the_o power_n of_o satan_n and_o the_o curse_n of_o the_o law_n or_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n against_o we_o but_o these_o thing_n i_o confess_v be_v not_o sufficient_a for_o to_o any_o one_o that_o shall_v consider_v the_o imbecility_n of_o humane_a nature_n now_o in_o its_o state_n of_o mortality_n and_o imperfection_n it_o must_v needs_o methinks_v be_v evident_a that_o after_o this_o great_a salvation_n thus_o far_o wrought_v out_o for_o we_o and_o reveal_v unto_o we_o we_o still_o shall_v want_v grace_n and_o mercy_n to_o help_v in_o time_n of_o need_n grace_n to_o help_v our_o infirmity_n and_o to_o enable_v we_o acceptable_o to_o perform_v our_o duty_n and_o mercy_n to_o forgive_v we_o our_o sin_n and_o to_o succour_v we_o in_o our_o misery_n both_o these_o it_o be_v manifest_a that_o we_o want_v know_v therefore_o last_o that_o both_o these_o christ_n be_v enable_v to_o give_v unto_o we_o by_o his_o temptation_n and_o suffering_n for_o we_o for_o in_o 18._o that_o he_o himself_o have_v suffer_v be_v tempt_v he_o be_v able_a to_o succour_v they_o that_o be_v tempt_v but_o be_v not_o he_o able_a to_o succour_v we_o before_o he_o suffer_v and_o be_v tempt_v yes_o doubtless_o that_o he_o be_v as_o he_o be_v god_n over_o all_o bless_a for_o ever_o but_o infinite_a wisdom_n and_o goodness_n condescend_v to_o our_o infirmity_n be_v please_v to_o constitute_v another_o way_n of_o show_v mercy_n and_o afford_v succour_n to_o we_o in_o misery_n and_o temptation_n when_o we_o consider_v the_o infinite_a distance_n between_o god_n and_o we_o together_o with_o our_o manifold_a sin_n and_o odious_a miscarriage_n against_o he_o we_o may_v well_o be_v afraid_a to_o approach_v he_o or_o else_o void_a of_o confidence_n in_o our_o approach_n to_o the_o end_n therefore_o that_o we_o may_v have_v the_o high_a assurance_n that_o may_v be_v both_o of_o grace_n and_o mercy_n and_o of_o their_o accommodation_n to_o our_o nature_n under_o its_o abase_v reflection_n on_o itself_o it_o seem_v good_a to_o infinite_a wisdom_n so_o to_o order_v the_o matter_n as_o that_o the_o divine_a grace_n and_o mercy_n shall_v in_o some_o sort_n be_v make_v humane_a for_o be_v convey_v to_o we_o through_o the_o heart_n of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n the_o mercy_n of_o god_n be_v so_o assimilated_a unto_o and_o make_v the_o mercy_n of_o a_o man_n as_o that_o though_o we_o can_v conceive_v how_o the_o divine_a nature_n be_v dispose_v to_o show_v mercy_n yet_o by_o the_o familiar_a experience_n of_o our_o own_o heart_n towards_o other_o we_o may_v conceive_v how_o christ_n will_v be_v merciful_a unto_o we_o viz._n by_o way_n of_o pity_n
and_o compassion_n on_o we_o affliction_n and_o temptation_n we_o know_v be_v often_o grievous_a unto_o we_o our_o heart_n be_v trouble_v and_o our_o soul_n be_v sorrowful_a and_o sad_a under_o they_o those_o good_a man_n that_o know_v our_o condition_n and_o love_n our_o person_n especial_o if_o they_o be_v mere_o relate_v to_o we_o and_o have_v affection_n suitable_a to_o that_o â—â—lation_n these_o man_n i_o say_v dâ—_n sympathiâ—e_v with_o we_o in_o soâ—e_a sort_n they_o feel_v what_o we_o â—ndâ—â—e_v and_o share_v with_o we_o in_o our_o suffering_n and_o thus_o have_v god_n provide_v that_o our_o mediator_n shall_v to_o this_o end_n it_o behove_v he_o in_o all_o thing_n to_o be_v make_v like_o unot_n his_o brother_n by_o his_o incarnation_n he_o be_v make_v like_o unto_o we_o in_o the_o part_n and_o property_n the_o faculty_n and_o affection_n the_o imperfection_n and_o infirmity_n of_o our_o nature_n sin_n only_o except_v the_o same_o affection_n therefore_o of_o pity_n and_o compassion_n which_o in_o we_o be_v natural_a be_v by_o he_o assume_v together_o with_o the_o rest_n our_o sinless_a nature_n and_o probable_a it_o be_v that_o this_o most_o sweet_a and_o indear_n affection_n be_v more_o tender_a in_o he_o than_o it_o be_v in_o we_o because_o it_o be_v pure_a and_o altogether_o unmixed_a with_o the_o leaven_n of_o vice_n and_o so_o without_o any_o allay_n of_o leave_v we_o our_o own_o reason_n can_v not_o choose_v but_o approve_v of_o for_o it_o be_v such_o a_o unblemished_a pattern_n of_o purity_n as_o can_v be_v parallel_v in_o all_o the_o world_n he_o observe_v we_o have_v in_o the_o work_n the_o manner_n and_o the_o final_a cause_n of_o his_o passion_n dom._n for_o in_o the_o work_n there_o be_v patience_n in_o the_o manner_n humility_n in_o the_o cause_n charity_n commend_v unto_o we_o and_o indeed_o his_o patience_n in_o the_o one_o be_v so_o insuperable_a his_o humility_n in_o the_o other_o so_o admirable_a and_o his_o charity_n in_o the_o three_o so_o inestimable_a as_o that_o they_o pass_v our_o expression_n and_o be_v fir_n for_o no_o less_o than_o exstasy_n of_o apprehension_n and_o such_o be_v the_o nature_n of_o those_o virtue_n as_o that_o if_o we_o right_o follow_v he_o in_o these_o step_n of_o his_o example_n we_o shall_v undoubted_o pursue_v the_o high_a degree_n that_o can_v be_v of_o virtue_n and_o holiness_n for_o if_o patience_n have_v her_o perfect_a work_n it_o 4._o will_v make_v we_o perfect_a and_o entire_a want_v nothing_o if_o we_o be_v humble_a and_o lowly_a in_o heart_n we_o be_v qualify_v 5._o for_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n for_o he_o give_v grace_n to_o the_o humble_a and_o if_o we_o follow_v after_o charity_n we_o shall_v 10._o not_o only_o tread_v in_o the_o step_n of_o his_o example_n but_o also_o
