and_o the_o like_a violation_n of_o the_o liberty_n and_o freedom_n essential_a to_o all_o the_o member_n of_o parliament_n whereby_o the_o bishop_n be_v necessitate_v to_o omit_v the_o discharge_n of_o their_o duty_n in_o the_o house_n of_o peer_n according_a to_o their_o ancient_a right_n before_o the_o name_n of_o parliament_n be_v know_v in_o england_n and_o according_a to_o the_o several_a writ_n by_o which_o they_o be_v summon_v to_o that_o parliament_n twelve_o of_o they_o whereof_o this_o reverend_a person_n be_v one_o meet_v together_o to_o consult_v and_o advise_v how_o they_o may_v make_v the_o discharge_n of_o their_o duty_n and_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o their_o safety_n consist_v together_o agree_v upon_o a_o petition_n to_o the_o king_n wherein_o they_o do_v remonstrate_v some_o of_o those_o violence_n offer_v to_o their_o person_n and_o the_o just_a fear_n they_o be_v in_o by_o those_o tumult_n and_o do_v protest_v their_o dissent_n from_o all_o law_n which_o shall_v be_v enact_v till_o they_o may_v attend_v the_o service_n of_o the_o house_n with_o freedom_n and_o safety_n and_o the_o nullity_n of_o they_o that_o shall_v be_v make_v while_o the_o parliament_n be_v under_o such_o a_o force_n as_o themselves_o and_o their_o brethren_n be_v one_o of_o the_o three_o estate_n can_v not_o attend_v the_o service_n of_o the_o house_n without_o the_o apparent_a hazard_n of_o their_o life_n or_o to_o this_o effect_n 86._o and_o though_o it_o be_v the_o know_v and_o continual_a practice_n of_o the_o house_n of_o peer_n that_o any_o one_o member_n of_o it_o may_v enter_v his_o dissent_n upon_o record_n from_o any_o thing_n he_o dislike_v though_o it_o have_v already_o pass_v the_o house_n yet_o be_v this_o protestation_n of_o the_o dissent_n of_o all_o these_o twelve_o reverend_a bishop_n aggravate_v with_o so_o much_o virulence_n by_o the_o leader_n of_o the_o faction_n as_o to_o get_v they_o charge_v with_o high_a treason_n by_o the_o house_n of_o commons_o for_o it_o and_o commit_v to_o prison_n upon_o it_o and_o yet_o after_o they_o have_v get_v the_o bill_n to_o pass_v against_o the_o bishop_n sit_v in_o parliament_n they_o let_v the_o accusation_n fall_v without_o ever_o draw_v it_o into_o a_o formal_a impeachment_n as_o be_v ashamed_a of_o ever_o have_v it_o bring_v unto_o a_o legal_a trial_n where_o council_n may_v be_v hear_v on_o both_o side_n and_o upon_o this_o occasion_n do_v this_o reverend_a bishop_n and_o the_o rest_n suffer_v about_o four_o month_n imprisonment_n though_o it_o be_v true_a indeed_o the_o place_n of_o he_o and_o the_o bishop_n of_o lichfield_n and_o coventries_n imprisonment_n be_v the_o house_n of_o the_o usher_n of_o the_o black_a rod_n whereas_o
