probable_o do_v what_o inconvenience_n what_o danger_n must_v fall_v upon_o this_o kingdom_n from_o the_o power_n and_o the_o neighbourhood_n of_o that_o you_o all_o must_v imagine_v they_o do_v likewise_o consider_v this_o that_o in_o the_o distraction_n among_o ourselves_o what_o advantage_n foreign_a state_n may_v take_v when_o our_o own_o hand_n be_v weaken_v and_o a_o desolation_n upon_o the_o kingdom_n universal_o through_o the_o whole_a kingdom_n those_o that_o do_v malign_v our_o religion_n and_o their_o conscience_n direct_v they_o to_o destroy_v it_o as_o well_o as_o their_o have_v a_o consideration_n of_o the_o whole_a kingdom_n that_o have_v so_o long_o continue_v in_o peace_n in_o the_o blessing_n of_o peace_n so_o long_o in_o the_o bed_n of_o peace_n and_o in_o the_o arm_n of_o peace_n for_o this_o hundred_o year_n there_o have_v be_v no_o civil_a division_n nor_o distraction_n within_o this_o kingdom_n and_o those_o abundance_n that_o peace_n have_v procure_v and_o those_o happiness_n likely_a to_o be_v devour_v in_o any_o state_n by_o the_o sword_n of_o war_n as_o in_o every_o part_n of_o the_o kingdom_n already_o you_o see_v how_o it_o begin_v to_o destroy_v with_o what_o height_n with_o what_o power_n with_o what_o insolency_n these_o be_v consideration_n that_o have_v make_v they_o believe_v that_o as_o it_o be_v a_o duty_n to_o god_n it_o be_v that_o which_o they_o owe_v likewise_o to_o the_o king_n it_o be_v that_o that_o they_o owe_v to_o the_o kingdom_n in_o which_o they_o have_v be_v bear_v and_o breed_v it_o be_v likewise_o a_o discharge_n of_o their_o own_o conscience_n that_o every_o body_n may_v see_v that_o it_o be_v not_o their_o fault_n if_o peace_n be_v not_o procure_v but_o though_o they_o be_v thus_o resolve_v and_o upon_o these_o reason_n to_o offer_v a_o petition_n and_o to_o seek_v peace_n by_o all_o the_o way_n that_o be_v possible_a yet_o they_o have_v command_v i_o to_o let_v you_o know_v that_o as_o they_o desire_v peace_n they_o will_v prepare_v for_o war_n they_o have_v give_v direction_n that_o this_o day_n my_o lord_n general_n shall_v carry_v out_o his_o army_n out_o of_o the_o city_n there_o be_v begin_n of_o this_o war_n to_o this_o time_n for_o we_o shall_v never_o have_v step_v one_o step_n towards_o war_n if_o we_o may_v have_v have_v or_o hope_v for_o such_o a_o peace_n as_o may_v have_v secure_v religion_n and_o liberty_n and_o the_o public_a good_a of_o the_o kingdom_n but_o true_o ill_a counsel_n do_v exclude_v we_o from_o such_o hope_n we_o now_o conceive_v that_o the_o king_n have_v see_v the_o courage_n of_o his_o subject_n have_v see_v the_o danger_n of_o his_o own_o person_n so_o much_o blood_n shed_v about_o he_o that_o he_o will_v be_v more_o tractable_a to_o good_a condition_n of_o peace_n than_o he_o will_v have_v be_v before_o and_o that_o be_v the_o reason_n why_o we_o do_v think_v fit_a to_o try_v he_o once_o more_o after_o this_o battle_n that_o have_v be_v the_o best_a purpose_n which_o you_o may_v rest_v assure_v the_o parliament_n have_v do_v and_o though_o we_o desire_v peace_n very_o much_o yet_o a_o peace_n to_o betray_v religion_n and_o to_o betray_v our_o liberty_n we_o shall_v always_o esteem_v worse_o than_o war_n therefore_o we_o shall_v put_v it_o to_o a_o very_a quick_a issue_n if_o the_o king_n receive_v the_o petition_n to_o make_v such_o proposition_n as_o you_o may_v see_v whether_o you_o shall_v be_v secure_v in_o your_o religion_n in_o your_o religion_n with_o a_o hope_n of_o reformation_n such_o a_o reformation_n as_o may_v maintain_v the_o power_n of_o religion_n and_o the_o purity_n of_o religion_n aswell_o as_o the_o name_n of_o religion_n for_o we_o shall_v not_o be_v content_v with_o the_o name_n without_o a_o reformation_n that_o shall_v maintain_v the_o power_n of_o it_o and_o we_o shall_v pursue_v the_o maintenance_n of_o our_o liberty_n liberty_n that_o may_v not_o only_o be_v the_o law_n and_o statute_n but_o liberty_n that_o may_v be_v in_o practice_n and_o in_o execution_n and_o to_o take_v such_o course_n that_o you_o may_v have_v the_o effect_n of_o they_o in_o truth_n for_o to_o have_v print_v liberty_n and_o not_o to_o have_v liberty_n in_o truth_n and_o reality_n be_v but_o to_o mock_v the_o kingdom_n and_o i_o hope_v we_o shall_v take_v care_n for_o that_o in_o the_o second_o place_n and_o we_o shall_v take_v care_n to_o maintain_v the_o dignity_n and_o the_o honour_n of_o parliament_n for_o that_o be_v that_o that_o will_v be_v a_o last_a security_n to_o you_o in_o your_o liberty_n and_o religion_n we_o shall_v take_v care_n in_o the_o four_o place_n to_o answer_v the_o affection_n of_o the_o city_n of_o london_n that_o we_o will_v not_o consent_v to_o any_o thing_n that_o shall_v be_v prejudicial_a to_o they_o we_o will_v preserve_v they_o in_o the_o high_a degree_n of_o honour_n that_o ever_o this_o city_n of_o london_n be_v in_o and_o true_o it_o have_v not_o this_o peace_n our_o life_n our_o pain_n our_o estate●_n they_o shall_v all_o join_v with_o you_o in_o maintain_v that_o with_o the_o sword_n which_o we_o shall_v not_o get_v in_o a_o such_o a_o peace_n without_o further_a hazard_n and_o bloodshedding_n we_o shall_v praise_v god_n and_o esteem_v it_o as_o a_o great_a blessing_n but_o if_o not_o pray_v lay_v not_o down_o the_o
