great_a care_n on_o a_o short_a abode_n and_o little_a on_o a_o long_a but_o we_o ought_v to_o have_v transitory_a thing_n in_o hatred_n not_o only_o in_o regard_n of_o the_o eternal_a life_n but_o even_o in_o respect_n of_o this_o temporal_a they_o disquiet_v and_o vex_v we_o with_o a_o thousand_o care_n while_o we_o be_v procure_v they_o and_o with_o a_o thousand_o fear_n and_o fright_n lest_o we_o fall_v short_a of_o they_o we_o brook_v any_o loss_n but_o impatient_o which_o happen_v so_o frequent_o as_o they_o do_v we_o be_v toss_v in_o a_o continual_a sea_n of_o grief_n anger_n and_o endless_a vexation_n he_o alone_z who_o go_v contrary_a to_o the_o world_n live_v without_o contrariety_n and_o in_o a_o holy_a repose_n how_o then_o do_v these_o thing_n deserve_v the_o name_n of_o good_n which_o be_v so_o noisome_a and_o torment_a to_o we_o rather_o the_o quite_o opposite_a eat_v to_o be_v style_v such_o which_o far_o soon_o render_v we_o such_o by_o put_v we_o in_o mind_n of_o our_o present_a condition_n by_o make_v we_o think_v upon_o god_n and_o have_v recourse_n to_o he_o by_o occasion_v our_o great_a merit_n and_o assimilate_v we_o to_o the_o only_o beget_v son_n of_o god_n the_o lover_n of_o man_n jesus_n do_v most_o true_o term_v those_o not_o only_o good_a but_o also_o beatify_v yea_o the_o choice_a of_o the_o heathen_a philosopher_n hold_v not_o those_o thing_n which_o the_o world_n so_o much_o adore_v good_a but_o their_o contrary_n some_o of_o they_o hate_v and_o reject_v temporal_a riches_n that_o at_o least_o in_o this_o life_n void_a of_o care_n and_o fear_n and_o perplexity_n of_o mind_n they_o may_v enjoy_v a_o temporal_a felicity_n it_o redound_v to_o our_o great_a shame_n that_o heathen_n shall_v do_v so_o who_o want_v the_o example_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n who_o be_v out_o of_o hope_n of_o other_o good_n and_o this_o when_o the_o world_n be_v in_o its_o youth_n and_o verdure_n and_o abound_v more_o with_o such_o allurement_n though_o false_a and_o counterfeit_n but_o we_o have_v the_o glory_n of_o imitate_v jesus_n and_o the_o incentive_a of_o a_o heavenly_a reward_n the_o world_n moreover_o be_v now_o grow_v worse_o and_o more_o deform_a and_o want_v not_o only_o solid_a good_n but_o also_o fade_a now_o it_o scarce_o have_v where_o with_o all_o to_o bait_v a_o deceitful_a book_n its_o false_a varnish_n be_v wash_v of_o in_o so_o much_o that_o it_o can_v deceive_v we_o unless_o we_o deceive_v ourselves_o the_o xii_o chapter_n of_o the_o excellency_n of_o one_o that_o be_v in_o the_o state_n of_o grace_n why_o seek_v thou_o any_o thing_n of_o the_o world_n if_o thou_o be_v above_o the_o world_n why_o love_v thou_o any_o earthly_a thing_n since_o thou_o be_v belove_v of_o god_n how_o can_v he_o stick_v in_o the_o mud_n of_o nature_n who_o be_v elevate_v to_o the_o state_n of_o grace_n o_o good_a as_o little_a understand_v as_o much_o neglect_v god_n have_v bestow_v large_a and_o precious_a promise_n upon_o we_o to_o make_v we_o sharer_n of_o his_o divine_a nature_n why_o seek_v he_o any_o thing_n beside_o god_n who_o have_v find_v the_o grace_n of_o god_n which_o raise_v he_o above_o all_o nature_n yea_o even_o that_o of_o the_o high_a throne_n cherubin_n and_o seraphin_n if_o therr_v be_v consider_v in_o itself_o though_o so_o far_o surpass_v all_o other_o create_v substance_n by_o which_o we_o have_v god_n for_o our_o father_n for_o our_o friend_n and_o unseparable_a achates_n it_o be_v account_v a_o matter_n of_o high_a concernment_n among_o man_n to_o have_v precedency_n of_o place_n or_o dignity_n before_o other_o and_o what_o will_v it_o then_o be_v to_o have_v a_o preeminence_n above_o all_o the_o degree_n of_o nature_n although_o the_o world_n be_v never_o so_o estimable_a &_o the_o thing_n in_o it_o beyond_o our_o valuation_n yet_o they_o ought_v to_o be_v contemn_v by_o one_o in_o the_o state_n of_o grace_n the_o devil_n be_v intolerable_o proud_a yet_o he_o regard_v not_o the_o opinion_n of_o man_n concern_v he_o nor_o deem_v himself_o one_o jot_n the_o worse_a for_o be_v revild_a by_o they_o he_o seek_v not_o popular_a applause_n he_o sleight_n material_a thing_n he_o loathe_v what_o we_o relish_v so_o savourly_o he_o scoff_n at_o our_o affair_n and_o all_o this_o for_o no_o other_o reason_n but_o because_o he_o be_v of_o a_o more_o sublime_a nature_n why_o then_o be_v man_n who_o be_v raise_v to_o a_o participation_n of_o god_n nature_n who_o be_v rankd_v in_o the_o high_a class_n of_o creature_n so_o solicitous_a about_o these_o base_a trifle_n certain_o if_o he_o understand_v thorough_o the_o dignity_n that_o be_v confer_v upon_o he_o by_o be_v right_o confess_v and_o put_v in_o the_o state_n of_o grace_n nothing_o else_o will_v be_v requisite_a to_o make_v he_o contemn_v and_o deride_v these_o foppery_n of_o creature_n nor_o be_v any_o great_a store_n of_o virtue_n needful_a to_o move_v he_o to_o this_o but_o he_o will_v do_v it_o even_o by_o his_o vicious_a nature_n unless_o we_o shall_v hold_v it_o impossible_a that_o grace_n can_v be_v the_o author_n of_o a_o misdeed_n the_o wicked_a spirit_n without_o any_o virtue_n at_o all_o have_v a_o most_o mean_a conceit_n of_o these_o sublunary_a thing_n and_o why_o but_o because_o they_o be_v of_o a_o superior_a nature_n and_o rank_n above_o they_o what_o then_o ought_v man_v to_o do_v with_o virtue_n who_o be_v elevate_v above_o all_o nature_n if_o a_o great_a king_n in_o his_o robe_n of_o state_n shall_v find_v a_o spade_n or_o sickle_n lie_v in_o son_n of_o god_n himself_o say_v let_v all_o be_v one_o as_o thou_o o_o father_n in_o i_o and_o i_o in_o thou_o that_o they_o may_v also_o be_v one_o in_o we_o for_o although_o each_o just_a man_n beside_o the_o just_a of_o just_n jesus_n become_v only_o such_o by_o adoption_n there_o be_v a_o great_a tie_n &_o unity_n betwixt_o he_o &_o god_n then_o be_v find_v betwixt_o natural_a parent_n the_o just_a to_o this_o we_o may_v add_v that_o by_o grace_n we_o become_v the_o friend_n of_o god_n jesus_n himself_o utter_v these_o word_n sweet_a than_o honey_n drop_v you_o be_v my_o friend_n for_o by_o grace_n there_o accrue_v a_o certain_a dignity_n betwixt_o god_n and_o man_n not_o of_o a_o disproportionable_a degree_n but_o so_o dignify_n that_o it_o elevate_v he_o to_o the_o order_n
