notwithstanding_o he_o have_v feel_v the_o sweeness_n of_o a_o prosperous_a estate_n and_o the_o comfort_n of_o friend_n yea_o and_o the_o comfort_n of_o god_n favour_n shine_v upon_o his_o heart_n and_o many_o other_o particular_a mercy_n yet_o when_o god_n turn_v his_o hand_n and_o take_v away_o the_o comfort_n of_o his_o life_n the_o comfort_n and_o society_n of_o his_o friend_n the_o comfortable_a expression_n of_o his_o own_o love_n to_o his_o soul_n and_o threaten_v the_o take_v away_o even_o of_o life_n itself_o job_n can_v now_o in_o this_o case_n resolve_v to_o rest_v in_o the_o determination_n and_o appointment_n and_o will_n of_o god_n here_o be_v patience_n now_o thus_o brief_o you_o have_v hear_v what_o the_o duty_n be_v to_o which_o the_o apostle_n exhort_v it_o be_v patience_n that_o be_v a_o willing_a resign_v of_o ourselves_o to_o god_n appointment_n in_o the_o change_n of_o our_o life_n but_o now_o that_o be_v not_o enough_o 1.11_o the_o apostle_n content_v not_o himself_o to_o say_v have_v patience_n but_o let_v patience_n have_v her_o perfect_a work_n he_o will_v have_v they_o grow_v in_o patience_n to_o grow_v from_o one_o degree_n to_o another_o to_o abound_v in_o patience_n as_o the_o apostle_n speak_v of_o hope_n and_o joy_n in_o rom._n 15.13_o that_o they_o may_v not_o only_o have_v patience_n but_o have_v it_o bring_v to_o patience_n signify_v to_o bear_v up_o a_o man_n to_o support_v he_o under_o a_o burden_n that_o he_o be_v not_o press_v down_o by_o it_o so_o he_o will_v have_v they_o have_v such_o a_o measure_n of_o patience_n as_o may_v bear_v up_o the_o soul_n in_o the_o great_a pressure_n that_o though_o they_o be_v afflict_v they_o may_v not_o be_v break_v in_o their_o affliction_n thus_o you_o have_v the_o duty_n open_v let_v patience_n have_v her_o perfect_a work_n the_o reason_n be_v that_o you_o may_v be_v perfect_a and_o entire_a want_v nothing_o that_o you_o may_v be_v entire_a nothing_o some_o understand_v it_o thus_o that_o you_o may_v be_v entire_a in_o respect_n of_o every_o grace_n in_o respect_n of_o all_o gracious_a habit_n that_o you_o may_v have_v one_o grace_n as_o well_o as_o the_o meaning_n of_o the_o word_n the_o part_n be_v two_o text_n a_o exhortation_n to_o duty_n a_o argument_n to_o enforce_v that_o exhortation_n the_o duty_n whereto_o they_o be_v exhort_v be_v to_o that_o they_o shall_v be_v perfect_a in_o patience_n let_v patience_n have_v her_o perfect_a work_n the_o argument_n whereby_o they_o be_v persuade_v to_o this_o duty_n it_o be_v that_o they_o may_v be_v entire_a and_o want_v nothing_o that_o they_o may_v have_v all_o that_o be_v necessary_a to_o a_o christian_n we_o will_v observe_v two_o conclusion_n hence_o which_o we_o shall_v follow_v at_o every_o child_n by_o nature_n as_o soon_o as_o it_o be_v bear_v but_o yet_o if_o the_o sin_n of_o the_o parent_n be_v add_v to_o it_o that_o may_v bring_v temporal_a judgement_n there_o be_v many_o instance_n and_o example_n of_o this_o how_o god_n have_v visit_v upon_o the_o posterity_n of_o wicked_a person_n the_o sin_n of_o their_o father_n according_a to_o that_o threaten_n in_o the_o second_o commandment_n and_o this_o you_o shall_v see_v either_o in_o godly_a child_n of_o wicked_a parent_n or_o in_o ungodly_a child_n of_o godly_a parent_n suppose_v a_o man_n leave_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o wealth_n to_o his_o child_n and_o have_v one_o that_o fear_v god_n among_o they_o it_o may_v please_v god_n to_o lay_v some_o loss_n or_o cross_n upon_o he_o to_o the_o undo_n of_o he_o father_n and_o yet_o a_o mercy_n upon_o the_o child_n a_o judgement_n upon_o the_o father_n that_o all_o that_o he_o have_v labour_v for_o that_o which_o he_o lose_v his_o soul_n for_o shall_v be_v vain_a shall_v come_v to_o nothing_o and_o not_o benefit_v his_o posterity_n as_o he_o think_v yet_o it_o be_v a_o mercy_n to_o the_o child_n to_o the_o child_n of_o god_n he_o by_o this_o mean_n be_v ashamed_a to_o sit_v in_o the_o gate_n as_o solomon_n speak_v no_o man_n can_v upbraid_v he_o with_o his_o child_n 31._o so_o it_o be_v a_o correction_n to_o god_n child_n even_o when_o their_o by_o omission_n or_o commission_n make_v himself_o guilty_a of_o the_o sin_n of_o the_o child_n etc._n etc._n and_o so_o if_o the_o child_n either_o by_o imintation_n or_o allowance_n go_v on_o in_o his_o father_n way_n he_o draw_v a_o great_a judgement_n upon_o himself_o by_o add_v to_o his_o father_n sin_n and_o as_o they_o be_v alike_o in_o sin_n so_o they_o shall_v be_v alike_o in_o so_o that_o both_o continue_v to_o be_v though_o they_o be_v not_o unite_v as_o before_o the_o word_n of_o god_n teach_v we_o that_o he_o have_v create_v the_o world_n as_o it_o be_v a_o house_n of_o three_o story_n the_o middle_n be_v this_o present_a life_n where_o we_o be_v and_o there_o be_v a_o low_a place_n the_o dungeon_n a_o place_n of_o unhappiness_n and_o destruction_n there_o be_v a_o high_a place_n a_o palace_n of_o glory_n according_a as_o man_n behave_v themselves_o in_o this_o middle_a room_n so_o death_n either_o lead_v they_o down_o to_o the_o place_n of_o unhappiness_n or_o convey_v they_o up_o to_o the_o palace_n of_o glory_n and_o blessedness_n this_o nature_n be_v ignorant_a of_o but_o the_o scripture_n be_v plain_a in_o the_o rich_a man_n die_v and_o his_o soul_n be_v carry_v to_o hell_n the_o poor_a man_n when_o he_o die_v his_o soul_n be_v advance_v to_o heaven_n so_o that_o death_n be_v nothing_o but_o the_o messenger_n of_o god_n to_o take_v the_o soul_n out_o of_o the_o body_n and_o to_o convey_v it_o to_o a_o place_n of_o more_o happiness_n or_o more_o misery_n than_o can_v be_v conceive_v second_o death_n the_o scripture_n acquaint_v we_o further_o
