temperance_n continence_n and_o fortitude_n by_o a_o little_a intermission_n will_v by_o degree_n degenerate_a into_o debauchery_n we_o must_v not_o therefore_o be_v idle_a and_o indulge_v our_o to_o do_v the_o like_a and_o so_o procure_v leisure_n both_o to_o himself_o and_o to_o his_o friend_n after_o this_o he_o take_v upon_o he_o to_o reform_v those_o court_n who_o live_v at_o court_n with_o he_o and_o in_o the_o first_o place_n he_o look_v after_o those_o who_o be_v able_a to_o live_v by_o the_o labour_n of_o other_o though_o they_o never_o come_v to_o court_n because_o he_o think_v those_o that_o be_v present_a will_v not_o be_v guilty_a of_o any_o misdemeanour_n partly_o because_o they_o be_v in_o the_o king_n presence_n and_o partly_o because_o they_o know_v that_o they_o shall_v have_v the_o chief_a of_o the_o nation_n continual_a eye_n witness_n of_o their_o action_n but_o for_o those_o who_o be_v not_o present_a he_o think_v that_o either_o intemperance_n injustice_n or_o negligence_n be_v the_o cause_n of_o their_o absence_n wherefore_o upon_o that_o account_n he_o compel_v they_o to_o be_v resident_a which_o he_o do_v by_o authorise_v some_o of_o his_o dear_a friend_n to_o take_v possession_n of_o their_o good_n when_o they_o be_v absent_a when_o this_o be_v do_v those_o that_o be_v dispossess_v of_o their_o good_n come_v and_o sue_v for_o justice_n but_o it_o be_v always_o a_o long_a time_n before_o cyrus_n will_v suffer_v the_o matter_n to_o come_v to_o a_o hear_n and_o after_o he_o have_v hear_v it_o he_o use_v to_o delay_v a_o long_a time_n before_o he_o will_v give_v sentence_n and_o this_o he_o think_v a_o excellent_a way_n to_o engage_v their_o service_n to_o he_o better_o than_o if_o he_o shall_v force_v they_o to_o be_v present_a by_o direct_a and_o open_a punishment_n this_o be_v one_o way_n whereby_o he_o teach_v they_o to_o be_v always_o upon_o duty_n another_o be_v by_o command_v those_o that_o be_v present_a nothing_o but_o what_o be_v easy_a and_o for_o their_o advantage_n to_o do_v another_o way_n be_v by_o give_v they_o nothing_o who_o be_v absent_a but_o if_o none_o of_o these_o course_n and_o all_o this_o he_o think_v will_v contribute_v something_o towards_o the_o secure_v they_o from_o the_o contempt_n of_o the_o vulgar_a and_o thus_o he_o discipline_v those_o who_o he_o intend_v shall_v partake_v of_o the_o government_n partly_o by_o exercise_v they_o and_o partly_o by_o his_o own_o majestic_a example_n but_o as_o for_o those_o who_o he_o breed_v up_o to_o be_v servant_n he_o do_v not_o make_v use_n of_o they_o in_o any_o liberal_a exercise_n or_o suffer_v they_o to_o wear_v any_o arms._n and_o he_o take_v care_n that_o they_o shall_v never_o want_v meat_n or_o drink_n upon_o the_o account_n of_o liberal_a exercise_n he_o permit_v the_o servant_n as_o often_o as_o they_o go_v ahunting_a servant_n to_o carry_v meat_n with_o they_o but_o he_o will_v not_o let_v any_o of_o the_o nobility_n do_v so_o and_o when_o they_o be_v to_o take_v a_o journey_n he_o lead_v they_o to_o water_n just_a as_o he_o do_v his_o horse_n and_o when_o it_o be_v dinner_n time_n with_o they_o he_o will_v stay_v till_o they_o have_v eat_v something_o lest_o they_o shall_v be_v over-hungry_a so_o that_o the_o servant_n as_o well_o as_o the_o noble_n will_v call_v cyrus_n their_o father_n forasmuch_o as_o he_o provide_v for_o they_o so_o well_o that_o by_o their_o own_o consent_n they_o will_v never_o be_v any_o other_o than_o slave_n and_o thus_o do_v cyrus_n strengthen_v and_o confirm_v the_o persian_a empire_n but_o as_o for_o those_o who_o he_o have_v conquer_v he_o apprehend_v himself_o in_o no_o danger_n from_o they_o for_o he_o consider_v that_o they_o be_v but_o in_o a_o weak_a condition_n and_o under_o no_o order_n or_o discipline_n and_o beside_o none_o of_o they_o be_v permit_v to_o come_v near_o he_o either_o by_o night_n or_o day_n but_o for_o those_o who_o he_o see_v be_v the_o strong_a and_o furnish_v with_o arm_n and_o embody_v together_o in_o a_o great_a number_n and_o who_o be_v partly_o commander_n of_o horse_n and_o partly_o of_o foot_n and_o who_o he_o perceive_v to_o be_v of_o great_a spirit_n fit_a for_o government_n and_o who_o have_v near_o access_n to_o cyrus_n his_o guard_n and_o many_o of_o which_o use_v to_o come_v oftentimes_o to_o cyrus_n himself_o which_o can_v not_o be_v avoid_v because_o he_o have_v occasion_n to_o use_v their_o service_n these_o indeed_o he_o be_v afraid_a of_o and_o that_o upon_o several_a account_n consider_v therefore_o with_o himself_o how_o he_o may_v secure_v himself_o from_o they_o also_o he_o think_v it_o be_v not_o his_o best_a way_n to_o disarm_v they_o and_o render_v they_o unfit_a for_o war_n because_o that_o can_v not_o be_v do_v without_o injury_n and_o the_o overthrow_n of_o his_o kingdom_n again_o not_o to_o give_v they_o admission_n and_o to_o declare_v his_o distrust_n of_o they_o open_o will_v he_o think_v prove_v the_o occasion_n of_o a_o war._n instead_o therefore_o of_o all_o this_o he_o think_v the_o safe_a and_o most_o honourable_a way_n will_v be_v to_o make_v the_o chief_a man_n among_o they_o more_o affectionate_o dispose_v towards_o himself_o then_o towards_o one_o another_o and_o he_o take_v this_o course_n to_o affect_v it_o in_o the_o first_o place_n he_o endeavour_v upon_o all_o occasion_n to_o show_v as_o much_o candour_n and_o courtesy_n towards_o they_o as_o he_o can_v as_o know_v how_o hard_o a_o thing_n it_o be_v full_a conviction_n as_o long_o therefore_o as_o he_o be_v not_o in_o a_o capacity_n to_o oblige_v they_o by_o gift_n he_o endeavour_v to_o win_v upon_o their_o affection_n partly_o by_o consult_v their_o welfare_n partly_o by_o labour_v for_o they_o and_o partly_o by_o show_v they_o how_o much_o he_o rejoice_v at_o their_o prosperity_n and_o how_o much_o he_o be_v trouble_v at_o any_o ill_n that_o befall_v they_o but_o assoon_o as_o he_o be_v in_o a_o capacity_n to_o bestow_v liberality_n collation_n upon_o they_o he_o observe_v that_o no_o favour_n of_o the_o same_o value_n be_v more_o acceptible_a to_o man_n then_o to_o have_v meat_n and_o drink_v give_v they_o whereupon_o he_o give_v order_n concern_v his_o table_n that_o they_o shall_v set_v before_o he_o meat_n enough_o to_o suffice_v a_o great_a many_o man_n of_o the_o same_o sort_n with_o that_o which_o be_v for_o his_o own_o eat_n and_o of_o this_o he_o always_o distribute_v among_o his_o friend_n to_o show_v how_o mindful_a he_o be_v of_o they_o and_o how_o much_o he_o love_v they_o moreover_o he_o send_v meat_n to_o they_o who_o he_o perceive_v to_o be_v diligent_a on_o their_o guard_n or_o officious_a to_o serve_v and_o honour_v he_o tell_v they_o withal_o that_o he_o be_v not_o ignorant_a of_o the_o good_a will_n of_o those_o who_o be_v desirous_a to_o please_v he_o he_o vouchsafe_v also_o the_o same_o honour_n to_o his_o domestic_n when_o he_o be_v mind_v to_o encourage_v any_o of_o they_o and_o he_o order_v that_o all_o the_o meat_n of_o those_o his_o domestic_n shall_v be_v put_v upon_o his_o own_o table_n think_v this_o will_v be_v a_o great_a indearment_n to_o they_o as_o it_o be_v to_o child_n and_o if_o he_o have_v a_o mind_n to_o recommend_v any_o of_o his_o friend_n to_o the_o esteem_n of_o a_o great_a many_o he_o will_v send_v they_o meat_n from_o his_o own_o table_n and_o it_o be_v the_o manner_n at_o this_o day_n for_o all_o man_n to_o honour_n and_o reverence_n those_o who_o have_v any_o thing_n send_v they_o from_o the_o king_n table_n because_o they_o look_v upon_o they_o as_o special_a favourite_n who_o have_v a_o interest_n to_o gain_v any_o thing_n for_o they_o if_o need_v be_v neither_o be_v it_o upon_o these_o account_n only_o that_o those_o thing_n be_v most_o welcome_a which_o be_v send_v from_o the_o king_n but_o those_o meat_n be_v real_o more_o delicious_a which_o come_v from_o the_o king_n table_n and_o no_o wonder_n for_o as_o other_o art_n arrive_v to_o high_a improvement_n in_o great_a city_n so_o be_v the_o king_n meat_n more_o curious_o order_v then_o any_o other_o for_o in_o little_a town_n it_o belong_v to_o one_o trade_n to_o make_v bedstead_n gate_n plough_n and_o table_n and_o build_v house_n and_o it_o be_v well_o if_o they_o can_v get_v their_o live_n so_o but_o now_o it_o be_v impossible_a that_o those_o who_o be_v take_v up_o in_o so_o many_o employment_n shall_v do_v they_o all_o well_o but_o in_o great_a city_n where_o there_o be_v a_o great_a many_o that_o want_v each_o of_o these_o one_o of_o these_o trade_n be_v enough_o to_o maintain_v a_o man._n nay_o oftentimes_o one_o do_v not_o engross_v a_o whole_a trade_n to_o himself_o but_o one_o make_v man_n shoe_n and_o another_o woman_n shoe_n sometime_o it_o be_v maintenance_n enough_o for_o one_o man_n to_o work_v shoe_n and_o for_o another_o
