whensoever_o any_o letter_n of_o direction_n shall_v come_v to_o any_o of_o their_o parish_n for_o this_o his_o majesty_n important_a service_n that_o they_o forth_o with_o without_o excuse_n or_o delay_n furnish_v the_o messenger_n who_o shall_v bring_v any_o such_o letter_n with_o post-horse_n from_o place_n to_o place_n and_o that_o the_o high_a constable_n do_v present_o upon_o sight_n hereof_o with_o every_o division_n of_o two_o hundred_o soldier_n warn_v twentieable_a and_o sufficient_a labourer_n for_o pioner_n to_o appear_v before_o the_o deputie-lieutenant_n next_o adjoin_v to_o that_o division_n to_o be_v enroll_v for_o pioner_n and_o that_o the_o say_v pioner_n so_o enroll_v be_v also_o ready_a at_o a_o hour_n warning_n to_o repair_v unto_o such_o place_n of_o rendezvous_n as_o the_o captain_n within_o that_o division_n shall_v appoint_v for_o his_o soldier_n and_o that_o every_o pioneer_n carry_v with_o he_o to_o the_o say_a place_n of_o rendezvous_n his_o spade_n pickaxe_n shovell_n hatchet_n and_o bill_n and_o for_o that_o it_o will_v be_v a_o great_a charge_n to_o the_o country_n to_o buy_v so_o many_o spade_n pickaxe_n and_o the_o rest_n not_o know_v certain_o whether_o there_o shall_v be_v occasion_n to_o use_v they_o and_o that_o in_o time_n they_o be_v likely_a to_o be_v lose_v that_o therefore_o every_o high_a constable_n do_v take_v order_n that_o in_o every_o parish_n where_o any_o such_o pioneer_n so_o enrol_v as_o aforesaid_a shall_v dwell_v the_o inhabitant_n of_o the_o say_a parish_n shall_v either_o provide_v for_o they_o pay_v if_o there_o be_v use_v of_o they_o by_o a_o general_a charge_n and_o that_o the_o say_v high_a constable_n give_v a_o account_n to_o the_o deputy_n lieutenant_n next_o adjoin_v what_o order_n the_o inhabitant_n of_o the_o say_a parish_n have_v take_v for_o have_v the_o say_a spade_n etc._n etc._n in_o a_o readiness_n for_o that_o if_o a_o army_n shall_v march_v it_o will_v be_v very_o troublesome_a for_o the_o carriage_n especial_o of_o ordnance_n to_o travel_v in_o respect_n of_o the_o great_a decay_n of_o high_a way_n in_o this_o county_n that_o therefore_o the_o inhabitant_n of_o every_o parish_n be_v careful_a present_o to_o mend_v their_o high_a way_n and_o especial_o to_o scour_v their_o ditch_n and_o lop_v the_o tree_n grow_v upon_o the_o high_a way_n that_o upon_o any_o sudden_a occasion_n the_o great_a defect_n in_o the_o high_a way_n be_v no_o impediment_n to_o the_o safety_n and_o welfare_n of_o this_o kingdom_n 9_o his_o majesty_n out_o of_o his_o royal_a and_o tender_a care_n of_o the_o peace_n and_o safety_n as_o well_o of_o every_o one_o of_o his_o love_a subject_n in_o particular_a as_o of_o the_o whole_a kingdom_n in_o general_a have_v give_v we_o strict_a commandment_n by_o several_a letter_n from_o the_o right_n honourable_a the_o lord_n of_o his_o counsel_n to_o deal_v serious_o with_o the_o best_a fort_n of_o man_n to_o provide_v themselves_o arm_n for_o their_o particular_a use_n which_o according_o we_o do_v hereby_o pray_v and_o desire_v all_o person_n that_o have_v any_o thing_n to_o lose_v serious_o to_o take_v the_o same_o into_o their_o consideration_n and_o to_o provide_v themselves_o of_o some_o competent_a arm_n for_o the_o defence_n of_o their_o wife_n house_n and_o family_n from_o the_o danger_n of_o person_n ill-affected_a in_o religion_n or_o otherwise_o riotous_a and_o disorderly_a at_o such_o time_n as_o the_o train_v force_n shall_v be_v draw_v from_o the_o place_n of_o their_o habitation_n and_o therefore_o that_o all_o high_a constable_n &_o petty_a constable_n be_v careful_a to_o watch_v for_o to_o apprehend_v and_o punish_v all_o vagrant_a and_o idle_a person_n as_o live_v not_o in_o any_o lawful_a vocation_n and_o in_o time_n of_o suspicion_n and_o trouble_n may_v either_o by_o tale_n and_o false_a tumor_n distract_v the_o people_n mind_n or_o by_o way_n of_o fact_n commit_v insolence_n or_o outrage_n or_o minister_v the_o occasion_n by_o their_o loose_a example_n or_o unlawful_a combination_n wherein_o there_o may_v arise_v much_o disadvantage_n to_o his_o majesty_n service_n and_o quiet_a of_o the_o people_n and_o that_o therefore_o as_o well_o the_o high_a and_o petty_a constable_n as_o all_o other_o his_o majesty_n love_a subject_n do_v upon_o the_o least_o notice_n or_o suspicion_n of_o any_o such_o dangerous_a person_n advertise_v some_o justice_n of_o peace_n or_o deputy-lieutenant_n that_o they_o may_v be_v suppress_v and_o punish_v according_a to_o their_o demerit_n 10._o that_o the_o high_a constable_n within_o every_o several_a hundred_o do_v forthwith_o send_v into_o every_o parish_n within_o their_o division_n require_v the_o petty_a
