efficient_a or_o first_o cause_v of_o our_o justification_n be_v whole_o of_o god_n grace_n but_o it_o be_v necessary_a to_o consider_v how_o god_n the_o father_n be_v concern_v in_o our_o justification_n yet_o more_o particular_o and_o 1._o he_o i._n e._n the_o father_n have_v be_v the_o injure_a person_n in_o order_n of_o nature_n and_o must_v therefore_o be_v satisfy_v and_o his_o wrath_n appease_v etc._n etc._n 2._o because_o the_o father_n know_v what_o will_v do_v to_o satisfy_v his_o justice_n and_o bring_v relief_n to_o the_o sinner_n for_o the_o law_n be_v break_v and_o he_o must_v find_v out_o a_o way_n to_o preserve_v the_o sanction_n of_o the_o law_n 3._o because_o the_o honour_n and_o glory_n of_o the_o name_n of_o the_o father_n may_v not_o be_v eclipse_v for_o we_o must_v not_o render_v the_o son_n more_o kind_a to_o his_o people_n than_o the_o father_n 4._o because_o the_o father_n be_v say_v to_o be_v our_o justifier_n rom._n 3.26_o he_o declare_v we_o righteous_a and_o pronounce_v we_o just_o but_o to_o apply_v what_o i_o have_v say_v use_v 1_o o_o believer_n let_v this_o be_v of_o use_n to_o stir_v you_o up_o to_o look_v into_o the_o channel_n intercessor_n for_o we_o and_o our_o advocate_n with_o the_o father_n to_o plead_v our_o cause_n and_o to_o plead_v the_o merit_n of_o his_o own_o blood_n for_o we_o rom._n 8.33_o 34._o who_o shall_v lay_v any_o thing_n to_o the_o charge_n of_o god_n elect_n it_o be_v god_n that_o justifi_v who_o be_v he_o that_o condemn_v it_o be_v christ_n that_o die_v yea_o rather_o that_o be_v rise_v again_o be_v fulfil_v and_o god_n justice_n full_o satisfy_v therefore_o by_o the_o whole_a righteousness_n of_o christ_n namely_o his_o holy_a life_n and_o meritorious_a death_n we_o be_v justify_v not_o by_o his_o death_n exclude_v his_o holy_a life_n but_o his_o holy_a life_n and_o bitter_a death_n justify_v we_o and_o be_v the_o meritorious_a cause_n of_o our_o justification_n and_o my_o belove_a consider_v 1._o that_o the_o first_o part_n be_v prove_v thus_o there_o be_v no_o justification_n before_o god_n without_o a_o perfect_a and_o complete_a righteousness_n as_o that_o which_o be_v agreeable_a to_o god_n holy_a nature_n and_o which_o be_v agreeable_a to_o his_o holy_a law_n and_o this_o i_o have_v already_o prove_v that_o a_o man_n must_v be_v perfect_o just_a or_o declare_v so_o upon_o just_a ground_n or_o he_o can_v be_v justify_v 2._o consider_v that_o there_o be_v no_o perfect_a righteousness_n but_o that_o which_o exact_o and_o full_o fulfil_v the_o law_n that_o be_v accept_v of_o god_n and_o this_o be_v do_v i_o mean_v the_o law_n fulfil_v two_o way_n 1._o by_o a_o perfect_a and_o perpetual_a conformity_n to_o the_o law_n not_o only_o a_o perfect_a conformity_n to_o it_o for_o the_o present_a but_o by_o a_o perpetual_a conformity_n to_o it_o in_o do_v all_o that_o the_o law_n enjoin_v according_a to_o the_o tenure_n of_o it_o do_v this_o and_o live_v or_o good_n but_o christ_n do_v full_o and_o perfect_o keep_v the_o law_n and_o make_v a_o full_a satisfaction_n to_o the_o justice_n of_o god_n for_o the_o breach_n of_o it_o he_o in_o every_o precept_n type_n promise_v and_o prophecy_n complete_o fulfil_v it_o to_o justify_v we_o thereby_o as_o our_o surety_n therefore_o 4._o consider_v that_o by_o the_o passive_a righteousness_n or_o meritorious_a death_n and_o suffer_v of_o christ_n we_o be_v not_o justify_v this_o do_v not_o justify_v we_o alone_o that_o be_v single_o consider_v and_o the_o reason_n follow_v reason_n 1._o because_o it_o be_v by_o his_o suffer_v for_o we_o and_o in_o our_o nature_n as_o our_o head_n surety_n and_o representative_a bear_v the_o penalty_n of_o the_o law_n he_o free_v we_o from_o hell_n 2._o because_o by_o his_o righteousness_n both_o habitual_a and_o actual_a he_o entitle_v we_o to_o heaven_n neither_o of_o which_o we_o be_v capable_a to_o perform_v therefore_o his_o passive_a obedience_n alone_o do_v not_o justify_v for_o by_o his_o passive_a obedience_n bear_v our_o punishment_n he_o only_o free_v we_o from_o hell_n and_o by_o his_o active_a obedience_n in_o keep_v perfect_o and_o perpetual_o the_o law_n he_o give_v we_o a_o title_n to_o the_o promise_n of_o glory_n now_o it_o be_v one_o thing_n to_o be_v free_v from_o punishment_n and_o another_o to_o be_v raise_v again_o into_o the_o king_n favour_n and_o presence_n wherefore_o 3._o as_o without_o the_o imputation_n or_o satisfaction_n of_o his_o suffering_n we_o can_v not_o be_v free_v from_o hell_n so_o without_o his_o perfect_a obedience_n and_o conformity_n to_o the_o holy_a law_n impute_v to_o we_o we_o can_v not_o be_v justify_v and_o save_v by_o the_o former_a viz._n the_o suffering_n of_o our_o saviour_n he_o have_v redeem_v we_o from_o the_o curse_n of_o the_o law_n and_o from_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n be_v make_v a_o curse_n for_o we_o gal._n 3.13_o and_o by_o the_o latter_a he_o make_v we_o partaker_n of_o the_o promise_a blessedness_n or_o give_v we_o a_o title_n to_o or_o interest_n in_o the_o promise_n of_o eternal_a life_n by_o perform_v for_o we_o in_o our_o nature_n that_o righteousness_n which_o be_v the_o condition_n of_o the_o promise_n do_v this_o i._n e._n perform_v this_o there_o be_v the_o precept_n and_o thou_o shall_v live_v that_o be_v the_o promise_n now_o this_o life_n be_v not_o only_o temporal_a but_o spiritual_a it_o be_v a_o life_n of_o peace_n in_o the_o favour_n and_o love_n of_o god_n a_o life_n of_o great_a consolation_n in_o god_n love_n and_o favour_n do_v this_o christ_n i._n e._n by_o that_o life_n that_o he_o live_v for_o we_o while_n on_o earth_n the_o benefit_n and_o blessing_n of_o which_o he_o plead_v now_o for_o we_o in_o heaven_n for_o it_o be_v to_o this_o end_n he_o live_v now_o for_o we_o in_o heaven_n there_o not_o only_o do_v he_o plead_v his_o bitter_a death_n and_o passion_n but_o also_o his_o holy_a life_n which_o be_v a_o perfect_a
