M. fiue hundred fortie fiue that is to say to the full end and accomplishment of as many yeares of the said terme as be yet to come mentioned in the said former and first Indenture of lease And for and in confideration of the bargaine graunt and sale aforesaid and for the vsage of the said stocke The said William H. couanteth and graunteth to and with the said Agnes by these presents that hee the same William his executors and assignes shall yearely during the said yeares yet to come well and truely content and pay and cause to bee contented and paid to the said Agnes her executors or assignes twentie Markes starling at foure termes of the yere that is to wit at the feast of Saint Michael the Archangell the Natiuitie of our Lord God the Annunciation of our Lady and the Natiuitie of S. Iohn the Bap. or within the moneth next insuing euery of the said feasts by euen portions Also the said W.H. couenanteth and granteth to and with the said Agnes by these presents that he his executors and assignes shall at the said feast of the Natiuitie of S. Iohn the Baptist which shall bee in the yere of our Lord God one thousand fiue hundred fortie sixe wel truely repay or cause to be repayed to the said Agnes her executors or assignes the said whole stocke of xl pounds sterling And the said W. H. couenanteth and graunteth by these presents to and with the said Agnes that he the same W. his executors or assignes shall beare and pay the said yearely rent of sixe pound and also performe and keepe all and euery articles couenants and charges which the said Iohn H. by the foresaid former Indenture or lease standeth bounden to performe and keepe And if it fortune any of the said yerely payments of twenty Markes to be behind vnpaid in part or in all ouer and after any terme of payment thereof abouesaid that it ought to be paid by the space of one Moneth if it be lawfully asked that then it shall bee lawfull to the said Agnes her executors or assignes in and vpon the said tenement and stocke wholy to reenter And the same as in her former estate to haue againe retaine and repossesse and the said W.H. his executors and assignes thereof and therefrom vtterly to expell amoue and put out This Indenture or any thing in the same contayned to the contrarie notwithstanding Furthermore it is couenanted and agreed betweene the said parties by these presents that the said Agnes at al times at her comming to London in her widowhood shall haue her lodging and libertie of the Chamber with the chimney ouer the hall of the said tenement with free entry and issue into and from the same without any let or contradiction of the said W.H. his executors or assignes during the foresaid yeares yet to come Moreouer the said Agnes couenanteth and graunteth to and with the said Willam H. by these presents that the same William his executors and assignes for and vnder the couenants graunts charges and payments abouesaid and in manner and forme aboue expressed shall peaceably and quietly haue hold occupie and inioy the said tenement and other the premisses without any maner interruption let or expulsion of the said Agnes her executors or assignes or of any other person or persons In witnesse whereof the said parties to these Indentures interchangeably haue set to their seales Giuen the twenty day of May c. ¶ A Supplication for a forfait to the King our Soueraigne Lord. MEekly sheweth vnto your Highnesse your humble seruants H. K and P. C. pages of your most honorable Chamber That whereas I. S. of N. in the Countie of N. yeoman and R. C. of the same Towne and Countie yeoman came before the Iustices of your peace within your said Countie and vndertooke by Recognusance before them that one W.M. of N. in the same Countie yeoman should not onely personally appeare before N. N. Knight and his fellowes Iustices of Peace of your said Countie at a generall Session then next to bee holden at Winchester within your said Countie the Thursday next after the feast of the Epiphanie of our Lord the xxxviij yere of your most noble Raigne but also that he should in the meane season keepe the peace against all your liege people and namely against I. B. widow either of them in the sum of ten pounds and the same W. M. vndertooke in likewise for him in the summe of twentie Markes like as in the said Recognisance more plainely appeareth at which day the said W. M. made default and appeared not by reason whereof the said I. C. and R. W. haue lost and forfaited vnto your highnesse either of them the summe of ten pound and the said W. M. twentie Markes Wherefore may it please your highnesse in consideration of the true and faithfull seruice which your said seruants daily do vnto your highnesse and during their liues intend to doe to giue and graunt vnto them all the sayd forfaiture forfaited as is abouesaid and thereupon to haue such and as many of your writings for the leuying of the same as in that case is accustomed And they shall euer pray to God for the preseruation of your most noble grace ¶ A priuie seale to the Treasorer and Chamberlain of the Exchequer for the same HEnry the eight c. To the Treasorer and Chamberlaine of our Exchequer greeting Whereas one I. S. of S. in the Countie of S. yeoman R. W. of the said towne countie vndertooke before our Iustices of the peace of the same County that W. Moore of R. in the Countie aforesaid yeoman should not onely personally appeare before R.L. knight other his fellowes Iustices of our peace in our said Countie at
the generall Session of the peace holden at Winchester the thursday after the feast of the Epiphanie of our Lord God in the eight and twenty yere of our raigne but also that hee should in the meane season keepe the peace against all our Itege people and namely against M.C. widow either of them in the summe of x. pound At which day the said W. Moore made default and appeared not by reason whereof the said William R. and R. W. haue lost and forfaited vnto vs either of thē the summe of tenne pound and the said W. M. hath also lost for himselfe the said sum of twentie Markes We let you wit that in consideration of the good seruice done vnto vs by our welbeloued seruants H. K and P. C. Swithine in the tenth yeare of our raigne as he by Recognisance vndertooke And where also I. V. of G. in the same County yeoman hath forfeyted vnto vs the summe of c. forasmuch as he appeared not before O. Pollard and other Iustices of our peace in our said countie of D. at Excester the Tewsday next after the feast of Saint S. in the x. yere of our raigne as hee by Recognisance before our sayd Iustices personally vndertooke And where also T. R. of I. in our sayd countie of Deuon yeoman one of the pledges of the said I. C. yeomen heretofore attached for suspicious of felony and committed to the ward and keeping of Sir Robert D. knight Sherife of our County of L. within our Castle for lacke of sure and safe keeping of the said sir Rob. the first day of Aprill in the thirtie and three yeare of our raigne negligently did escape out of our said Castle and tooke the priuiledge of Sanctuarie within the minster of L. by reason whereof the said sir Robert hath forfeited vnto vs for either of the said two prisoners C.s. amounting in the whole to x. pounds sterling We let you to wit that in consideration of the true and faithfull seruice which our welbeloued seruants N. Maior our Sadler N. Vale seruants to R. T. Searchers of your Port of L. seised for your gracious vse and their said Maister vpon the Thames xj peeces of kersey ij peeces of Satten and ij peeces of Worsted amounting in all by estimation to the value xvij x. vj. s. viij d. of the goods of certaine marchants vnknown for that that the said goods were shipped and carried forth from your said Port toward the parts beyond the Sea by way of Marchandise and your customes thereof due not paid The moitie of the value whereof being viij l. iij. s. and iiii d. rightfully belonging vnto your good grace as your part Wherfore may it please your highnesse in consideration of the true and faithfull seruice which your said seruant daily doth vnto your highnesse and during his life intendeth to doe to giue and graunt vnto him the said viij l. iij s. iiij d. beeing your part of the said forfeiture to bee taken to him for your gift and reward and thereupon to haue such and as many your writings

S. immediately pay or cause to be paid to the aboue named T. his heires or assignes c. as much good and lawfull money or other ware as shall amount to the summe of all that shal be lacking of the said xx li. in the goods plate and iewels afore rehearsed That then this present Obligation be of no value c. ¶ A Condition in a ioincture to giue estate in certain lands to the wife where there is none other Indenture made betweene parties THe condition of this obligation is such that if the within bounden W. R. c. or his heires at their owne proper costes and charges before the feast of Easter next after the date within written make or cause to be made vnto A. C. c. a good sure sufficient and lawfull estate in the Law of and in all and singuler those landes tenements c. with the appurtenances in the Citie of London of the yerely value of xl li. sterling ouer and aboue al charges and reprises to haue and to hold al the said landes tenements with the appurtenances vnto the said A. C. c. for terme of life of M.G. to the vse of the same M G. and to her assignes for terme of her life the which M. by the grace of God shall mary take to husband the said W. R. and also if the said W. R after the said estate of and in the lands and tenements afore rehearsed do suffer and cause to be done all euery thing things as shall bee aduised by the learned counsell of the said A. B. C. D. c. their heires executors to make the foresaid state sure to the aboue named A. B. to the vse of the same M. for terme of her life be it by recouery fines feoffements release confirmation and deeds introlled with warrantie or without warrantie or any of them That then c. ¶ A condition to performe a paire of Indentures THe condition c. that if the within bounden I. W. well and truely obserue fulfill and keep all and singuler grants promises and agreements on the part of the said I. W. E. his wife to bee obserued kept contained declared and specified in a payre of Indentures bearing date the x. day c. betweene the said I.W. of the one party and the within named R. S. on thother partie thereof made sealed and deliuered That then c. ¶ A Condition to saue a man harmelesse being suertie for another in a simple Obligation THe condition of this obligation c. that if the within bounden I C. from henceforth do saue and keepe harmlesse from all indictments losses actions troubles vexations the within named W.I. his heirs and executors against T.L.R.F. c. euery of them their heires c. of and from a certaine writing obligatory of the summe of xl l. wherein the said W.I. standeth bound as suertie for the said I.C. together with M N. of D. draper ioyntly and seuerally as by the same obligation plainlier appeareth that then this present obligation c. ¶ A condition of the peace for the good abearing THe condition c. if the within bounden S. T. personally appeare in the custodie of the Baily within writtē or of his deputie before the Iustices of our Soueraigne Lord the King c. the mōday next after the Natiuitie of S. Iohn Baptist c. at the towne c. to find there before the sayd Iustices good sufficient suerties of the peace to behaue and beare himselfe well and peaceably against our Soueraigne Lord his liege people and especially against A. B. in the meane time keepe the peace of our Soueraigne Lord. And so from henceforth saue keepe harmlesse the within named Baily c. for and concerning the premisses or any part of them that then c. ¶ A condition to be true prisoner THe condition c. that if I. H. marchant of S. Lukas which now is in the kings prison vnder keeping of the shirife within written as well by reason of a writ of our Soueraigne Lord the king of the statute of the staple containing the summe of C. l. sterling as also for certaine other actions causes and suits on the behalf of R. S. c. moued commenced be from henceforth true and faithfull prisoner tarrying remaining with the said shirife his deputies till the same I. H. be fully at an end discharged and acquited of the said actions and then content pay to the said shirife c. all and singuler costs charges fees other dueties in such cases heretofore accustomed to bee paid That then c. ¶ A condition for the fealing of acquitance or release of lands c. THe condition of this obligation is such that if the within bounden A. B. do cause I. M. Serieant at the Law and G. his wife before the feast of Easter next comming at the costes charges in the Law of the said A. by their sufficient deed in the Law to release remit and quite claime to the within named C. D. c. and their heires all their right title power interest which the said I. M. and E. his wife or eyther of them haue had or may haue of and in all such landes tenements c. That then c. ¶ The manner of making of acquitances in Latine and English ¶ An acquitance of a parcell of a summe NOuerint vniuersi per presents me A. B. c. recepisse habuisse die confectionis presentium de W. I. c. xx s. sterlingorum pro festo omnium Sanctorum anno domini c. in partem solutionis xx li. sterlingorum in quibus idem W. per scriptum suum obligatorium cum conditione in dorso eiusdem conscripta super eodem confecta mihi praefato A. tenetur obligatur De quibus quidem xx solid ' in partem solutionis maioris summae in eadem conditione specificatae fateor me bene fideliter esse solutū dictumque W. haeredes executores suos inde esse quietum per praesentes In cuius rei testimonium figillum meum praesentibus apposui Datum c. ¶ The forme of the same in English BE it knowen vnto al mē by these presents that I F. B. c. haue receiued and had the day of making of these presents of N. I. c. xx s. sterling afore the feast of Al-Saints last before the date within writtē in part of paimēt of xx li. sterling in which the said N. by his writing obligatorie with a condition in the backe thereof standeth holden and bounden to mee the said F.
