child_n for_o this_o be_v such_o a_o affection_n as_o be_v to_o be_v set_v upon_o their_o own_o propriety_n and_o not_o any_o beside_o object_n but_o this_o may_v seem_v a_o needless_a precept_n for_o be_v it_o not_o natural_a for_o woman_n to_o love_v their_o husband_n and_o child_n or_o can_v a_o woman_n â—ate_z she_o own_o flesh_n can_v the_o member_n but_o love_n the_o head_n or_o can_v any_o monster_n of_o woman_n so_o far_o loose_a natural_a instinct_n as_o to_o forget_v the_o fruit_n of_o her_o womb_n solomon_n command_v the_o child_n to_o be_v divide_v know_v out_o of_o his_o wisdom_n that_o nature_n can_v not_o but_o work_n and_o bewray_v itself_o in_o one_o of_o the_o party_n answ._n many_o by_o god_n just_a judgement_n and_o their_o own_o corruption_n be_v become_v without_o natural_a affection_n who_o this_o precept_n take_v hold_v upon_o 3.1_o 2._o the_o best_a nature_n of_o all_o if_o it_o be_v not_o extinguish_v as_o in_o the_o former_a yet_o be_v great_o corrupt_v and_o can_v produce_v nothing_o please_v to_o god_n and_o therefore_o have_v the_o lord_n bind_v woman_n to_o this_o affection_n of_o love_n by_o a_o sure_a and_o straight_a bond_n then_o that_o of_o corrupt_a nature_n have_v by_o his_o own_o commandment_n lay_v it_o upon_o they_o as_o a_o calling_n to_o walk_v in_o that_o the_o performance_n of_o it_o may_v be_v a_o obedience_n of_o faith_n and_o not_o a_o work_n of_o natural_a instinct_n a_o duty_n of_o conscience_n as_o well_o as_o of_o affection_n 3._o though_o
wherein_o be_v excess_n and_o the_o woe_n be_v as_o general_a against_o all_o such_o as_o be_v overcome_v with_o wine_n and_o no_o drunkard_n shall_v enter_v into_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n 6._o but_o in_o woman_n and_o old_a woman_n it_o be_v beside_o the_o sin_n most_o filthy_a and_o shameful_a the_o very_a heathen_a account_v wine_n and_o strong_a drink_n disagreeable_a from_o the_o less_o grace_n call_v they_o unto_o the_o which_o meeting_n although_o some_o of_o they_o be_v necessary_a yet_o for_o woman_n to_o be_v addict_v unto_o they_o or_o excessive_a in_o they_o in_o unwarrantable_a speech_n drink_n merriment_n etc._n etc._n savour_v of_o darkness_n of_o the_o flesh_n and_o be_v far_o from_o beseem_v woman_n that_o profess_v the_o fear_n of_o god_n and_o there_o be_v fearful_a fruit_n and_o effect_n of_o drunkenness_n as_o wander_a eye_n lustful_a look_n tongue_n speak_v lewd_a thing_n gesture_n and_o action_n more_o seemly_a for_o bruit_n beast_n then_o either_o woman_n or_o christian_n 4._o beside_o the_o more_o public_a scandal_n if_o we_o consider_v the_o private_a damage_n of_o this_o sin_n in_o woman_n we_o shall_v find_v the_o apostle_n have_v reason_n sufficient_a to_o condemn_v it_o in_o they_o for_o whereas_o the_o lord_n have_v lay_v this_o duty_n on_o the_o wise_a woman_n to_o build_v up_o her_o house_n to_o regard_v the_o way_n of_o her_o family_n so_o as_o her_o diligence_n and_o labour_n shall_v if_o not_o much_o increase_n yet_o at_o least_o preserve_v and_o save_v that_o portion_n of_o maintenance_n her_o husband_n the_o present_a lode_v her_o husband_n with_o debt_n and_o danger_n and_o deprive_v her_o child_n of_o that_o comfort_n which_o be_v meet_v shall_v be_v reserve_v and_o lay_v up_o for_o they_o doctr._n out_o of_o the_o word_n we_o may_v further_o note_v the_o folly_n of_o our_o corrupt_a nature_n us._n make_v we_o ready_a to_o yield_v ourselves_o slave_n and_o servant_n to_o the_o building_n draw_v down_o the_o heart_n make_v it_o drink_v with_o sensuality_n and_o forgetful_a of_o god_n thus_o the_o lord_n charge_v his_o people_n when_o thou_o be_v in_o prosperity_n thou_o say_v i_o will_v not_o hear_v this_o have_v be_v thy_o manner_n from_o thy_o youth_n for_o now_o the_o heart_n be_v hold_v as_o in_o chain_n and_o have_v it_o not_o in_o the_o power_n to_o turn_v the_o devil_n as_o the_o common_a speech_n be_v 4._o when_o they_o be_v as_o fetter_n and_o clog_n from_o the_o performance_n of_o good_a duty_n unfitting_a man_n to_o the_o duty_n of_o their_o general_n and_o special_a call_n whereunto_o they_o be_v ordain_v to_o make_v we_o fit_a and_o serviceable_a thus_o man_n lose_v their_o liberty_n use_v to_o resolve_v of_o the_o practice_n of_o
