or_o their_o persuasion_n one_o way_n or_o other_o less_o settle_v 10_o albeit_o this_o exposition_n of_o our_o apostle_n may_v seem_v strange_a and_o new_a to_o many_o honest_a and_o well_o dispose_v mind_n in_o our_o church_n yet_o in_o truth_n the_o manner_n of_o the_o deduction_n only_o be_v new_a the_o doctrine_n itself_o be_v general_o hold_v by_o all_o divine_n though_o not_o express_o in_o conclusion_n yet_o in_o the_o premise_n wherein_o it_o be_v essential_o contain_v and_o may_v be_v most_o evident_o deduce_v thus._n 11_o all_o all_o sin_n consist_v either_o in_o prefer_v none_o before_o some_o the_o less_o before_o a_o great_a or_o a_o corporal_n before_o a_o spiritual_a good_a the_o heinousness_n of_o sin_n in_o the_o excess_n of_o difference_n betwixt_o the_o true_a good_a neglect_a and_o the_o seem_a good_a embrace_v which_o be_v either_o absolute_o evil_a or_o else_o a_o far_o less_o good_a which_o in_o competition_n with_o the_o great_a good_a be_v likewise_o to_o one_o of_o these_o two_o it_o be_v questionable_a how_o or_o in_o what_o case_n doubt_v or_o scruple_n of_o what_o we_o do_v do_v make_v our_o action_n sinful_a sinful_a brief_o it_o be_v a_o external_n cause_n or_o circumstance_n concur_v to_o the_o make_n of_o a_o sinful_a action_n not_o any_o essential_a part_n or_o internal_a circumstance_n of_o the_o sin_n itself_o once_o cause_v and_o it_o thus_o concur_v only_o when_o that_o which_o in_o itself_o be_v evil_a or_o prove_v so_o in_o the_o event_n will_v not_o be_v â—vil_n unto_o we_o unless_o we_o have_v some_o doubt_n or_o scruple_n that_o be_v some_o notice_n or_o apprehension_n of_o it_o as_o evil_n in_o such_o case_n indeed_o we_o shall_v not_o sin_n unless_o we_o have_v former_o doubt_v but_o to_o speak_v exact_o we_o do_v not_o sin_n because_o we_o do_v what_o we_o doubt_v of_o but_o because_o in_o do_v â—â—ped_v some_o action_n when_o we_o doubt_v we_o exact_o prefer_v evil_a before_o good_a which_o otherwise_o we_o shall_v not_o albeit_o we_o do_v the_o self_n same_o action_n for_o it_o can_v not_o be_v evil_a to_o we_o without_o the_o apprehension_n of_o its_o nature_n so_o as_o the_o apprehension_n of_o it_o concur_v to_o the_o make_n of_o it_o evil._n and_o because_o in_o all_o doubt_n or_o scruple_n there_o be_v some_o apprehension_n of_o evil_n therefore_o when_o we_o doubt_v in_o case_n above_o mention_v our_o action_n be_v not_o of_o faith_n but_o sinful_a but_o if_o either_o we_o can_v be_v full_o persuade_v to_o the_o contrary_a that_o be_v if_o we_o can_v out_o of_o without_o it_o will_v be_v altogether_o unlawful_a and_o evil._n 1_o many_o in_o our_o day_n be_v persuade_v that_o no_o injunction_n of_o authority_n ought_v to_o move_v we_o to_o any_o thing_n which_o private_o we_o deem_v evil_a either_o absolute_o or_o unto_o we_o obedience_n in_o matter_n lawful_a they_o acknowledge_v to_o be_v good_a and_o acceptable_a in_o the_o sight_n of_o god_n faith_n or_o to_o proceed_v from_o faith_n which_o be_v command_v by_o the_o doctrine_n of_o faith_n or_o unto_o which_o we_o be_v incline_v or_o move_v by_o the_o habit_n or_o virtue_n of_o faith_n but_o neither_o be_v it_o always_o true_a whatsoever_o be_v not_o of_o faith_n in_o this_o sense_n be_v sin_n for_o so_o no_o recreation_n no_o merriment_n not_o eat_v and_o drink_v with_o many_o other_o work_v both_o of_o reason_n and_o nature_n general_o nothing_o mere_o indifferent_a can_v be_v true_o of_o faith_n at_o the_o least_o at_o this_o or_o that_o time_n how_o then_o be_v not_o all_o these_o sinful_a see_v they_o be_v not_o of_o faith_n in_o none_o of_o the_o former_a sense_n be_v neither_o act_n of_o faith_n nor_o enjoin_v by_o the_o doctrine_n of_o faith_n this_o necessary_o enforce_v we_o to_o seek_v a_o three_o signification_n of_o the_o former_a word_n 4_o three_o then_o that_o be_v say_v to_o be_v not_o of_o faith_n whatsoever_o be_v not_o warrantable_a mean_v by_o the_o doctrine_n of_o faith_n whatsoever_o conscience_n or_o the_o virtue_n of_o faith_n be_v consultâ—…_n countenance_n or_o allow_v but_o rather_o dissuade_v and_o in_o this_o sense_n
