of_o the_o godhead_n into_o the_o flesh_n assume_v or_o take_v that_o then_o the_o other_o part_n of_o the_o ungodlie_a assertion_n of_o eutyches_n before_o concern_v he_o and_o his_o heresy_n see_v before_o shall_v be_v ercete_v and_o set_v up_o a_o wonderful_a wound_n indeed_o flow_v from_o such_o diverse_a matter_n to_o wit_n the_o separate_n of_o the_o nature_n on_o the_o one_o side_n &_o i_o say_v that_o if_o the_o personal_a union_n be_v to_o be_v define_v and_o determine_v by_o the_o effusion_n or_o pour_v forth_o of_o all_o property_n that_o then_o this_o absurdity_n he_o overthrow_v the_o error_n by_o absurdity_n insume_v upon_o it_o the_o first_o absurdity_n which_o of_o all_o thing_n be_v most_o false_a &_o ungodly_a will_v follow_v thereupon_o to_o wit_n that_o god_n be_v in_o some_o sort_n personal_o unite_v unto_o all_o thing_n create_v why_o so_o because_o the_o effusion_n or_o pour_v forth_o of_o all_o &_o some_o property_n alone_o do_v not_o differ_v and_o godlike_a absurdity_n the_o second_o absurdity_n again_o if_o the_o definition_n of_o the_o personal_a union_n be_v true_a it_o will_v follow_v thereupon_o that_o the_o three_o person_n be_v unite_v to_o that_o flesh_n that_o be_v assume_v or_o take_v for_o the_o essential_a propriety_n of_o the_o very_a godhead_n itself_o be_v common_a to_o the_o three_o person_n in_o one_o &_o the_o selfsame_a essence_n or_o be_v therefore_o to_o be_v infinite_a almighty_a know_v all_o thing_n present_v every_o where_o &c_n &c_n as_o they_o themselves_o now_o speak_v be_v not_o propriety_n either_o of_o the_o father_n or_o of_o the_o son_n or_o of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n but_o only_o of_o that_o alone_a and_o altogether_o singular_a godhead_n whereupon_o it_o follow_v that_o if_o we_o grant_v that_o definition_n of_o the_o personal_a union_n that_o then_o the_o 3_o person_n of_o the_o godhead_n be_v incarnate_a absurdity_n they_o be_v so_o call_v because_o they_o affirm_v that_o answer_v christ_n be_v present_a govern_v all_o thing_n we_o answer_v that_o be_v true_a as_o he_o be_v god_n and_o yet_o the_o person_n of_o christ_n be_v not_o for_o all_o that_o rend_v in_o sunder_o or_o divide_v for_o even_o christ_n man_n be_v every_o where_o the_o lord_n be_v present_a also_o every_o where_n much_o more_o in_o the_o supper_n where_n in_o what_o respect_n christ_n be_v present_a every_o where_n howbeit_o not_o as_o in_o respect_n of_o the_o manhood_n itself_o but_o as_o in_o regard_n of_o another_o that_o be_v to_o say_v as_o he_o be_v one_o person_n not_o in_o himself_o as_o in_o regard_n of_o his_o manhood_n but_o in_o the_o very_a nature_n of_o the_o godhead_n itself_o of_o which_o the_o humanity_n be_v so_o assume_v that_o it_o be_v one_o subsistence_n or_o be_v together_o with_o it_o as_o a_o little_a while_n ago_o we_o declare_v therefore_o the_o man_n christ_n be_v in_o deed_n present_a to_o wit_n as_o he_o the_o self_n same_o be_v christ_n god_n and_o yet_o the_o manhood_n of_o christ_n be_v not_o now_o in_o any_o other_o place_n than_o in_o heaven_n 4.10_o the_o three_o objection_n answer_v ephes_n 4.10_o but_o it_o be_v yet_o further_o together_o as_o it_o be_v with_o christ_n body_n but_o fie_o upon_o this_o monster_n and_o let_v we_o learn_v always_o to_o drive_v it_o far_o from_o we_o for_o who_o perceive_v not_o that_o the_o body_n arise_v or_o flow_v from_o this_o fellowship_n or_o communicate_v and_o belong_v altogether_o to_o a_o spiritual_a life_n be_v mystical_a wherefore_o we_o be_v true_o but_o yet_o after_o a_o spiritual_a sort_n and_o mystical_o become_v one_o with_o christ_n himself_o through_o faith_n that_o so_o from_o he_o there_o may_v flow_v into_o we_o true_a life_n similitude_n a_o similitude_n and_o even_o as_o these_o our_o member_n be_v natural_o join_v with_o the_o soul_n do_v receive_v from_o it_o sense_n and_o move_v so_o shall_v we_o after_o a_o spiritual_a and_o undeclarable_a manner_n for_o great_a be_v the_o mystery_n of_o that_o spiritual_a marriage_n that_o be_v between_o christ_n and_o his_o church_n 5.32_o ephes_n 5.32_o as_o the_o apostle_n large_o and_o lowdlie_o declare_v live_v in_o christ_n be_v lead_v and_o govern_v by_o his_o spirit_n and_o he_o again_o manifest_a and_o declare_v his_o powerful_a work_n in_o us._n now_o tell_v i_o be_v this_o the_o abolish_n of_o that_o partake_n that_o we_o have_v with_o christ_n himself_o or_o do_v we_o not_o rather_o make_v it_o a_o divine_a and_o heavenly_a partake_n but_o if_o with_o these_o man_n we_o will_v make_v it_o a_o communicate_v with_o the_o mouth_n than_o this_o partake_n or_o communicate_v shall_v be_v no_o wonderful_a or_o excellent_a matter_n truth_n we_o can_v approve_v of_o a_o bodily_a communicate_v or_o partake_v with_o the_o mouth_n because_o that_o be_v to_o spoil_v our_o faith_n and_o rob_v god_n of_o his_o almighty_a power_n &_o truth_n for_o what_o i_o pray_v you_o be_v more_o natural_a and_o usual_a than_o if_o any_o thing_n that_o be_v in_o deed_n present_a be_v deliver_v we_o to_o eat_v we_o take_v it_o in_o our_o hand_n and_o swallow_v it_o down_o through_o our_o mouth_n but_o that_o we_o though_o as_o now_o poor_a wretch_n we_o be_v place_v on_o the_o earth_n &_o not_o else_o where_o shall_v notwithstanding_o true_o and_o in_o deed_n become_v the_o very_a member_n of_o the_o flesh_n and_o blood_n of_o christ_n himself_o who_o now_o according_a to_o his_o flesh_n remain_v in_o heaven_n and_o no_o where_o else_o and_o shall_v fetch_v from_o thence_o the_o very_a ivice_n in_o deed_n of_o eternal_a life_n notwithstanding_o that_o wonder_a great_a distance_n of_o place_n that_o be_v between_o he_o and_o we_o this_o i_o say_v pass_v all_o man_n understanding_n and_o be_v a_o most_o evident_a testimony_n both_o of_o god_n truth_n and_o also_o of_o his_o almighty_a power_n and_o let_v this_o suffice_v also_o for_o answer_n to_o these_o slanderer_n who_o cry_v out_o that_o we_o transform_v this_o holy_a mystery_n into_o a_o imaginary_a ghost_n or_o conceit_n in_o that_o we_o do_v attribute_v all_o this_o whole_o to_o our_o mind_n &_o faith_n error_n if_o the_o adversary_n conclusion_n be_v true_a then_o there_o will_v ensue_v thereupon_o two_o gross_a error_n for_o if_o they_o do_v true_o conclude_v this_o against_o we_o what_o imagination_n and_o not_o in_o truth_n more_o two_o similitude_n contain_v in_o they_o argument_n from_o the_o less_o to_o the_o more_o who_o die_v before_o they_o can_v come_v to_o be_v present_a at_o or_o partaker_n of_o the_o lord_n supper_n now_o if_o natural_a understanding_n itself_o and_o apprehension_n be_v so_o powerful_a and_o effectual_a that_o we_o be_v holpen_v by_o these_o faculty_n become_v skilful_a in_o so_o many_o thing_n shall_v not_o faith_n that_o excellent_a gift_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n work_v this_o in_o we_o that_o we_o shall_v through_o faith_n true_o and_o in_o deed_n apprehend_v &_o take_v hold_n of_o that_o very_a thing_n which_o god_n offer_v we_o to_o be_v receive_v by_o faith_n though_o it_o be_v never_o so_o far_o remoove_v from_o we_o and_o since_o by_o the_o heat_n of_o the_o sun_n though_o it_o be_v never_o so_o far_o distant_a from_o we_o the_o whole_a world_n be_v after_o a_o sort_n quicken_v and_o make_v livelie_a and_o strong_a shall_v not_o christ_n be_v able_a though_o his_o flesh_n and_o his_o blood_n remain_v in_o heaven_n so_o to_o become_v in_o deed_n our_o mystical_a head_n that_o he_o may_v pour_v into_o we_o the_o ivice_n of_o eternal_a life_n all_o the_o conclusion_n of_o all_o but_o of_o these_o matter_n we_o have_v speak_v thus_o far_o my_o purpose_n be_v brethren_n large_o to_o discourse_n of_o these_o point_n because_o of_o the_o slander_n of_o certain_a ilwiller_n that_o so_o by_o this_o mean_n the_o true_a and_o sound_a doctrine_n of_o our_o church_n be_v make_v know_v none_o of_o they_o that_o repair_n to_o this_o church_n shall_v refuse_v our_o assembly_n special_o the_o holy_a supper_n which_o we_o mind_n god_n willing_a within_o few_o day_n to_o administer_v but_o rather_o that_o we_o shall_v every_o one_o of_o we_o religious_o celebrate_v this_o holy_a banquet_n earnest_o entreat_v the_o lord_n to_o restrain_v troublesome_a spirit_n to_o confirm_v right_a believer_n prayer_n a_o godly_a prayer_n and_o to_o be_v short_a to_o grant_v we_o all_o this_o grace_n that_o be_v of_o one_o mind_n in_o he_o we_o may_v in_o this_o world_n lead_v a_o innocent_a and_o unblameable_a life_n and_o at_o the_o last_o be_v receive_v into_o eternal_a life_n and_o blessedness_n by_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n to_o who_o with_o the_o father_n and_o the_o holy_a ghost_n be_v all_o praise_n and_o glory_n for_o ever_o and_o ever_o so_o be_v it_o a_o short_a sum_n of_o sound_a doctrine_n touch_v the_o matter_n of_o the_o sacrament_n of_o the_o lord_n supper_n we_o have_v to_o consider_v in_o christ_n our_o only_a mediator_n christ_n four_o thing_n to_o be_v special_o regard_v in_o christ_n especial_o four_o thing_n that_o be_v to_o say_v 1_o christ_n person_n 2_o his_o office_n 3_o the_o gift_n 〈◊〉_d grace_n which_o we_o receive_v from_o he_o 4_o last_o by_o what_o mean_v we_o be_v make_v partaker_n of_o those_o gift_n 1_o concern_v christ_n person_n person_n christ_n consist_v of_o two_o nature_n be_v yet_o but_o one_o person_n we_o teach_v &_o affirm_v that_o christ_n do_v consist_v of_o two_o nature_n the_o one_o the_o nature_n of_o god_n the_o other_o the_o nature_n of_o man_n make_v yet_o notwithstanding_o but_o one_o person_n of_o both_o nature_n and_o that_o so_o also_o as_o the_o propriety_n both_o in_o the_o nature_n of_o god_n and_o also_o of_o man_n remain_v safe_a and_o sound_a and_o be_v right_o distinguish_v one_o of_o they_o from_o another_o stand_v wherein_o the_o glorification_n of_o christ_n body_n stand_v and_o though_o we_o confess_v the_o man_n nature_n of_o christ_n to_o be_v glorify_v and_o that_o in_o the_o chief_a degree_n one_o and_o that_o no_o less_o true_o and_o straitlie_o than_o the_o member_n be_v join_v to_o a_o natural_a body_n but_o yet_o in_o that_o manner_n and_o after_o that_o sort_n which_o we_o will_v hereafter_o declare_v neither_o do_v they_o please_v satisfy_v or_o content_v we_o wherefore_o this_o our_o join_v with_o christ_n unto_o that_o great_a mystery_n of_o his_o incarnation_n for_o this_o be_v a_o general_a communicate_v or_o partake_v of_o his_o nature_n with_o we_o but_o here_o we_o entreat_v of_o god_n promise_n 1.13_o ephes_n 1.13_o and_o the_o earnest_a penny_n of_o our_o adoption_n and_o salvation_n if_o that_o promise_n of_o our_o saviour_n christ_n be_v not_o accomplish_v or_o how_o can_v we_o find_v comfort_n against_o the_o fear_n of_o death_n or_o peace_n in_o our_o conscience_n against_o the_o sight_n of_o sin_n and_o judgement_n due_a unto_o we_o for_o the_o same_o without_o this_o of_o a_o truth_n the_o remembrance_n of_o our_o dissolution_n and_o departure_n hence_o this_o be_v remoove_v shall_v be_v grievous_a and_o the_o horror_n of_o hell_n the_o just_a punishment_n of_o our_o iniquity_n will_v be_v ready_a every_o hour_n to_o overwhelm_v us._n we_o need_v not_o stand_v long_o upon_o this_o point_n either_o this_o must_v be_v true_a that_o we_o have_v the_o in_o the_o same_o as_o also_o for_o the_o discharge_n of_o our_o conscience_n before_o god_n and_o man_n but_o in_o a_o word_n or_o two_o as_o it_o be_v make_v a_o short_a but_o withal_o a_o sound_n
