expiatory_a for_o himself_o there_o be_v every_o whit_n as_o much_o require_v for_o the_o atone_a of_o one_o man_n sin_n as_o be_v for_o the_o sin_n of_o the_o whole_a world_n yet_o have_v the_o infiniteness_n of_o this_o satisfaction_n extend_v only_o to_o himself_o and_o to_o the_o purge_n of_o his_o own_o sin_n and_o not_o so_o much_o as_o to_o one_o other_o in_o so_o much_o that_o in_o this_o case_n have_v he_o mean_v to_o have_v propitiate_v for_o the_o world_n after_o he_o have_v once_o die_v and_o overcome_v death_n for_o himself_o he_o must_v have_v return_v again_o into_o the_o infirmity_n of_o the_o flesh_n and_o have_v suffer_v death_n the_o second_o time_n upon_o this_o consideration_n doubtless_o it_o be_v that_o the_o holy_a ghost_n tender_v the_o satisfaction_n and_o peace_n of_o the_o conscience_n of_o believer_n touch_v the_o fullness_n and_o unquestionablenesse_n of_o their_o redemption_n and_o salvation_n by_o the_o death_n of_o christ_n still_o insert_v the_o mention_n of_o his_o perfect_a righteousness_n when_o he_o speak_v of_o his_o death_n or_o suffering_n for_o they_o by_o his_o knowledge_n shall_v my_o righteous_a servant_n justify_v many_o for_o he_o shall_v bear_v their_o iniquity_n that_o be_v the_o punishment_n due_a to_o their_o iniquity_n esa_fw-la 53.11_o manifest_o imply_v that_o there_o be_v a_o great_a weight_n and_o moment_n in_o the_o righteousness_n of_o christ_n person_n to_o assure_v or_o secure_v the_o conscience_n of_o man_n concern_v their_o justification_n by_o his_o death_n you_o may_v please_v at_o leisure_n to_o peruse_v and_o compare_v these_o scripture_n further_o be_v all_o with_o many_o more_o of_o the_o same_o consideration_n 2_o cor._n 5.21_o heb._n 9.14_o 1_o pet._n 1.19_o 1_o pet._n 2.22_o 23.24_o etc._n etc._n thus_o then_o we_o have_v at_o least_o discover_v another_o great_a end_n of_o the_o righteousness_n or_o active_a obedience_n of_o christ_n viz_o the_o qualification_n of_o his_o person_n at_o least_o in_o part_n for_o that_o meritoriousnesse_n of_o his_o death_n which_o may_v stand_v the_o world_n in_o stead_n for_o their_o justification_n so_o that_o there_o be_v no_o necessity_n at_o all_o of_o have_v recourse_n to_o the_o pretend_a imputation_n for_o salve_v the_o necessity_n or_o usefulness_n of_o it_o by_o what_o we_o have_v reason_v in_o this_o last_o passage_n it_o appear_v how_o little_a substance_n of_o truth_n there_o be_v in_o that_o which_o some_o much_o insist_v upon_o sect_n 9_o as_o a_o confirmation_n of_o the_o argument_n now_o under_o debate_n viz._n that_o the_o bare_a union_n of_o the_o godhead_n with_o the_o flesh_n or_o humane_a nature_n of_o christ_n do_v sufficient_o qualify_v it_o for_o a_o sacrifice_n they_o mean_v for_o a_o sacrifice_n of_o that_o same_o expiatory_a value_n and_o virtue_n which_o now_o it_o be_v so_o that_o in_o this_o respect_n at_o least_o there_o can_v be_v no_o necessity_n or_o use_n of_o his_o fulfil_n the_o law_n doubtless_o the_o man_n of_o this_o affirmation_n either_o do_v not_o consider_v the_o necessity_n of_o that_o personal_a integrity_n in_o christ_n which_o we_o late_o demonstrate_v and_o which_o the_o scripture_n from_o place_n to_o place_n insinuate_v or_o else_o they_o conceive_v that_o christ_n man_n may_v have_v be_v righteous_a without_o do_v the_o work_n of_o righteousness_n that_o be_v without_o keep_v the_o law_n which_o be_v all_o one_o as_o if_o they_o shall_v say_v he_o may_v have_v be_v righteous_a though_o he_o have_v transgress_v for_o not_o to_o keep_v the_o law_n in_o those_o to_o who_o the_o law_n be_v give_v be_v nothing_o else_o but_o to_o transgress_v if_o they_o think_v to_o relieve_v themselves_o with_o this_o interpretation_n of_o their_o notion_n that_o if_o christ_n have_v suffer_v in_o the_o first_o hour_n or_o instant_n of_o his_o incarnation_n or_o immediate_o after_o the_o personal_a union_n of_o the_o two_o nature_n his_o sacrifice_n have_v be_v of_o equal_a value_n merit_n and_o satisfaction_n with_o what_o now_o it_o be_v and_o yet_o in_o this_o case_n he_o have_v not_o fulfil_v or_o keep_v the_o law_n i_o answer_v that_o this_o interpretation_n be_v every_o whit_n as_o unfound_a and_o inconsistent_a with_o reaâ—on_n as_o the_o text_n itself_o for_o first_o let_v this_o supposition_n be_v admit_v that_o christ_n may_v have_v suffer_v in_o the_o womb_n and_o that_o this_o suffering_n of_o his_o have_v be_v as_o full_o satisfactory_a for_o the_o world_n as_o those_o suffering_n be_v which_o he_o have_v now_o endure_v yet_o have_v he_o be_v as_o perfect_o righteous_a in_o this_o case_n and_o consequent_o have_v observe_v and_o keep_v the_o law_n as_o perfect_o as_o now_o he_o have_v do_v for_o the_o law_n require_v of_o infant_n during_o their_o infancy_n nothing_o but_o integrity_n and_o holiness_n of_o nature_n which_o doubtless_o the_o lord_n christ_n have_v from_o the_o first_o moment_n of_o his_o conception_n &_o a_o child_n or_o infant_n thus_o qualify_v i_o mean_v with_o holiness_n &_o integrity_n of_o nature_n keep_v the_o law_n as_o perfect_o &_o exact_o as_o a_o man_n live_v to_o 30_o or_o 40_o year_n of_o age_n shall_v do_v in_o case_n he_o never_o transgress_v but_o second_o sect_n 10_o this_o interpretation_n draw_v the_o say_n itself_o quite_o beside_o the_o business_n in_o hand_n and_o make_v it_o a_o mere_a impertinency_n to_o the_o present_a question_n for_o when_o we_o affirm_v the_o righteousness_n of_o christ_n life_n or_o his_o obedience_n to_o the_o moral_a law_n to_o be_v of_o absolute_a necessity_n for_o the_o qualification_n of_o his_o person_n for_o a_o meet_a sacrifice_n our_o meaning_n be_v not_o that_o there_o be_v a_o absolute_a necessity_n that_o he_o shall_v have_v keep_v the_o law_n upon_o the_o same_o term_n every_o way_n which_o now_o he_o have_v do_v as_o that_o he_o shall_v perform_v the_o same_o individual_a act_n of_o obedience_n or_o the_o same_o number_n of_o act_n in_o case_n he_o have_v be_v call_v to_o the_o suffering_n of_o death_n any_o whit_n soon_o than_o now_o he_o be_v but_o that_o until_o the_o very_a hour_n and_o instant_n wherein_o he_o shall_v suffer_v whether_o it_o be_v soon_o or_o late_a he_o shall_v in_o all_o thing_n submit_v himself_o unto_o the_o good_a will_n and_o pleasure_n of_o god_n concern_v he_o aswell_o in_o that_o general_a law_n which_o require_v obedience_n of_o all_o man_n beside_o which_o we_o call_v moral_a as_o in_o that_o particular_a and_o special_a law_n of_o mediator_n which_o be_v give_v unto_o and_o impose_v upon_o himself_o alone_o such_o a_o indefinite_a righteousness_n as_o this_o we_o judge_v and_o have_v i_o suppose_v unanswerable_o prove_v to_o have_v be_v simple_o necessary_a in_o christ_n for_o the_o raise_n of_o that_o sacrifice_n of_o himself_o to_o that_o height_n of_o acceptation_n in_o the_o behalf_n of_o other_o which_o now_o it_o have_v find_v at_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n but_o however_o suppose_v this_o necessity_n or_o use_n of_o the_o righteousness_n of_o christ_n can_v not_o be_v sufficient_o clear_v yet_o since_o there_o be_v many_o other_o of_o undeniable_a evidence_n the_o position_n so_o much_o contend_v for_o viz._n that_o the_o godhead_n of_o christ_n sufficient_o qualify_v he_o for_o such_o a_o sacrifice_n as_o he_o be_v make_v nothing_o at_o all_o for_o the_o imputation_n of_o his_o righteousness_n in_o the_o sense_n pretend_v therefore_o we_o shall_v not_o trouble_v either_o ourselves_o or_o our_o reader_n any_o further_a with_o untie_v a_o impertinent_a knot_n but_o seven_o sect_n 11_o as_o christ_n be_v a_o sacrifice_n so_o be_v he_o and_o yet_o be_v and_o be_v to_o be_v for_o ever_o heb._n 7.17_o &_o
