v clear_a without_o any_o wrist_n or_o ambiguity_n and_o upon_o which_o it_o plain_o follow_v that_o bishop_n and_o presbyter_n be_v not_o one_o and_o the_o same_o but_o distinct_a in_o their_o office_n and_o it_o be_v hereby_o as_o plain_a likewise_o that_o the_o office_n of_o bishop_n distinct_a from_o that_o of_o a_o presbyter_n be_v of_o divine_a inslitution_n if_o this_o sense_n will_v not_o be_v allow_v by_o our_o opponent_n as_o for_o my_o part_n i_o know_v not_o why_o it_o shall_v be_v reject_v let_v they_o consider_v a_o second_o whereas_o the_o apostle_n say_v that_o he_o leave_v titus_n in_o crete_n to_o ordain_v elder_n in_o every_o city_n show_v in_o the_o six_o verse_n how_o they_o shall_v be_v qualify_v viz._n that_o they_o be_v blameless_a etc._n etc._n and_o thereupon_o allege_v his_o reason_n in_o the_o seven_o verse_n for_o a_o bishop_n must_v be_v blameless_a etc._n etc._n he_o impli_v the_o great_a care_n that_o titus_n shall_v have_v in_o ordain_v elder_n because_o from_o among_o they_o bishop_n be_v to_o be_v choose_v for_o the_o government_n of_o the_o church_n who_o it_o concern_v in_o regard_n of_o their_o power_n

one_o and_o the_o same_o take_v upon_o they_o to_o tax_v the_o apostle_n reason_v as_o inconsequential_a and_o his_o demand_n as_o they_o call_v it_o unjust_a unless_o he_o subscribe_v to_o their_o opinion_n which_o censure_n they_o be_v likewise_o please_v to_o stretch_v out_o further_o by_o a_o similitude_n according_a to_o their_o fancy_n if_o a_o chancellor_n say_v they_o in_o one_o of_o our_o university_n shall_v give_v order_n to_o his_o vicechancellor_n to_o admit_v none_o to_o the_o degree_n of_o a_o bachelor_n in_o art_n but_o such_o as_o be_v able_a to_o preach_v or_o keep_v a_o a_o presbyter_n but_o one_o that_o be_v blameless_a because_o a_o bishop_n who_o be_v to_o be_v choose_v out_o of_o the_o presbytery_n must_v be_v so_o i_o hope_v the_o divine_a spirit_n of_o this_o
