set_v forth_o the_o many_o grievance_n and_o oppression_n the_o kingdom_n groan_v under_o through_o the_o dissolute_a government_n of_o the_o late_a king_n edward_n the_o four_o they_o say_v far_o that_o the_o king_n be_v never_o marry_v to_o his_o pretend_a and_o repute_a queen_n or_o if_o he_o be_v that_o upon_o the_o account_n of_o a_o precontract_n to_o another_o lady_n that_o marriage_n be_v unlawful_a and_o ipso_fw-la facto_fw-la void_a and_o so_o either_o way_n all_o his_o child_n be_v illegitimate_a they_o say_v far_o that_o george_n the_o late_a duke_n of_o clarence_n be_v attaint_v of_o high_a treason_n and_o his_o blood_n corrupt_v by_o reason_n thereof_o his_o issue_n be_v debar_v or_o all_o right_a and_o claim_v to_o the_o crown_n but_o the_o reasonableness_n and_o the_o same_o to_o the_o ancient_a honourable_a estate_n and_o presperity_n and_o have_v in_o your_o great_a prudence_n justice_n princely_a courage_n and_o excellent_a virtue_n singular_a confidence_n have_v choose_v in_o all_o that_o in_o we_o be_v and_o by_o this_o our_o write_n choose_v you_o high_a and_o mighty_a prince_n our_o king_n and_o sovereign_a lord_n to_o who_o we_o know_v of_o certain_a it_o appertain_v to_o be_v choose_v from_o whence_o it_o appear_v that_o what_o they_o call_v election_n amount_v to_o no_o more_o than_o a_o ceremony_n or_o formality_n of_o acknowledge_v estate_n which_o our_o sovereign_a lord_n the_o king_n richard_z the_o third_z have_v to_o and_o in_o the_o crown_n and_o royal_a dignity_n of_o this_o realm_n of_o england_n be_v just_a and_o lawful_a as_o ground_v upon_o the_o law_n of_o god_n and_o of_o nature_n mind_n that_o and_o also_o upon_o the_o ancient_a law_n and_o landable_a custom_n and_o therefore_o not_o upon_o any_o statute_n but_o common-law_n of_o this_o say_a realm_n and_o so_o take_v and_o repute_v by_o all_o such_o person_n as_o be_v learned_a in_o the_o abovesaid_a law_n and_o custom_n yet_o nevertheless_o here_o once_o for_o all_o take_v notice_n of_o the_o true_a reason_n of_o the_o parliament_n meddle_v with_o the_o succession_n for_o as_o much_o as_o it_o be_v consider_v that_o the_o most_o part_n of_o the_o people_n be_v not_o sufficient_o learned_a in_o the_o abovesaid_a law_n and_o custom_n whereby_o the_o truth_n and_o right_n in_o this_o behalf_n of_o likelihood_n may_v be_v hide_v and_o not_o clear_o know_v to_o all_o the_o people_n and_o thereupon_o put_v in_o doubt_n and_o question_n and_o over_o this_o how_o that_o the_o court_n of_o parliament_n be_v of_o such_o authority_n and_o the_o people_n of_o this_o land_n of_o such_o a_o nature_n and_o disposition_n as_o experience_n teach_v that_o manifestation_n and_o declaration_n of_o any_o truth_n or_o right_o make_v by_o the_o
