as_o thereby_o in_o danger_n of_o this_o dreadful_a woe_n answ_n 1._o the_o world_n be_v just_o offend_v when_o professor_n by_o principle_n which_o they_o hold_v or_o maintain_v do_v put_v out_o the_o light_n of_o nature_n will_v tell_v such_o a_o loose_a professor_n such_o a_o atheist_n i_o shall_v say_v that_o his_o principle_n be_v a_o lie_n and_o he_o be_v a_o liar_n for_o when_o he_o behold_v the_o creature_n and_o thing_n that_o be_v make_v the_o light_n of_o nature_n dictate_v to_o he_o that_o he_o can_v never_o make_v it_o and_o that_o therefore_o there_o must_v be_v a_o almighty_a power_n by_o which_o these_o thing_n be_v make_v be_v order_v and_o govern_v etc._n etc._n again_o if_o a_o professor_n maintain_v such_o a_o principle_n that_o there_o be_v no_o need_n of_o prayer_n etc._n etc._n worship_v god_n in_o such_o a_o way_n the_o light_n of_o nature_n will_v tell_v he_o that_o it_o be_v a_o lie_n for_o the_o light_n of_o nature_n teach_v this_o that_o there_o be_v a_o jewish_a sanctification_n or_o legal_a and_o that_o be_v such_o a_o sanctification_n as_o be_v beget_v by_o the_o terror_n of_o the_o law_n but_o there_o be_v another_o sanctification_n and_o that_o be_v a_o gospel-sanctification_a that_o be_v such_o a_o sanctification_n as_o be_v wrought_v in_o the_o soul_n from_o the_o behold_v the_o love_n of_o god_n in_o jesus_n christ_n such_o a_o sanctification_n as_o be_v wrought_v from_o believe_v his_o justification_n now_o there_o be_v a_o great_a difference_n between_o this_o sanctification_n and_o the_o other_o which_o arise_v only_o from_o a_o enlighten_v conscience_n for_o both_o arise_v from_o a_o enlighten_v conscience_n the_o one_o from_o conscience_n be_v enlighten_v by_o nature_n law_n the_o other_o from_o the_o write_a law_n but_o there_o be_v a_o great_a difference_n answ_n 1._o that_o which_o arise_v from_o natural_a conscience_n be_v something_o of_o the_o more_o gross_a part_n of_o sanctification_n but_o a_o piece_n and_o do_v not_o take_v in_o any_o thing_n of_o the_o fine_a part_n of_o sanctification_n a_o forsake_v some_o sin_n that_o be_v outward_a and_o gross_a his_o conscience_n can_v but_o fly_v in_o his_o face_n so_o that_o he_o shall_v not_o rest_v quiet_o night_n nor_o day_n such_o as_o drunkenness_n adultery_n and_o the_o like_a it_o be_v in_o respect_n of_o those_o duty_n that_o be_v more_o apparent_a such_o as_o prayer_n hear_v the_o word_n such_o if_o a_o man_n shall_v let_v alone_o he_o shall_v have_v no_o quiet_a nor_o peace_n in_o conscience_n but_o that_o sanctification_n that_o come_v from_o faith_n that_o be_v in_o respect_n of_o the_o inward_a more_o secret_a evil_n of_o the_o soul_n the_o secret_a rise_n of_o pride_n unbeleef_n and_o passion_n and_o so_o for_o more_o inward_a duty_n that_o sanctification_n teach_v a_o man_n to_o deny_v himself_o to_o submit_v himself_o to_o god_n will_v to_o be_v content_a with_o god_n disposal_n 2._o that_o sanctification_n which_o come_v from_o a_o enlighten_v conscience_n only_o raise_v a_o man_n to_o be_v more_o self_n conceit_v but_o that_o sanctification_n that_o come_v from_o faith_n and_o believe_a throw_v a_o man_n down_o in_o respect_n of_o all_o self-conceit_n it_o make_v a_o man_n more_o mean_a and_o low_a in_o his_o own_o eye_n as_o the_o scribe_n and_o pharisee_n and_o jew_n in_o our_o saviour_n time_n they_o have_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o this_o outward_a holiness_n and_o sanctification_n but_o see_v how_o it_o puff_v they_o up_o how_o they_o stand_v upon_o tiptoe_n and_o crow_v over_o poor_a harlot_n and_o publican_n as_o not_o fit_a to_o come_v in_o the_o company_n of_o such_o as_o they_o be_v but_o that_o which_o come_v from_o faith_n make_v the_o soul_n more_o humble_a what_o abundance_n of_o sanctification_n paul_n have_v he_o do_v press_v after_o perfection_n do_v walk_v more_o like_a one_o in_o heaven_n than_o on_o earth_n yet_o he_o can_v look_v upon_o himself_o as_o the_o least_o of_o saint_n concern_v act_v for_o god_n labour_v in_o the_o work_n of_o god_n he_o preach_v the_o gospel_n from_o jerusalem_n to_o illiricum_n labour_v more_o abundant_o than_o they_o all_o yet_o how_o humble_a yet_o not_o i_o but_o
