infer_v that_o in_o this_o place_n to_o receyve_v christ_n and_o believe_v in_o his_o name_n be_v to_o be_v understand_v of_o justification_n but_o according_a as_o some_o of_o themselves_o say_v of_o the_o work_n of_o god_n in_o make_v we_o to_o believe_v of_o the_o which_o follow_v the_o dignity_n and_o prerogative_n of_o be_v son_n as_o the_o first_o and_o immediate_a fruit_n of_o faith_n in_o jesus_n christ_n in_o which_o sense_n we_o deny_v not_o but_o this_o place_n may_v be_v commodious_o interpret_v although_o it_o seem_v that_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n do_v mean_a somewhat_o more_o for_o understanding_n whereof_o we_o be_v first_o to_o consider_v the_o three_o point_n which_o we_o have_v say_v to_o be_v the_o ground_n of_o the_o mistake_n of_o this_o place_n which_o stand_v in_o the_o not_o distinguish_v betwixt_o the_o father_n work_n and_o the_o son_n in_o our_o adoption_n although_o in_o the_o same_o place_n they_o be_v clear_o distinguish_v by_o the_o evangelist_n which_o oversight_n make_v great_a confusion_n in_o knowledge_n for_o we_o be_v to_o understand_v that_o although_o the_o three_o person_n of_o the_o trinity_n be_v neither_o in_o subsist_v nor_o work_v to_o be_v separate_v yet_o in_o both_o they_o be_v still_o to_o be_v distinguish_v and_o never_o to_o be_v confound_v if_o ever_o we_o think_v to_o have_v a_o clear_a and_o unconfused_a sight_n of_o these_o great_a work_n of_o grace_n which_o they_o perform_v in_o us._n now_o in_o this_o place_n the_o work_n of_o the_o father_n and_o the_o work_n of_o the_o son_n in_o our_o adoption_n be_v clear_o and_o distinct_o set_v down_o like_o as_o in_o other_o part_n the_o work_n of_o the_o spirit_n
as_o be_v clear_a rom._n chap._n 5._o 1._o in_o which_o we_o have_v to_o observe_v that_o as_o the_o father_n by_o adoption_n make_v we_o one_o with_o the_o son_n so_o by_o justification_n he_o make_v we_o one_o with_o himself_o conform_v to_o the_o say_n of_o the_o apostle_n 2._o corinth_n chapt_n 5._o vers_fw-la 19_o for_o god_n be_v in_o christ_n reconcile_a the_o world_n unto_o himself_o by_o order_n and_o difference_n that_o be_v among_o be_v benefit_n of_o god_n for_o in_o other_o place_n of_o scripture_n redemption_n as_o likewise_o justification_n and_o reconciliation_n be_v take_v in_o a_o large_a sense_n to_o signify_v the_o whole_a freedom_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n and_o every_o part_n thereof_o in_o particular_a and_o that_o because_o all_o liberty_n peace_n and_o reconciliation_n whatsoever_o be_v give_v we_o of_o god_n flow_v from_o the_o death_n of_o christ_n in_o the_o which_o stand_v our_o righteousness_n peace_n &_o redemption_n for_o which_o cause_n it_o be_v that_o in_o the_o scripture_n sometime_o our_o justification_n be_v ascribe_v to_o the_o death_n of_o christ_n sometime_o our_o sanctification_n sometime_o our_o reconciliation_n and_o sometime_o our_o redemption_n because_o howsoever_o these_o blessing_n as_o they_o be_v impart_v unto_o we_o differ_v both_o in_o order_n and_o nature_n yet_o they_o proceed_v all_o from_o one_o fountain_n and_o be_v all_o comprehend_v only_o in_o that_o one_o oblation_n of_o jesus_n christ_n upon_o the_o cross_n for_o clear_n our_o judgement_n therefore_o in_o this_o point_n we_o be_v careful_o to_o mark_v these_o two_o sense_n in_o the_o which_o in_o the_o scripture_n redemption_n justification_n and_o reconciliation_n and_o sanctification_n be_v take_v sometime_o they_o be_v take_v for_o the_o action_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n for_o his_o saint_n when_o as_o god_n be_v in_o christ_n reconcile_a the_o world_n to_o himself_o according_a to_o that_o which_o he_o have_v purpose_v in_o christ_n which_o be_v as_o say_v the_o apostle_n eph._n chap._n 1._o vers_fw-la 10._o that_o in_o the_o fullness_n of_o time_n he_o will_v gather_v together_o all_o thing_n in_o christ_n jesus_n &_o as_o say_v the_o same_o apostle_n coll._n chap._n 1._o ver_fw-la 20._o it_o please_v the_o father_n to_o reconcile_v all_o thing_n to_o himself_o by_o he_o make_v peace_n by_o the_o blood_n of_o his_o cross_n in_o this_o sense_n god_n at_o one_o time_n by_o the_o only_a one_o oblation_n of_o jesus_n christ_n in_o one_o work_n once_o perform_v do_v eternal_o redeem_v justify_v sanctify_v and_o reconcill_n christ_n die_v in_o which_o sense_n the_o apostle_n speak_v of_o they_o 1._o coll._n 1._o 21._o 22._o saying_n and_o you_o also_o which_o be_v in_o time_n past_o stranger_n and_o enemy_n have_v your_o mind_n exercise_v in_o evil_a work_n have_v he_o now_o reconcile_v in_o that_o body_n of_o his_o flesh_n by_o death_n and_o in_o this_o sense_n it_o be_v that_o both_o order_n and_o difference_n be_v to_o be_v mark_v among_o these_o benefit_n in_o consideration_n whereof_o how_o so_o ever_o adoption_n and_o justification_n agree_v in_o this_o that_o they_o both_o be_v benefit_n bestow_v by_o imputation_n without_o inhesion_n in_o we_o yet_o as_o they_o differ_v in_o nature_n so_o do_v they_o in_o order_n in_o respect_n of_o the_o ground_n whereupon_o they_o be_v build_v &_o whence_o they_o flow_v for_o adoption_n neither_o depend_v upon_o nor_o flow_v from_o the_o death_n of_o christ_n but_o from_o his_o personal_a property_n of_o be_v the_o son_n of_o god_n whereas_o suffering_n so_o do_v our_o adoption_n in_o order_n go_v before_o our_o justification_n chapter_n xx._n hitherto_o have_v we_o speak_v of_o those_o ground_n whereby_o both_o the_o nature_n and_o order_n of_o god_n save_v benefit_n be_v most_o clear_o know_v so_o that_o by_o these_o thing_n which_o be_v already_o set_v down_o a_o modest_a mind_n only_o search_v truth_n and_o abhor_v contention_n may_v sufficient_o know_v what_o justification_n before_o god_n be_v yet_o notwithstanding_o for_o the_o further_a contentement_n of_o those_o of_o weak_a judgement_n we_o will_v speak_v point_n be_v call_v in_o controversy_n and_o man_n judgement_n be_v divers_a concern_v every_o one_o of_o they_o in_o the_o work_n of_o justification_n but_o to_o eschew_v longsomnes_n we_o will_v reduce_v all_o that_o we_o be_v to_o speak_v into_o these_o few_o ground_n the_o first_o shall_v be_v touch_v the_o special_a divers_a and_o several_a judgement_n of_o man_n concern_v justification_n the_o second_o shall_v be_v touch_v the_o discuss_n of_o these_o point_n controvert_v which_o be_v of_o great_a moment_n the_o three_o shall_v be_v concern_v the_o work_n itself_o of_o justification_n
