or_o receive_v the_o first_o imply_v the_o power_n of_o give_v which_o romanist_n acknowledge_v to_o remain_v in_o heretic_n and_o schismatic_n the_o other_o speak_v the_o due_a and_o lawful_a use_n of_o that_o power_n which_o be_v deny_v to_o be_v in_o those_o that_o be_v in_o heresy_n or_o schism_n the_o reason_n be_v because_o heretic_n and_o schismatic_n be_v actual_o divide_v from_o the_o unity_n of_o the_o church_n must_v needs_o lose_v the_o lawful_a use_n of_o that_o power_n and_o all_o other_o ecclesiastical_a ministration_n but_o not_o the_o power_n itself_o which_o follow_v a_o character_n that_o be_v indelible_a as_o the_o romanist_n express_v it_o we_o admit_v though_o not_o a_o sacramental_a character_n stamp_v upon_o the_o soul_n of_o the_o ordain_v as_o they_o will_v have_v it_o yet_o such_o a_o disposition_n or_o power_n cleave_v to_o his_o person_n for_o the_o do_v of_o that_o he_o be_v ordain_v to_o that_o it_o be_v not_o lose_v by_o heresy_n or_o schism_n nor_o to_o be_v reiterated_a upon_o the_o return_n or_o restore_v of_o that_o person_n 12._o this_o premise_a we_o have_v two_o point_n to_o speak_v to_o first_o how_o the_o charge_n of_o heresy_n lay_v on_o those_o of_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n then_o how_o the_o lawful_a use_n of_o order_n may_v be_v supply_v by_o the_o restore_n of_o the_o person_n though_o at_o first_o they_o be_v not_o lawful_o give_v and_o so_o by_o both_o these_o we_o shall_v have_v a_o double_a answer_n to_o the_o argument_n above_o for_o the_o first_o we_o must_v note_v that_o heresy_n be_v consider_v in_o regard_n of_o the_o matter_n ordination_n what_o sort_n of_o heresy_n take_v away_o lawful_a use_n of_o ordination_n or_o of_o the_o declaration_n of_o the_o church_n and_o this_o according_a to_o sentence_n or_o declaration_n of_o the_o church_n cut_v off_o or_o divide_v the_o person_n so_o heretical_a from_o the_o union_n of_o the_o true_a catholic_a church_n because_o it_o divide_v he_o from_o the_o foundation_n &_o from_o be_v actual_a member_n of_o the_o visible_a church_n upon_o the_o notoriety_n of_o such_o heresy_n so_o contrary_a to_o the_o foundation_n and_o also_o long_o it_o cease_v upon_o such_o heresy_n for_o we_o do_v not_o charge_v such_o heresy_n upon_o those_o of_o rome_n i.e._n heresy_n immediate_o fundamental_a or_o those_o main_a heresy_n declare_v against_o by_o the_o first_o general_n counsel_n but_o then_o we_o must_v say_v that_o many_o of_o their_o new_a article_n of_o belief_n and_o practice_n be_v in_o themselves_o heretical_a and_o as_o much_o or_o more_o than_o be_v many_o tenet_n of_o former_a heretic_n declare_v against_o by_o the_o ancient_a church_n whether_o we_o consider_v the_o matter_n and_o concernment_n of_o those_o romish_a article_n or_o the_o obstinacy_n and_o tyranny_n with_o which_o they_o assert_v and_o impose_v so_o that_o if_o there_o can_v be_v a_o full_a general_n council_n of_o the_o whole_a catholic_a church_n they_o will_v undoubted_o be_v declare_v many_o of_o they_o heretical_a 13._o from_o whence_o it_o follow_v that_o heresy_n thus_o lie_v upon_o they_o may_v give_v we_o just_a cause_n to_o renounce_v give_v by_o they_o or_o receive_v from_o they_o this_o may_v give_v answer_n to_o all_o the_o place_n allege_v by_o doctor_n champny_n in_o his_o nine_o cap._n pag._n 335_o 336._o out_o of_o the_o father_n against_o order_n give_v by_o heretic_n for_o they_o concern_v either_o heretic_n in_o fundamental_o or_o such_o as_o be_v declare_v so_o and_o actual_o separate_v from_o the_o unity_n of_o the_o church_n 14._o it_o be_v to_o be_v note_v far_o that_o when_o our_o first_o reform_v bishop_n be_v ordain_v by_o they_o the_o grand_a heresy_n and_o mother_n of_o their_o other_o error_n as_o to_o the_o obstinate_a a_o heretical_a defend_n of_o they_o i_o mean_v the_o papal_a power_n and_o authority_n be_v abjure_v and_o therefore_o their_o ordainer_n however_o yet_o in_o romish_a error_n can_v not_o be_v proper_o heretical_a or_o peremptory_o engage_v to_o defend_v the_o same_o as_o afterward_o they_o be_v especial_o since_o the_o council_n of_o trent_n have_v make_v they_o error_n do_v not_o re-ordain_a priest_n that_o return_v from_o they_o to_o we_o because_o the_o substance_n or_o evangelical_n institution_n be_v by_o those_o word_n receive_v the_o holy_a ghost_n who_o sin_n you_o remit_v etc._n etc._n retain_v still_o in_o the_o roman_a ordination_n though_o clog_v and_o depress_v by_o additional_a corruption_n but_o cause_v they_o to_o renounce_v those_o additional_o be_v conceal_v and_o a_o man_n private_a judgement_n silence_v in_o submission_n to_o the_o public_a 3._o if_o he_o publish_v or_o make_v know_v his_o dissent_v it_o ought_v to_o be_v by_o modest_a proposal_n to_o his_o superior_n not_o by_o clamour_n against_o the_o church_n to_o a_o disturbance_n of_o the_o peace_n of_o it_o much_o less_o by_o force_n or_o tumult_n as_o the_o manner_n of_o sectary_n have_v usual_o be_v for_o if_o he_o can_v internal_o acquiesce_v in_o the_o judgement_n of_o the_o church_n yet_o ought_v he_o to_o submit_v as_o far_o as_o possible_a external_o and_o to_o suffer_v for_o it_o if_o need_v be_v 15._o case_n whether_o in_o all_o matter_n or_o case_n but_o here_o a_o question_n may_v be_v make_v about_o these_o matter_n in_o which_o we_o be_v say_v to_o have_v evidence_n of_o scripture_n and_o primitive_a consent_n if_o a_o church_n shall_v so_o far_o err_v as_o to_o judge_n contrary_a to_o these_o as_o for_o the_o error_n of_o monothelite_n or_o eutychian_o or_o for_o the_o worship_v of_o image_n or_o any_o creature_n with_o religious_a worship_n must_v a_o man_n submit_v with_o silence_n in_o such_o a_o case_n i_o answer_v the_o minister_n of_o the_o word_n be_v by_o that_o church_n according_a to_o god_n ordinance_n call_v to_o publish_v the_o gospel_n and_o counsel_n of_o god_n for_o salvation_n aught_o to_o propose_v their_o contrary_a judgement_n and_o belief_n to_o their_o superior_n so_o err_a if_o they_o reform_v it_o be_v well_o if_o not_o the_o other_o ought_v to_o declare_v these_o counsel_n of_o god_n for_o in_o this_o case_n they_o have_v great_a authority_n as_o be_v say_v on_o their_o side_n and_o may_v say_v to_o the_o governor_n of_o the_o visible_a church_n as_o the_o apostle_n do_v to_o the_o great_a council_n whether_o it_o be_v more_o right_a to_o hearken_v to_o you_o or_o to_o god_n etc._n etc._n act_v 4._o and_o to_o this_o case_n i_o refer_v that_o other_o erroneous_a principle_n of_o belief_n the_o mother_n of_o error_n and_o apostasy_n that_o all_o the_o member_n of_o the_o church_n be_v bind_v to_o receive_v for_o catholic_a faith_n and_o christian_a worship_n all_o that_o the_o church_n whereof_o they_o be_v member_n propose_v to_o they_o for_o such_o herein_o we_o have_v and_o all_o that_o be_v still_o of_o the_o roman_a communion_n have_v cause_n to_o complain_v of_o that_o church_n and_o to_o declare_v dissent_n of_o judgement_n from_o it_o which_o not_o only_o impose_v purgatory_n transubstantiation_n and_o such_o novel_a error_n for_o article_n of_o the_o catholic_a faith_n and_o command_v image-worship_n as_o lawful_a and_o please_a to_o god_n but_o also_o hold_v all_o the_o member_n thereof_o bind_v to_o that_o former_a principle_n of_o mis-belief_n in_o a_o blind_a receive_v all_o for_o faith_n and_o worship_n that_o shall_v be_v so_o propose_v to_o they_o 16._o church_n the_o submiit_v of_o doctrine_n and_o write_n to_o the_o censure_n of_o the_o church_n and_o this_o which_o have_v be_v say_v will_v also_o speak_v the_o meaning_n of_o that_o submission_n which_o we_o profess_v to_o yield_v when_o we_o usual_o say_v and_o not_o without_o that_o doubt_v be_v damn_v if_o he_o eat_v and_o what_o be_v not_o of_o faith_n be_v sin_n have_v be_v abuse_v to_o maintain_v a_o dissent_v from_o the_o judgement_n of_o the_o church_n and_o a_o forbearance_n of_o the_o practice_n we_o say_v therefore_o those_o place_n be_v misapply_v to_o matter_n determine_v by_o public_a authority_n against_o which_o it_o be_v not_o doubt_v or_o want_n prove_v it_o apostolical_a or_o that_o it_o be_v use_v in_o ordination_n by_o the_o greek_a church_n but_o admit_v it_o be_v use_v ancient_o in_o the_o western_a church_n we_o say_v it_o be_v but_o a_o tolerable_a or_o convenient_a rite_n or_o ceremony_n as_o be_v many_o other_o ancient_o use_v but_o not_o now_o see_v in_o the_o roman_a church_n and_o reason_n there_o be_v wherefore_o we_o shall_v not_o continue_v some_o ancient_a ceremony_n after_o the_o infection_n of_o popish_a corruption_n as_o in_o this_o particular_a they_o have_v make_v order_n a_o sacrament_n and_o annex_v to_o this_o ceremony_n of_o unction_n a_o sacramental_a virtue_n we_o dare_v not_o be_v so_o bold_a and_o certain_o the_o church_n ought_v to_o be_v very_o wary_a and_o spare_v in_o ceremony_n to_o be_v use_v in_o and_o about_o any_o sacrament_n in_o sacrament_n we_o be_v to_o look_v at_o that_o which_o be_v signify_v or_o confer_v ceremony_n of_o significant_a ceremony_n grace_n which_o be_v the_o ordination_n which_o he_o can_v say_v as_o to_o this_o point_n for_o though_o he_o may_v put_v a_o difference_n between_o they_o in_o regard_n of_o validity_n that_o depend_v upon_o the_o minister_n who_o in_o ordination_n be_v precise_o determine_v yet_o in_o regard_n of_o validity_n by_o reason_n of_o matter_n and_o form_n which_o be_v the_o present_a consideration_n he_o must_v say_v that_o the_o other_o as_o from_o the_o form_n of_o baptism_n to_o the_o form_n of_o ordination_n as_o we_o see_v above_o in_o his_o 10._o chap._n and_o may_v below_o in_o his_o 14._o pag._n 480._o which_o
