Forcyble entre ☞ Yf any man enter into landes and tenemen●es and kepe them with force the Iustyce of peace after they be complayned vnto shall take with them the power of the shyre go to the place where entre was made with force yf they fynde any that holdeth suche place forcybly the Iustyce shal comytte them to the next Gaole there to abyde as conuycte by the Recorde of the same Iustyces or Iustyce vnto the tyme they haue made fyne and raāsome to the kynge and that the shyre as well the Shyryffe as other shall be attendaunt to the sayde Iustyices of peace to go and streagth the sayde Iustyces to arreste mysdoers on payne of emprisonemēt and to make fine to the king And the same lawe and reason is for entres in to benefyces and offyces of the church the statutes is Anno. 15. Capi. 2. ¶ It is agreed that the statut of Anno decimo quinto Ry. 2. of forcyble entre Statute of forcyble entre shal be holden in all poyntes And bycause the sayde Statute extendeth nat to entces into tenementes in peasyble maner after kepte with forte or yf those persons that entred by force be voyded gone before the Iustyces of the Peace come It is agreed that yf any make suche forcyble entre into landes or tenementes or kepe them forcyably that after complaynte made to the Iustices of peace they and euery of them haue power to enquere therof in conuenyent place by theyr discrecyon at the costes of the partyes greued and the persones that made suche forcyble entres shal be presented or voyded And the sayde Iustyces of peace shall make theyr warrantes preceptes dyrected to the shyriffe of the same shyre c. to do come before them suffycient and indifferēt persons that dwel nerest to the sayd tenementes to enquere of suche entres and euery one that shal be so empanelled before the sayde Iustycers shall haue landes and tenementes to the value of .xl. s. by the yere aboue the charges And the shyrif shal retourne issues vpon euery of them the fyrste daye of returne of the precept .xi. s. the ii daye .xl. s. the .iii. C. s. at euery day after double And yf the shyriffe or baylyfe of franches hauynge returne of the kynges wrytte be slacke make nat execucyon of the sayd preceptes he shall lose for eurry defaute .xx. li. and make fyne to the kynge and as well Iustycers of peace as Iustyces of Ass haue power to heare determyne such default neclygences of the sayd shyryffes baylyffes as well by byll at the suyte of the partie as by endytement taken for the kynge onely And yf the shyryffe or baylyffe be duelye atteint in this behalfe by endytement or byll he that wyll sue for hym selfe and the kynge shal haue the half of the forfayture of .xx. li. with hys costes and expences And that suche proces shal be made against them as in an accion of Trespas with force An. 8. Roytius assemble ¶ Where any ryot rout or assēble of people is had agaynst the lawe two or thre of the Iustycers of the peace and the shyryffe or vndershyryffe shall take suche power of the shyre as shal be nede to arreste them and the same Iustices shyryffe vndershyriffe shal haue power to recorde the mater as they fynde it and the personnes beynge yll doers sha●be conuycte by theyr recorde And yf it happen the same yf doers to be departed before the Iustyces shyryffe and vndershyriffe come than they shal enquere therof within a moneth imm●diatly after such ryotte assemble or route of the people so done and they shal heare determyne it accordynge to the lame of the lande and yf the verdyte he nat founde within a moneth they shall certyfye the kynge or hys coūsel of all the circūstances within a moneth whiche certyfycat shal be of the same effecte as thoughe it had be foūde by twelue men And yf any mysdoers wyll trauers the mater than the certyfycat and the trauers shall be sente into the kynges Benthe there to be tried And the iustyce of peace dwel lynge most nere in any countye where any suche ryotte of people shal be here after togyther with the shyryffe or vndershyryffe of the same county● and also the iustyces of Assyse for the tyme that they shal be there in theyr Sessyons in case that any suche ryotte assemble or route shal be made in theyr presence shall do executyon of the sayde Statute ach● on payne to pay C. li. to the kyng as oft as they shal fau● to execute the same statute An. 13. Ca vlter ¶ Iustyces of the peace in euery shyre in two of theyr Sessyons holden bytwene Easter and Myghelmas shall make ꝓclamacyon by theyr discrecyon after the derthe of vytayles howe much a mason a carpenter a tayler and other craftes men workmen laborers shal take by the day as well in Auguste as in other tymes of the yere with meate and drynke or without meate and drynke bytwene the two Sessyons aforesayde And that euery man obeye these proclamacions from tyme to tyme as a thyng made by statute And all vitaylers shal be take theyr wynnynge after the discrecion and limittacyon of the sayd iustices of the peace on payne to be greuously punysshed after the discrecion of the sayd iustyces of peace where no payne a force tyme hath ben limitted on the sayd vitaylers Anno. 13. Fugitiue laborce ¶ Iustyces of the peace haue power to sende theyr wryties for fugityue laborers to eche shyryffe of this realme of Englande and to make suche proces as the statute requereth to bryng them before thē to answere to our soueraygne lorde the kynge and to the parties of the contemptes and trespasses done contrary to the ordinaunce and statutes in that behalfe prouyded in lyke maner as the sayde Iustyces haue power to sende to any shyryffe for theues end●ted before them And also that all the statutes and ordynaūces of laborers seruantes artyfycers made in tyme past and nat repelled b● exemplyfyed vnder the great seale and sent to euery shyre of the realme of Englande to proclayme them in full countie and after this proclamacyon so made the shyryffe shall cause the same exēplifycacyon to him directed to be delyuered to the Iustyces of the peace or to one of them to remayn with the same Iustyces that be or shal be for the better putrynge of the Statutes and ordynaunce in execucyon And that Iustyces of peace in euery countye named of the Quorum be resseant within the same coūtye excepte Lordes named in the commyssyon and also excepte Iustyces of the one henche of the other the chyefe baron of the Escheker

Capi. 6. ☞ Also those beggers that ben impotent to serue Beggers impotent shal be abydynge in those Cytyes and townes where they dwelled and nat to begge out therof but yf so be the Cities and townes may nat or wyl nat fynde them than they shall goo into some other Cyties and townes withe in the hundreth or wapentake or towne where they were before and the Statute therof is vt supra ¶ Iustyces of Peace of all and synguler the shyres of Englande Biggers shal as often as nede shal requyre deuyde them selues within the lymyttes of theyr commyssyons and make dilygent serche and enquerie of all aged poore and impotent persons compelled of necessytie to lyue by almes and after and vpon suche serche made shall enable to begge within the lymyttes of theyr deuisyons suche of the sayde impotent persons as they shall thynke conuenyente to lyue of the charytie and almes of the people and commaunde the sayde aged and impotent persons by them enabled that none of them begge without the lymyttes to them appoynted and shall regester and wrytte the names in a byll or rolle indenced of euery such aged and impotent personne the one parte to remayne with them selfe and the other in the kepynge of the Custos rocu●orum And by cause it is ouer longe here to resyte al that Iustyces of peace are bounde to do cōcernynge aged poore impotent persons and stronge valyam beggers I referre them to the statute in that case prouyded Anno. 32. For ertinguyshing of the byshoppe of Rome ¶ Item of al offences contemptes and transgressyons commytted and done contrarye is the acte made to extynguysshe the auctorytie of the bysshop of Rome for they that offende shal incurre and ronne into the daungers penaltyes paynes and forfaytures ordeyned and prouyded by the statute of prouisyon and Premunire made in the syxtene yere of kynge Rycharde the seconde a gaynst suche as attempte ꝓcure or make prouisyon to the see of Rome or els where for any thynge to the derogacyon or contrarye to the prerogatyue royall or iurisdiccion of the crowne and dignite of thy● realme And the Iustyces of the peace shall certifye euery presentment afore them hadde o● made hefore the Kynge in hys benche with●● xl dayes nexte after any suche presentment● had or made yf the terme be then open yf nat than the fyrste daye of the terme nexte folowynge the sayde .xl. dayes vpon payne that euery Iustyce of assyse or peace before whom suche presentmēt shal be made makynge defaute of suche certifycat shal lose and forfayte forty poūde to the Kynges hyghnes Anno. visecimo octauo Henrici octaui Capi. 10. ¶ Also of them that sel wynes aboue the pryce ●ymytted by the Statute that is Gaskoyne Wynes Guyon or Frenche wynes aboue .viii. pens the galon that is to saye a peny the pynte .ii. pens ●he quart foure pens the pottell and .viii pēs the galon the forfayture is for euery pynte solde aboue the sayde pryce foure d. for euery quart ●yght pens for euery pottell twelue pens and for euery galon so solde aboue the sayde pryce two shyllynges And that no malmeseys rom●●ys sackes nor other swete wynes shall be ●olde by retayle aboue .xii. pens the galon .vi. d. ●he pottell .iii. d. the quart and .i. d. ob the pynt ●pon payne to lose and forfayte .iii. s̄ iiii d. for ●uery galon .xx. d. for euery pottell .xii. d. for eue●y quart
