prevent_v of_o such_o accident_n for_o the_o future_a and_o damage_n and_o loss_n thereby_o be_v it_o ordain_v and_o enact_v by_o the_o governour-council_n and_o representative_n convene_v in_o general_a court_n or_o assembly_n and_o it_o be_v enact_v by_o the_o authority_n of_o the_o same_o that_o henceforth_o no_o dwelling_n house_n slate_n building_n in_o boston_n to_o be_v of_o brick_n or_o stone_n and_o cover_v with_o slate_n shop_n warehouse_n barn_n stable_a or_o any_o other_o house_n of_o more_o than_o eight_o foot_n in_o length_n or_o breadth_n and_o seven_o foot_n in_o height_n shall_v be_v erect_v and_o set_v up_o in_o boston_n but_o of_o stone_n or_o brick_n and_o cover_v with_o slate_n or_o tyle_n unless_o in_o particular_a case_n where_o necessity_n require_v be_v so_o judge_v and_o signify_v in_o write_v under_o the_o hand_n of_o the_o justice_n and_o select-man_n of_o the_o say_a town_n or_o major_a part_n of_o both_o the_o governor_n with_o the_o happen_v to_o regulate_v and_o enlarge_v other_o narrow_a and_o crooked_a lane_n or_o passage_n and_o where_o any_o particular_a person_n shall_v have_v their_o land_n take_v away_o or_o lessen_v either_o on_o board_n or_o on_o shore_n after_o the_o same_o have_v be_v so_o seal_v and_o mark_v by_o the_o packer_n and_o ship_n and_o export_v the_o same_o the_o packer_n have_v not_o allow_v thereof_o and_o anew_o seal_v and_o mark_v the_o cask_n where_o into_o such_o provision_n be_v shift_v all_o person_n act_v order_v or_o assist_v therein_o shall_v be_v set_v in_o the_o pillory_n may_v probable_o discover_v the_o condition_n of_o the_o whole_a and_o if_o any_o be_v decay_v or_o deceitful_o deal_v with_o the_o packer_n shall_v cull_v and_o repack_v the_o same_o so_o as_o to_o distinguish_v and_o mark_v they_o for_o merchantable_a or_o refuse_v according_a to_o their_o condition_n and_o if_o those_o who_o ship_n or_o export_v any_o such_o provision_n shall_v neglect_v or_o refuse_v such_o second_o search_n or_o survey_v the_o packer_n be_v hereby_o order_v and_o empower_v to_o deface_v his_o former_a mark_n and_o for_o so_o do_v shall_v be_v pay_v as_o if_o he_o have_v repackt_v the_o same_o and_o if_o the_o owner_n refuse_v to_o satisfy_v the_o packer_n such_o packer_n shall_v have_v redress_n on_o complaint_n to_o any_o justice_n of_o the_o peace_n who_o be_v hereby_o empower_v to_o compel_v the_o payment_n thereof_o by_o distress_n and_o it_o be_v further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o all_o tarr_n that_o shall_v be_v expose_v to_o sale_n within_o this_o province_n tarr_n assize_n of_o cask_n for_o tarr_n shall_v be_v in_o barrel_n half_a barrel_n and_o three_o of_o a_o barrel_n of_o the_o measure_n and_o assize_n follow_v that_o be_v to_o say_v the_o barrel_n to_o contain_v thirty_o gallon_n the_o half_a barrel_n and_o three_o of_o a_o barrel_n of_o the_o same_o cage_n proportionable_o and_o in_o no_o other_o cask_n whatsoever_o and_o all_o cask_n to_o be_v make_v of_o the_o same_o assize_n and_o brand_v by_o the_o cooper_n as_o aforesaid_a on_o pain_n of_o forfeiture_n of_o all_o such_o cask_n as_o be_v not_o of_o due_a assize_n and_o if_o any_o tarr_n shall_v be_v expose_v to_o sale_n in_o any_o cask_n not_o brand_v as_o aforesaid_a the_o same_o shall_v be_v likewise_o forfeit_v and_o further_o it_o be_v enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a informer_n one_o half_n of_o the_o fine_n &_o forfeiture_n to_o be_v unto_o their_o majesty_n and_o the_o other_o half_a to_o the_o informer_n that_o all_o fine_n penalty_n and_o forfeiture_n arise_v by_o force_n and_o virtue_n of_o this_o act_n shall_v be_v the_o one_o half_a to_o their_o majesty_n towards_o the_o support_n of_o the_o government_n of_o this_o province_n and_o the_o other_o half_a to_o he_o or_o they_o that_o shall_v inform_v and_o sue_v for_o the_o same_o in_o any_o of_o their_o majesty_n court_n of_o record_n within_o this_o province_n be_v it_o further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a fish_n measurer_n of_o salt_n and_o culler_n of_o fish_n that_o there_o be_v a_o measurer_n of_o salt_n and_o grill_a of_o fish_n in_o every_o seaport_n town_n within_o this_o province_n to_o be_v appoint_v as_o aforesaid_a who_o be_v likewise_o swear_v for_o the_o faithful_a discharge_n of_o that_o office_n shall_v cull_v all_o merchantable_a fish_n and_o measure_v all_o salt_n that_o shall_v be_v import_v and_o sell_v out_o of_o any_o ship_n or_o other_o vessel_n and_o shall_v have_v three-halfe-pence_n for_o every_o hogshead_n of_o salt_n by_o he_o so_o measure_v to_o be_v pay_v the_o one_o half_a by_o the_o buyer_n the_o other_o half_o by_o the_o seller_n and_o one_o penny_n per_fw-la quintal_n for_o every_o quintal_n of_o merchantable_a fish_n by_o he_o cull_v to_o be_v pay_v one_o half_a by_o the_o buyer_n and_o the_o other_o half_a by_o the_o seller_n a_o act_n for_o the_o punish_n of_o criminal_a offender_n be_v it_o enact_v and_o ordain_v by_o the_o governor_n council_n and_o representative_n in_o general_a court_n assemble_v and_o by_o the_o authority_n of_o the_o same_o swear_v curse_v and_o swear_v that_o if_o any_o person_n or_o person_n shall_v profane_o swear_v or_o curse_n in_o the_o hear_n of_o any_o justice_n of_o the_o peace_n or_o shall_v be_v thereof_o convict_v by_o the_o oath_n of_o two_o witness_n or_o confession_n of_o the_o party_n before_o any_o justice_n or_o justice_n of_o the_o peace_n every_o such_o offender_n shall_v forfeit_v and_o pay_v unto_o the_o use_n of_o the_o poor_a of_o the_o town_n where_o the_o offence_n shall_v be_v commit_v the_o sum_n of_o five_o shilling_n and_o if_o the_o offender_n be_v not_o able_a to_o pay_v the_o say_a sum_n then_o to_o be_v set_v in_o the_o stock_n not_o exceed_v two_o hour_n and_o if_o any_o person_n shall_v utter_v more_o profane_a oath_n or_o curse_n at_o the_o same_o time_n and_o in_o hear_v or_o commit_v the_o offender_n until_o the_o fine_a impose_v for_o such_o offence_n be_v satisfy_v or_o to_o cause_v the_o same_o to_o be_v levy_v by_o distress_n and_o sale_n of_o the_o offender_n the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o whosoever_o shall_v steal_v or_o purloin_v any_o money_n good_n or_o chattel_n these_o these_o be_v thereof_o convict_v by_o confession_n or_o sufficient_a witness_n upon_o oath_n every_o such_o offender_n shall_v forfeit_v treble_a the_o value_n of_o the_o money_n good_n or_o chattel_n so_o steal_v or_o purloin_v unto_o the_o owner_n or_o owner_n to_o any_o land_n tenement_n or_o

as_o shall_v come_v or_o be_v send_v for_o nurse_n or_o education_n or_o to_o any_o physician_n or_o chirurgeon_n to_o be_v heal_v or_o cure_a but_o the_o particular_a person_n who_o receive_v and_o entertain_v any_o such_o shall_v be_v the_o town_n security_n in_o their_o behalf_n and_o be_v oblige_v to_o relieve_v and_o support_v they_o in_o case_n of_o need_n upon_o complaint_n make_v to_o the_o quarter_n session_n who_o shall_v according_o order_v the_o same_o and_o it_o be_v further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o any_o person_n orderly_o warn_v as_o aforesaid_a to_o depart_v any_o town_n whereof_o he_o be_v not_o a_o inhabitant_n and_o neglect_v so_o to_o do_v by_o the_o space_n of_o fourteen_o day_n next_o after_o such_o warning_n give_v constable_n person_n warn_v out_o of_o any_o town_n to_o depart_v in_o 14_o day_n or_o else_o to_o be_v send_v by_o the_o constable_n may_v by_o warrant_n from_o the_o next_o justice_n of_o the_o peace_n be_v send_v and_o convey_v from_o constable_n to_o constable_n unto_o the_o town_n where_o he_o proper_o belong_v or_o have_v his_o last_o residence_n at_o his_o own_o charge_n if_o able_a to_o pay_v the_o constable_n or_o constable_n of_o such_o town_n by_o order_n from_o the_o select-man_n or_o major_a part_n of_o they_o or_o of_o the_o town_n clerk_n by_o their_o
order_n in_o each_o respective_a town_n within_o this_o province_n shall_v warn_v a_o meeting_n of_o such_o town_n have_v order_n for_o the_o same_o in_o write_v on_o pain_n that_o every_o constable_n neglect_v his_o duty_n in_o that_o respect_n and_o be_v thereof_o convict_v before_o one_o justice_n of_o the_o peace_n shall_v forfeit_v the_o sum_n of_o twenty_o shilling_n neglect_v penalty_n for_o and_o copper_n weight_n and_o measure_n former_o send_v out_o of_o england_n with_o certificate_n out_o of_o their_o majesty_n exchequer_n to_o be_v approve_v winchester_n measure_n according_a to_o the_o standard_n in_o the_o exchequer_n be_v the_o public_a allow_v standard_n throughout_o this_o their_o majesty_n province_n for_o the_o prove_v and_o seal_v all_o weight_n and_o measure_n pound_n after_o sixteen_o ounce_n to_o the_o pound_n with_o fit_a scale_n and_o steel_n beam_n try_v and_o prove_v by_o the_o aforesaid_a standard_n and_o seal_v by_o the_o treasurer_n or_o his_o make_v by_o the_o prisoner_n or_o person_n in_o his_o behalf_n shall_v refuse_v to_o deliver_v or_o within_o the_o space_n of_o six_o hour_n after_o demand_n shall_v not_o deliver_v to_o the_o person_n so_o demand_v a_o true_a copy_n of_o the_o warrant_n or_o warrant_n of_o commitment_n and_o detainer_n of_o such_o prisoner_n which_o he_o &_o they_o be_v hereby_o require_v to_o deliver_v
