constitute_v greeting_n forasmuch_o as_o the_o merchant_n and_o skipper_n and_o other_o traffic_v and_o pass_v betwixt_o this_o our_o ancient_a kingdom_n and_o the_o province_n of_o the_o soldier_n a_o pass_n from_o the_o secretary_n of_o this_o kingdom_n or_o their_o deput_n attend_v our_o person_n in_o the_o say_v netherlands_o for_o the_o time_n and_o every_o soldier_n or_o other_o person_n who_o have_v serve_v in_o our_o army_n a_o pass_n from_o the_o colonel_n of_o the_o regiment_n wherein_o they_o serve_v or_o a_o superior_a officer_n which_o pass_n be_v to_o be_v present_v to_o the_o conservator_n of_o the_o privilege_n of_o this_o our_o kingdom_n reside_v in_o the_o say_a province_n or_o his_o deput_n in_o his_o absence_n who_o be_v to_o make_v a_o list_n of_o the_o say_n person_n have_v and_o produce_v their_o pass_n as_o say_v be_v and_o to_o deliver_v the_o same_o subscribe_v with_o his_o hand_n to_o the_o master_n or_o skipper_n of_o the_o ship_n for_o his_o warrant_n to_o bring_v home_o the_o person_n name_v therein_o as_o also_o the_o say_a master_n or_o skipper_n at_o his_o arrival_n within_o the_o river_n of_o forth_n or_o any_o port_n or_o creik_v thereof_o shall_v before_o he_o suffer_v any_o of_o the_o person_n contain_v in_o the_o say_a list_n to_o go_v ashore_o out_o of_o his_o vessel_n present_v the_o foresay_a list_n to_o our_o advocate_n or_o solicitor_n at_o edinburgh_n for_o the_o time_n or_o in_o their_o absence_n to_o one_o or_o other_o of_o the_o lord_n of_o our_o privy_a council_n and_o receive_v his_o order_n for_o set_v of_o the_o say_a person_n ashore_o and_o if_o the_o vessel_n shall_v arrive_v at_o any_o other_o port_n or_o coast_n within_o the_o kingdom_n than_o the_o skipper_n shall_v present_v his_o say_v lâ—st_v to_o a_o magistrate_n of_o the_o next_o burgh-royal_a who_o shall_v be_v oblige_v either_o to_o take_v caution_n of_o the_o person_n contain_v therein_o that_o they_o shall_v present_v themselves_o when_o call_v by_o the_o lord_n of_o our_o privy_a council_n or_o at_o least_o if_o they_o can_v find_v caution_n they_o shall_v enact_v themselves_o both_o under_o a_o reasonable_a penalty_n to_o present_v themselves_o as_o say_v be_v which_o bond_n and_o act_n the_o say_a magistrate_n be_v to_o transmit_v with_o all_o diligence_n to_o the_o clerk_n of_o our_o privy_a council_n within_o a_o fortnight_n at_o far_a after_o receive_v of_o the_o same_o and_o the_o say_n magistrate_n have_v take_v the_o say_n bond_n or_o subscription_n be_v then_o to_o give_v order_n for_o the_o person_n come_v ashore_o certify_v the_o say_a merchant_n master_n skipper_n mate_n mariner_n and_o passenger_n and_o magistrate_n abovementioned_a that_o if_o any_o of_o they_o fail_v in_o the_o premise_n they_o shall_v be_v liable_a in_o the_o penalty_n of_o five_o hundreth_o mark_n scot_n each_o of_o they_o toties_fw-la quoties_fw-la to_o be_v pay_v to_o our_o receiver-general_n for_o our_o use_n and_o far_o require_v our_o solicitor_n to_o use_v exact_a diligence_n to_o see_v their_o present_n execute_v and_o the_o foresay_a penalty_n when_o incur_v pay_v our_o will_n be_v herefore_o and_o we_o charge_v you_o strait_o and_o command_v that_o incontinent_a these_o our_o letter_n see_v you_o pass_v to_o the_o mercat-cross_n of_o edinburgh_n and_o to_o the_o mercat-cross_n of_o the_o remanent_fw-la headburgh_n of_o the_o several_a shire_n within_o this_o kingdom_n and_o also_o to_o the_o several_a seaport_n town_n within_o the_o same_o and_o appoint_v the_o sheriff_n of_o the_o several_a shire_n to_o see_v their_o present_n publish_v at_o the_o several_a sea-town_n within_o their_o respective_a jurisdiction_n and_o there_o by_o open_a proclamation_n make_v publication_n of_o
