evidence_n of_o the_o goodness_n of_o a_o religious_a cause_n which_o can_v have_v but_o one_o truth_n among_o so_o many_o pretend_a one_o they_o have_v need_n be_v wary_a in_o rely_v thereupon_o and_o careful_a that_o in_o their_o work_n they_o deny_v not_o he_o they_o so_o heady_o will_v serve_v nor_o do_v not_o transgress_v plain_a command_n to_o obey_v obscure_a one_o for_o since_o the_o very_a endure_v of_o persecution_n must_v also_o testify_v that_o those_o his_o christian_a brethren_n he_o now_o afflict_v be_v also_o confident_a of_o their_o own_o right_n serve_v the_o same_o master_n the_o persecuter_n must_v thereby_o become_v guilty_a of_o do_v otherwise_o then_o they_o will_v be_v do_v unto_o both_o in_o relation_n to_o this_o their_o joint_a master_n that_o thus_o a_o stop_n to_o which_o inconvenience_n and_o mischief_n all_o such_o as_o will_v put_v themselves_o into_o the_o number_n of_o the_o bless_a peacemaker_n will_v find_v no_o ready_a way_n then_o serious_o to_o consider_v as_o we_o have_v endeavour_v to_o show_v in_o our_o past_a discourse_n that_o since_o faith_n and_o charity_n be_v to_o be_v the_o foundation_n of_o our_o religion_n and_o we_o to_o our_o utmost_a to_o serve_v god_n in_o both_o it_o must_v also_o follow_v that_o we_o be_v to_o perform_v they_o with_o more_o or_o less_o zeal_n and_o order_n as_o we_o find_v the_o plainness_n of_o their_o precept_n more_o or_o less_o evident_a and_o therefore_o since_o in_o matter_n of_o faith_n either_o concern_v the_o full_a comprehension_n of_o deity_n and_o also_o of_o his_o manner_n of_o worship_n thing_n have_v be_v but_o spare_o and_o dark_o deliver_v we_o be_v to_o presume_v that_o no_o far_a speculation_n and_o discovery_n be_v necessary_a for_o we_o herein_o than_o what_o god_n have_v be_v please_v to_o impart_v who_o can_v have_v manifest_v himself_o to_o general_a conviction_n if_o he_o have_v think_v it_o fit_a but_o since_o in_o this_o and_o in_o the_o manner_n of_o his_o worship_n he_o have_v already_o do_v so_o full_o as_o will_v serve_v for_o manifestation_n of_o his_o will_n and_o so_o far_o as_o to_o bring_v we_o to_o salvation_n what_o need_v we_o search_v far_o it_o will_v therefore_o be_v necessary_a for_o they_o that_o will_v avoid_v the_o danger_n of_o lukewarmness_n and_o neglect_n of_o god_n service_n on_o the_o one_o hand_n and_o also_o the_o peril_n of_o breach_n of_o charity_n through_o blind_a zeal_n on_o the_o other_o to_o make_v a_o distinction_n between_o thing_n fundamental_a and_o what_o be_v not_o the_o first_o he_o shall_v find_v in_o order_n to_o his_o salvation_n so_o plain_o teach_v and_o deliver_v that_o he_o that_o run_v may_v read_v and_o to_o those_o thing_n only_a as_o of_o immediate_a divine_a authority_n be_v we_o to_o give_v such_o firm_a assent_n as_o not_o only_o to_o obey_v god_n rather_o than_o man_n but_o also_o 1.8_o though_o a_o angel_n from_o heaven_n preach_v unto_o we_o other_o as_o at_o first_o to_o create_v and_o state_n we_o happy_a the_o food_n which_o we_o take_v as_o it_o have_v in_o itself_o personal_a respect_n only_o so_o have_v it_o in_o each_o one_o a_o proper_a way_n of_o judicature_n to_o determine_v both_o of_o choice_n and_o satiety_n as_o well_o as_o of_o appetite_n and_o hunger_n in_o those_o other_o inclination_n that_o have_v aim_n beyond_o the_o party_n act_v the_o one_o for_o bring_v man_n into_o the_o world_n and_o the_o other_o for_o preserve_v and_o advantage_v of_o they_o be_v there_o they_o also_o by_o divine_a appointment_n be_v to_o have_v their_o public_a rule_n of_o direction_n and_o limitation_n set_v down_o by_o those_o society_n of_o man_n wherein_o they_o be_v to_o be_v exercise_v lest_o else_o the_o mean_n may_v prove_v destructive_a of_o its_o own_o end_n for_o i_o that_o in_o nature_n and_o as_o a_o man_n can_v not_o more_o kind-like_a or_o meritorious_o employ_v myself_o then_o in_o such_o like_a action_n may_v yet_o by_o intemperance_n or_o partiality_n in_o prosecution_n prove_v myself_o to_o be_v in_o these_o thing_n more_o high_o ignoble_a and_o vicious_a then_o in_o any_o thing_n else_o as_o for_o those_o rule_n and_o restraint_n put_v upon_o man_n act_v in_o the_o first_o sort_n by_o the_o appointment_n and_o limitation_n of_o wedlock_n or_o for_o avoid_v of_o unchaste_a act_n none_o do_v doubt_n of_o the_o fitness_n of_o positive_a direction_n and_o evidence_n herein_o in_o order_n to_o public_a benefit_n although_o against_o the_o good_a like_n of_o the_o obeyer_n whereas_o if_o public_a good_a be_v right_o know_v and_o weigh_v the_o other_o that_o have_v a_o more_o high_a and_o general_a influence_n thereupon_o even_o as_o it_o be_v more_o continual_o practicable_a by_o each_o person_n ought_v also_o much_o more_o to_o have_v its_o direction_n and_o confinement_n set_v down_o by_o public_a appointment_n for_o else_o it_o may_v happen_v that_o that_o more_o particular_a regard_n towards_o those_o of_o my_o own_o family_n and_o other_o relation_n which_o may_v at_o first_o arise_v from_o the_o marriage_n tie_v and_o that_o precept_n of_o a_o man_n provide_v for_o his_o own_o family_n may_v from_o too_o eager_a love_n fix_v on_o some_o contract_n by_o consequent_a as_o great_a hatred_n and_o neglect_n towards_o other_o whereby_o to_o destroy_v in_o the_o street_n that_o which_o be_v thus_o careful_o preserve_v in_o the_o house_n for_o as_o it_o be_v observe_v in_o the_o food_n of_o our_o natural_a body_n that_o the_o great_a and_o most_o dangerous_a surfeit_n do_v arise_v from_o the_o inordinate_a and_o irregular_a use_n of_o that_o which_o be_v in_o itself_o most_o wholesome_a and_o best_a even_o so_o in_o the_o politic_a frame_n there_o be_v nothing_o which_o more_o usual_o or_o with_o great_a danger_n do_v procure_v the_o disturbance_n and_o dissolution_n thereof_o than_o this_o arbitrary_a application_n of_o our_o love_n even_o when_o we_o as_o man_n do_v so_o far_o follow_v our_o own_o natural_a tie_n of_o affection_n and_o interest_n in_o the_o place_n of_o our_o good_a deed_n as_o to_o be_v neglectful_a of_o that_o our_o more_o high_a and_o near_a kindred_n and_o relation_n we_o have_v towards_o they_o as_o christian_n wherein_o as_o that_o common_a and_o equal_a affinity_n of_o brotherhood_n and_o fellow-member_n be_v always_o to_o fill_v we_o with_o due_a readiness_n to_o be_v beneficent_a to_o all_o so_o must_v it_o be_v direct_v and_o difference_v in_o choice_n of_o object_n and_o degree_n of_o exercise_n by_o law_n and_o rule_n receive_v from_o he_o that_o have_v the_o common_a headship_n and_o superintendency_n herein_o and_o if_o such_o a_o liberty_n to_o dispute_v the_o warrantableness_n of_o command_n shall_v be_v leave_v as_o some_o man_n do_v insist_v upon_o strange_a it_o be_v that_o among_o all_o those_o large_a and_o express_a precept_n for_o general_a or_o else_o large_a volume_n shall_v have_v be_v leave_v comprise_v in_o every_o particular_a what_o duty_n and_o action_n be_v to_o be_v hold_v civil_a and_o what_o religious_a and_o what_o lawful_a and_o what_o nor_o because_o otherwise_o the_o liberty_n of_o dispute_v of_o these_o thing_n will_v render_v man_n true_o obedient_a in_o nothing_o and_o thereupon_o also_o make_v the_o say_a precept_n vain_o give_v and_o have_v so_o far_o show_v how_o the_o precept_n of_o general_n good_a and_o charity_n stand_v point_v out_o in_o scripture_n and_o reason_n as_o the_o duty_n of_o each_o neither_o for_o number_n or_o office_n have_v direct_a authority_n or_o example_n from_o thence_o but_o it_o be_v usual_a with_o the_o opposer_n of_o monarchy_n to_o take_v their_o advantage_n against_o the_o evidence_n of_o text_n of_o this_o kind_n as_o in_o civil_a matter_n man_n be_v wont_a to_o do_v against_o those_o they_o contend_v with_o about_o any_o property_n or_o title_n for_o if_o they_o know_v the_o letter_n and_o plain_a sense_n of_o the_o law_n run_v on_o the_o side_n of_o he_o they_o oppose_v they_o then_o find_v no_o such_o ready_a way_n for_o his_o defeat_n as_o to_o entitle_v the_o king_n or_o some_o eminent_a superior_a thereunto_o even_o so_o shall_v we_o find_v king_n now_o adays_o use_v in_o the_o interpretation_n of_o many_o of_o those_o place_n of_o scripture_n which_o make_v so_o plain_o on_o their_o side_n that_o be_v when_o the_o power_n and_o perpetuity_n of_o this_o office_n be_v anywhere_o set_v forth_o they_o then_o will_v have_v the_o whole_a sense_n and_o scope_n thereof_o to_o imply_v christ_n himself_o and_o not_o this_o his_o immediate_a deputy_n by_o which_o kind_n of_o proceed_v they_o do_v by_o fact_n evident_o prove_v themselves_o guilty_a of_o that_o pride_n and_o arrogance_n they_o will_v reprehend_v in_o another_o and_o that_o it_o be_v not_o christ_n honour_n that_o be_v hereby_o seek_v otherwise_o then_o in_o order_n to_o their_o own_o for_o since_o they_o do_v allow_v he_o to_o have_v his_o depute_a officer_n among_o we_o for_o declaration_n and_o execution_n of_o his_o will_n will_v it_o not_o settle_v the_o first_o moral_a law_n for_o man_n to_o live_v by_o there_o be_v not_o nor_o have_v not_o be_v in_o the_o world_n any_o but_o monarchical_a government_n settle_v when_o again_o the_o king_n of_o king_n and_o prince_n of_o peace_n christ_n himself_o appear_v as_o the_o old_a impostor_n in_o oracle_n become_v silent_a so_o all_o republike_n and_o state_n have_v hide_v their_o head_n under_o one_o monarchy_n or_o another_o and_o that_o which_o may_v be_v observable_a in_o other_o story_n be_v that_o the_o greek_n themselves_o who_o in_o restless_a wit_n be_v the_o ring_n leader_n in_o doctrine_n and_o example_n for_o all_o these_o civil_a alteration_n as_o well_o as_o in_o a_o manner_n for_o all_o heresy_n in_o religion_n and_o upon_o no_o other_o ground_n then_o with_o a_o affect_a pride_n to_o express_v their_o power_n and_o freedom_n in_o both_o above_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o world_n who_o in_o regard_n of_o themselves_o they_o style_v barbarous_a be_v at_o this_o day_n and_o so_o have_v long_o continue_v the_o example_n of_o high_a slavery_n and_o oppression_n in_o both_o kind_n beside_o these_o high_a authority_n and_o example_n that_o so_o evident_o declare_v for_o monarchy_n alone_o i_o can_v never_o tell_v how_o to_o settle_v my_o reason_n on_o any_o other_o foundation_n be_v unable_a to_o fancy_v how_o sovereignty_n can_v have_v be_v divide_v without_o divide_v obedience_n how_o unity_n can_v proceed_v from_o plurality_n aâ—d_v how_o peace_n can_v be_v among_o subject_n when_o the_o peacemaker_n themselves_o must_v be_v still_o in_o
