the_o law_n which_o be_v spiritual_a holy_a righteous_a and_o good_a for_o lust_n be_v capable_a to_o conceive_v in_o adam_n posterity_n thus_o renew_v and_o set_v up_o afresh_o as_o well_o as_o it_o do_v in_o himself_o at_o first_o and_o lust_n when_o it_o have_v thus_o conceive_v bring_v forth_o sin_n or_o a_o envy_v and_o contest_v against_o the_o glory_n of_o christ_n second_o appearance_n which_o sin_n be_v perfect_v or_o come_v to_o its_o fix_v of_o the_o mind_n in_o a_o unchangeable_a and_o implacable_a enmity_n thereunto_o bring_v forth_o death_n even_o that_o death_n which_o be_v spiritual_a and_o eternal_a so_o rom._n 8._o such_o a_o carnal_a mind_n as_o this_o be_v call_v death_n as_o it_o stand_v in_o such_o a_o enmity_n to_o the_o spiritual_a mind_n that_o it_o be_v neither_o subject_n to_o that_o law_n of_o god_n which_o be_v the_o law_n of_o the_o cross_n and_o spirit_n of_o life_n nor_o indeed_o can_v be_v thus_o say_v the_o apostle_n by_o the_o come_n of_o the_o commandment_n sin_n revive_v and_o 1_o die_v and_o what_o be_v ordain_v for_o life_n i_o find_v unto_o i_o to_o be_v unto_o death_n sin_n get_v into_o its_o vigour_n and_o strength_n thereby_o the_o heart_n show_v itself_o a_o right_a change_n and_o a_o real_a heart-work_n above_o and_o beyond_o all_o that_o be_v account_v civility_n and_o morality_n and_o above_o all_o notion_n and_o spirituality_n that_o be_v but_o head-work_n and_o fancy_n what_o be_v now_o to_o be_v do_v say_v the_o tempter_n to_o this_o sort_n of_o man_n but_o to_o persuade_v they_o torest_n here_o and_o praise_n and_o bless_v god_n word_n that_o by_o this_o first_o visit_n and_o beginning_n have_v make_v so_o beautiful_a &_o glorious_a a_o change_n in_o their_o heart_n &_o nature_n as_o this_o be_v whereof_o the_o experience_n be_v so_o lively_a and_o refresh_a especial_o when_o reflection_n be_v make_v upon_o what_o they_o be_v change_v from_o when_o bring_v to_o this_o and_o the_o way_n and_o mean_n of_o attain_v it_o which_o have_v also_o the_o approbation_n and_o praise_n of_o visible_a church_n and_o saint_n and_o of_o the_o best_a man_n so_o judge_v by_o man_n day_n which_o make_v they_o say_v let_v we_o tabernacle_n here_o with_o moses_n and_o elias_n especial_o if_o we_o be_v upon_o the_o mount_n and_o bring_v thither_o by_o christ_n himself_o transfigure_v himself_o there_o before_o we_o in_o this_o earthly_a build_n of_o the_o renew_a natural_a man_n let_v we_o fix_v and_o resist_v all_o dawning_n and_o approaching_n of_o any_o high_a or_o better_a state_n let_v this_o our_o ishmael_n live_v be_v once_o the_o voice_n of_o abraham_n himself_o that_o afterward_o be_v persuade_v to_o offer_v up_o his_o isaac_n that_o be_v but_o according_a to_o the_o flesh_n if_o we_o mind_n and_o nature_n in_o such_o manner_n as_o may_v be_v quite_o contrary_a to_o the_o mind_n of_o god_n and_o the_o true_a end_n of_o such_o conformity_n wrought_v in_o he_o unto_o the_o law_n experience_v by_o this_o mean_n the_o evil_a that_o be_v incident_a unto_o a_o pure_a and_o uncorrupt_a state_n of_o be_v and_o that_o lust_n that_o be_v to_o be_v know_v only_o by_o the_o come_n of_o the_o law_n which_o evil_a desire_n or_o lust_n of_o man_n in_o this_o state_n be_v a_o covetousness_n which_o set_v up_o idolatry_n in_o the_o high_a strain_n endeavour_v to_o oppose_v christ_n in_o the_o spirit_n by_o christ_n in_o the_o flesh_n by_o exalt_v the_o glory_n of_o his_o first_o appearance_n above_o that_o of_o the_o second_o sin_n in_o this_o sense_n have_v for_o the_o mother_n and_o nurse_n of_o it_o man_n natural_a righteousness_n wherein_o he_o be_v apt_a to_o glory_n and_o be_v puff_v up_o without_o cause_n contrary_a to_o the_o true_a meaning_n of_o the_o law_n which_o require_v he_o indeed_o to_o cherish_v and_o maintain_v the_o natural_a righteousness_n and_o holiness_n therein_o and_o thereby_o minister_v whether_o consider_v as_o it_o shine_v forth_o in_o the_o flesh_n of_o christ_n or_o in_o their_o own_o heart_n and_o conscience_n in_o opposition_n to_o that_o which_o be_v the_o filth_n of_o the_o flesh_n or_o to_o the_o rest_v in_o our_o own_o personal_a morality_n and_o virtue_n before_o the_o law_n come_v to_o we_o but_o authorise_v he_o not_o or_o warrant_v he_o to_o oppose_v herewith_o the_o cross_n of_o christ_n and_o the_o excellency_n of_o the_o knowledge_n of_o he_o crucify_a or_o to_o resist_v upon_o pretence_n of_o keep_v that_o up_o the_o come_n in_o of_o the_o better_a and_o more_o excellent_a glory_n when_o once_o therefore_o such_o a_o frame_n of_o spirit_n as_o a_o root_n of_o gall_n and_o bitterness_n be_v spring_v up_o in_o man_n and_o that_o wilful_o against_o manifest_a conviction_n and_o long_a contestation_n and_o patience_n on_o god_n part_n to_o bring_v they_o to_o another_o mind_n at_o last_o they_o be_v bring_v by_o sad_a experience_n to_o find_v that_o in_o their_o flesh_n dwell_v no_o good_a thing_n but_o such_o as_o will_v be_v leak_a out_o of_o this_o fleshly_a build_n of_o the_o first_o adam_n at_o its_o best_a if_o rest_v in_o and_o subject_a to_o corrupt_v so_o that_o whilst_o with_o the_o mind_n they_o serve_v the_o law_n of_o god_n with_o the_o flesh_n
