of_o faith_n and_o therefore_o either_o there_o must_v be_v no_o end_n of_o add_v to_o the_o scripture_n or_o else_o none_o such_o must_v now_o be_v raise_v there_o may_v be_v some_o prudential_a predicting_n of_o good_a man_n and_o suspicious_a presaging_n of_o evil_a man_n and_o shrewd_a conjecturing_n of_o common_a man_n but_o what_o be_v all_o these_o to_o the_o prophesying_n of_o holy_a man_n of_o god_n in_o old_a time_n yet_o we_o say_v god_n hand_n be_v not_o shorten_v but_o that_o he_o can_v still_o raise_v up_o such_o but_o who_o can_v say_v that_o he_o will_v do_v it_o or_o that_o there_o be_v just_a cause_n why_o he_o shall_v so_o do_v we_o conclude_v therefore_o in_o the_o general_n that_o prophecy_n be_v cease_v and_o that_o of_o a_o extraordinary_a gift_n at_o first_o it_o be_v become_v more_o extraordinary_a to_o after_o age_n what_o reason_n then_o have_v we_o to_o be_v so_o blind_a of_o faith_n as_o to_o admit_v of_o a_o state_v art_n of_o divination_n in_o its_o stead_n chap._n xxii_o from_o the_o rarity_n of_o miracle_n 1_o whither_o every_o thing_n that_o be_v affect_v above_o beside_o or_o against_o the_o course_n and_o order_n faculty_n and_o 2._o whether_o that_o may_v absolute_o be_v say_v to_o be_v a_o miracle_n who_o effect_n be_v manifest_a and_o who_o cause_n be_v occult_a or_o unknown_a to_o we_o no._n except_o it_o be_v act_v simple_o by_o the_o first_o cause_n and_o for_o cause_n only_o know_v to_o he_o 2._o except_o it_o exceed_v all_o man_n exact_a knowledge_n indifferent_o one_o as_o well_o as_o another_o 3._o except_o not_o so_o to_o another_o and_o a_o profane_a curiosity_n of_o art_n will_v boast_v of_o more_o light_n and_o experiment_n in_o divine_a work_n then_o indeed_o be_v vouchsafe_v to_o the_o persuasion_n of_o a_o pious_a faith_n 3._o whether_o the_o power_n of_o work_a miracle_n be_v not_o proper_a to_o god_n alone_o this_o must_v be_v affirm_v and_o can_v be_v deny_v 1._o because_o he_o only_o can_v work_v a_o miracle_n of_o himself_o to_o who_o nothing_o be_v a_o miracle_n 2._o because_o he_o only_o can_v work_v against_o the_o order_n of_o nature_n and_o second_o cause_n who_o will_n be_v 4._o because_o a_o divine_a power_n require_v not_o a_o subject_n to_o work_v upon_o for_o it_o be_v able_a to_o create_v all_o thing_n of_o nothing_o neither_o look_v it_o at_o the_o possibility_n or_o propensity_n of_o that_o subject_n to_o the_o produce_v of_o the_o effect_n as_o every_o create_a power_n do_v 5._o because_o the_o proper_a cause_n of_o a_o miracle_n must_v not_o only_o be_v uncreated_a infinite_a omnipotent_a indeterminate_a etc._n etc._n but_o it_o must_v also_o be_v occult_a unsearchable_a incomprehensible_a now_o no_o cause_n be_v simple_o so_o but_o the_o hide_a god_n himself_o 6._o because_o it_o can_v be_v a_o miracle_n unless_o it_o be_v absolute_o and_o universal_o wonderful_a or_o to_o be_v equal_o admire_v of_o all_o creature_n of_o the_o same_o kind_n now_o it_o be_v only_o for_o god_n and_o neither_o for_o angel_n or_o man_n to_o do_v such_o thing_n as_o shall_v be_v admirable_a to_o their_o fellow_n and_o not_o so_o to_o themselves_o 7._o because_o if_o any_o other_o can_v work_v miracle_n but_o god_n or_o but_o by_o god_n than_o miracle_n can_v not_o be_v the_o indubitable_a sign_n and_o proof_n of_o a_o god_n nor_o of_o god_n word_n the_o particular_a order_n of_o nature_n that_o be_v know_v to_o we_o but_o be_v part_n of_o whole_a create_a nature_n themselves_o they_o can_v act_v against_o it_o the_o main_a reason_n of_o a_o
