any_o part_n of_o this_o statute_n shall_v be_v commence_v within_o the_o year_n after_o the_o offence_n commit_v and_o do_v or_o otherwise_o no_o advantage_n or_o suit_n to_o be_v take_v and_o where_o any_o such_o forfeiture_n shall_v happen_v to_o be_v find_v court_n where_o such_o forfeiture_n shall_v be_v in_o any_o franchise_n or_o leet_n the_o lord_n to_o have_v one_o moiety_n or_o presence_n that_o it_o shall_v be_v lawful_a for_o every_o master_n to_o licence_v his_o or_o their_o servant_n to_o play_v at_o card_n die_n or_o table_n with_o their_o say_a master_n or_o with_o any_o other_o gentleman_n repair_v to_o their_o say_a master_n open_o in_o his_o or_o their_o house_n or_o in_o his_o or_o their_o presence_n according_a to_o his_o or_o their_o discretion_n great_a dishonour_n of_o god_n and_o of_o our_o nation_n the_o overthrow_n of_o many_o good_a art_n and_o munuall_a trade_n the_o disable_n of_o divers_a workman_n and_o the_o general_a impoverish_n of_o many_o good_a subject_n abusive_o waste_v the_o good_a creature_n of_o god_n be_v it_o therefore_o enact_v by_o the_o king_n most_o excellent_a majesty_n the_o lord_n and_o commons_o in_o this_o present_a parliament_n assemble_v and_o by_o the_o authority_n of_o the_o same_o that_o all_o and_o every_o person_n or_o person_n which_o after_o forty_o day_n next_o follow_v the_o end_n of_o this_o say_a statute_n as_o if_o he_o dwell_v within_o the_o city_n or_o town_n where_o the_o inn_n or_o alehouse_n be_v or_o proof_n of_o one_o witness_n to_o be_v tipple_a in_o any_o inn_n alehouse_n or_o victualling-house_n such_o person_n or_o person_n shall_v be_v from_o henceforth_o adjudge_v and_o construe_v to_o be_v within_o the_o say_a statute_n as_o if_o he_o or_o they_o have_v inhabit_v and_o dwell_v in_o the_o city_n town_n corporate_a market_n town_n village_n or_o hamlet_n where_o the_o say_a inn_n alehouse_n or_o victualling-house_n be_v or_o shall_v be_v where_o he_o or_o they_o shall_v be_v so_o find_v tipple_a and_o shall_v incur_v the_o like_a penalty_n and_o the_o same_o to_o be_v in_o such_o sort_n levy_v and_o dispose_v as_o in_o the_o say_a act_n be_v express_v concern_v such_o as_o there_o inhabit_v and_o penalty_n and_o shall_v incur_v the_o like_a penalty_n the_o voluntary_a confession_n of_o such_o person_n or_o person_n so_o offend_v before_o such_o as_o by_o the_o say_a statute_n be_v authorize_v to_o minister_v the_o oath_n shall_v suffice_v to_o convince_v themselves_o and_o after_o such_o confession_n the_o oath_n of_o such_o person_n or_o person_n so_o confess_v shall_v and_o may_v be_v take_v by_o such_o as_o by_o the_o say_a act_n have_v authority_n to_o minister_v a_o oath_n and_o shall_v be_v a_o sufficient_a proof_n against_o any_o other_o offend_v at_o that_o time_n and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v that_o any_o justice_n of_o peace_n in_o any_o after_o that_o any_o justice_n or_o head-officer_n upon_o his_o view_n confession_n of_o the_o party_n or_o proof_n of_o one_o witness_n upon_o oath_n before_o he_o shall_v have_v power_n to_o convince_v any_o person_n of_o drunkenness_n whereby_o such_o person_n so_o shilling_n within_o six_o day_n after_o conviction_n the_o offender_n to_o be_v commit_v to_o a_o constable_n or_o to_o be_v apprehend_v and_o open_o whip_v for_o the_o say_a offence_n as_o the_o justice_n shall_v limit_v or_o appoint_v offender_n shall_v not_o have_v sufficient_a good_n and_o chattel_n whereby_o the_o say_v twenty_o shilling_n may_v be_v levy_v by_o way_n of_o distress_n as_o or_o justice_n or_o other_o head_n officer_n before_o who_o the_o say_a offender_n shall_v be_v convict_v as_o aforesaid_a shall_v commit_v all_o and_o every_o the_o say_a offender_n or_o offender_n to_o some_o constable_n or_o constable_n or_o other_o inferior_a officer_n or_o officer_n of_o the_o city_n borough_n town_n parish_n or_o hamlet_n where_o the_o offence_n shall_v be_v commit_v or_o the_o party_n apprehend_v to_o be_v open_o whip_v for_o the_o say_a offence_n as_o the_o say_a justice_n or_o justice_n shall_v limit_v or_o appoint_v and_o be_v it_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n head_n officer_n to_o commit_v the_o constable_n or_o other_o inferior_a officer_n so_o refuse_v or_o not_o execute_v the_o say_a punishment_n by_o himself_o or_o some_o other_o to_o the_o common_a gaol_n of_o the_o say_a county_n city_n or_o town_n corporate_a there_o to_o remain_v without_o bail_n or_o mainprize_n until_o the_o say_a offender_n or_o offender_n shall_v be_v by_o the_o say_a constable_n or_o constable_n or_o other_o inferior_a officer_n so_o refuse_v or_o not_o execute_v the_o say_a punishment_n or_o some_o by_o he_o or_o their_o procurement_n punish_v and_o whip_v as_o be_v above_o limit_v and_o declare_v or_o until_o he_o or_o they_o so_o neglect_v or_o refuse_v shall_v have_v pay_v the_o sum_n of_o forty_o shilling_n of_o lawful_a free_v upon_o the_o second_o offence_n and_o conviction_n of_o a_o unlicensed_a alehousekeeper_n he_o or_o she_o shall_v be_v commit_v to_o the_o house_n of_o correction_n till_o by_o order_n of_o the_o justice_n in_o their_o general_a session_n he_o or_o she_o shall_v be_v free_v money_n of_o england_n unto_o the_o use_n of_o the_o poor_a of_o the_o parish_n for_o their_o say_a contempt_n and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v that_o if_o the_o say_a offender_n or_o offender_n be_v a_o unlicence_v alehousekeeper_n shall_v offend_v in_o any_o of_o the_o premise_n the_o second_o time_n and_o be_v thereof_o lawful_o convict_v in_o manner_n and_o form_n aforesaid_a that_o then_o the_o say_a mayor_n bailiff_n justice_n or_o justice_n of_o the_o peace_n or_o other_o head_n officer_n shall_v commit_v he_o her_z or_o they_o unto_o the_o house_n of_o correction_n there_o to_o remain_v for_o the_o space_n of_o one_o month_n and_o be_v deal_v withal_o as_o idle_a lewd_a and_o disorderly_a person_n and_o if_o such_o person_n or_o person_n shall_v again_o offend_v and_o shall_v be_v thereof_o convict_v as_o aforesaid_a that_o then_o the_o say_a offender_n or_o offender_n for_o every_o such_o offence_n shall_v be_v commit_v unto_o the_o say_a house_n of_o correction_n as_o aforesaid_a there_o to_o remain_v until_o by_o the_o order_n of_o the_o justice_n in_o their_o general_a session_n for_o the_o county_n city_n borough_n or_o franchise_n he_o she_o or_o they_o shall_v be_v deliver_v from_o thence_o provide_v always_o that_o such_o offender_n or_o offender_n as_o shall_v be_v again_o no_o offender_n have_v be_v once_o punish_v either_o by_o the_o former_a statute_n of_o ed._n 6._o or_o this_o statute_n shall_v be_v punish_v again_o punish_v by_o virtue_n of_o this_o act_n shall_v not_o be_v punish_v again_o for_o the_o same_o offence_n by_o the_o former_a act_n make_v in_o the_o five_o year_n of_o king_n edward_n the_o six_o afore_v mention_v and_o that_o such_o offender_n or_o offender_n as_o
