unite_v to_o we_o by_o faith_n as_o meat_n be_v let_v down_o to_o be_v turn_v into_o our_o substance_n by_o eat_v be_v thus_o receive_v he_o will_v refresh_v and_o strengthen_v the_o soul_n as_o meat_n do_v a_o hungry_a man_n and_o faith_n must_v be_v daily_o exercise_v out_o of_o new_a sense_n of_o want_n as_o eat_v be_v daily_o renew_v by_o reason_n of_o new_a appetite_n from_o the_o carnal_a sense_n upon_o christ_n spiritual_a word_n and_o so_o do_v occasion_n their_o own_o stumble_n for_o this_o they_o stumble_v at_o how_o can_v this_o man_n give_v we_o his_o flesh_n to_o eat_v they_o understand_v it_o of_o bodily_a eat_n and_o this_o they_o can_v endure_v because_o it_o be_v inhuman_a to_o eat_v man_n flesh_n and_o his_o own_o body_n can_v not_o be_v food_n that_o way_n to_o all_o the_o world_n far_o less_o can_v it_o give_v life_n but_o christ_n mean_v no_o such_o thing_n they_o stumble_v on_o their_o own_o mistake_n and_o they_o who_o assert_v such_o a_o bodily_a eat_n of_o christ_n flesh_n and_o yet_o do_v not_o stumble_v at_o it_o be_v more_o brutish_a than_o these_o capernaite_n 4._o the_o right_a way_n to_o be_v satisfy_v about_o any_o point_n of_o truth_n or_o doctrine_n be_v to_o come_v to_o christ_n himself_o in_o his_o own_o appoint_a mean_n and_o they_o who_o neglect_v this_o be_v just_o leave_v to_o stumble_v in_o darkness_n for_o herein_o they_o fail_v they_o strive_v among_o themselves_o about_o it_o but_o come_v not_o to_o he_o for_o resolution_n verse_n 53._o then_o say_v jesus_n unto_o they_o very_o

multitude_n at_o capernaum_n or_o these_o who_o follow_v he_o over_o the_o sea_n for_o loaf_n but_o even_o many_o of_o his_o ordinary_a follower_n mistake_v it_o doctrine_n 1._o when_o christ_n have_v take_v most_o pain_n to_o inculcate_v and_o clear_v save_v and_o necessary_a truth_n yet_o ordinary_o the_o most_o part_n will_v never_o make_v they_o welcome_a fâ—r_n they_o be_v many_o who_o stumble_v to_o wit_n in_o compassion_n of_o thâ—se_a to_o who_o his_o doctrine_n be_v savoury_a 2._o profession_n of_o visible_a interest_n in_o christ_n will_v not_o 〈◊〉_d â—â—ove_v find_v to_o the_o disciple_n do_v here_o miscarry_v 3._o carnal_a heart_n as_o they_o do_v not_o understand_v so_o they_o can_v digest_v the_o spiritual_a truth_n of_o christ_n and_o their_o corrupt_a disposition_n disrelish_v the_o word_n be_v a_o main_a stumble_a block_n unto_o they_o for_o this_o be_v the_o cause_n of_o their_o miscarriage_n here_o they_o say_v this_o be_v a_o hard_a say_n or_o intolerable_a it_o be_v not_o so_o indeed_o but_o as_o they_o understand_v and_o take_v it_o carnal_o and_o the_o blame_n be_v not_o in_o the_o doctrine_n but_o in_o their_o corrupt_a taste_n which_o make_v what_o be_v sweet_a bitter_a to_o they_o 4._o carnal_a man_n and_o such_o as_o get_v no_o good_a of_o hear_v be_v in_o peril_n to_o grow_v still_o the_o long_o the_o worse_o and_o at_o last_o impatient_a of_o hear_v at_o all_o for_o they_o who_o murmur_v and_o strave_n before_o come_v now_o to_o this_o who_o can_v hear_v it_o 5._o corrupt_a man_n do_v measure_v all_o other_o by_o themselves_o and_o their_o pride_n and_o self-love_n make_v they_o imagine_v that_o christ_n and_o his_o truth_n can_v relish_v no_o better_o with_o any_o than_o it_o do_v with_o they_o therefore_o say_v they_o who_o and_o the_o secret_a out-breaking_n thereof_o how_o secret_o however_o they_o be_v convey_v therefore_o do_v heâ—â—e_n prove_v that_o which_o he_o know_v in_o himself_o they_o be_v guilty_a of_o 4._o doctrine_n of_o christ_n some_o at_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o cross_n other_o at_o the_o depth_n of_o his_o decree_n some_o at_o the_o strict_a doctrine_n of_o holiness_n and_o renounce_v our_o
