be_v the_o eternal_a son_n of_o god_n who_o pity_v that_o sinful_a and_o miserable_a condition_n whereinto_o we_o be_v all_o bring_v by_o the_o disobedience_n of_o our_o first_o parent_n undertake_v a_o way_n set_v open_a even_o for_o the_o worst_a sinner_n to_o become_v partaker_n of_o the_o riches_n of_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n now_o if_o any_o man_n sin_n we_o have_v a_o advocate_n with_o the_o father_n jesus_n christ_n the_o righteous_a and_o he_o be_v the_o propitiation_n for_o our_o sin_n etc._n etc._n 1_o john_n 2.1_o 2._o and_o though_o the_o time_n of_o his_o abode_n upon_o earth_n in_o the_o day_n of_o his_o flesh_n be_v but_o short_a though_o his_o suffering_n be_v but_o for_o a_o season_n yet_o such_o be_v and_o be_v the_o dignity_n of_o his_o person_n be_v the_o eternal_a son_n of_o god_n that_o his_o suffering_n and_o obedience_n be_v infinite_o meritorious_a and_o his_o blood_n be_v able_a to_o cleanse_v we_o from_o all_o unrighteousness_n so_o that_o we_o may_v well_o say_v with_o the_o apostle_n who_o be_v he_o that_o condemn_v it_o be_v christ_n that_o die_v or_o rather_o who_o be_v rise_v again_o and_o now_o make_v intercession_n for_o we_o rom._n 8.33_o 34._o but_o let_v no_o man_n turn_v this_o doctrine_n of_o comfort_n to_o a_o liberty_n of_o sin_v against_o the_o great_a sin_n there_o be_v hope_n in_o christ_n for_o penitent_a believer_n but_o because_o there_o be_v mercy_n with_o god_n shall_v we_o therefore_o go_v on_o in_o sin_n god_n forbid_v there_o be_v mercy_n with_o he_o and_o therefore_o he_o must_v be_v fear_v but_o if_o any_o man_n shall_v presume_v to_o sin_n because_o there_o be_v mercy_n with_o god_n through_o jesus_n christ_n instead_o of_o mercy_n that_o man_n be_v like_a to_o meet_v with_o nothing_o but_o it_o be_v so_o in_o he_o that_o by_o believe_v in_o he_o we_o obtain_v life_n and_o that_o it_o be_v so_o in_o he_o that_o without_o believe_v in_o he_o we_o get_v no_o benefit_n at_o all_o by_o he_o and_o thus_o you_o have_v the_o truth_n of_o the_o former_a answer_n enlarge_v and_o confirm_v according_a to_o it_o be_v several_a branch_n by_o which_o it_o be_v manifest_a that_o faith_n in_o the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n and_o nothing_o else_o but_o only_a faith_n in_o he_o can_v help_v we_o to_o the_o pardon_n of_o sin_n the_o love_n of_o god_n and_o the_o salvation_n of_o our_o soul_n hereupon_o it_o may_v be_v thus_o reply_v the_o second_o question_n if_o i_o can_v obtain_v the_o pardon_n of_o my_o sin_n and_o the_o favour_n of_o god_n without_o faith_n in_o christ_n i_o doubt_v my_o condition_n be_v woeful_a and_o that_o i_o be_o yet_o in_o my_o sin_n and_o liable_a unto_o wrath_n for_o i_o fear_v that_o i_o have_v not_o this_o faith_n in_o christ_n and_o that_o i_o do_v not_o as_o yet_o believe_v in_o he_o show_v i_o therefore_o i_o pray_v you_o how_o i_o may_v be_v comfort_v against_o this_o fear_n and_o how_o i_o may_v know_v whether_o i_o do_v believe_v in_o the_o word_n for_o that_o be_v able_a to_o build_v we_o up_o and_o to_o give_v we_o a_o inheritance_n among_o they_o that_o be_v sanctify_v act_v 20.32_o and_o last_o we_o must_v pray_v without_o through_o jesus_n christ._n now_o to_o the_o end_n that_o we_o may_v be_v the_o better_o comfort_v against_o all_o cross_n let_v we_o make_v use_n of_o these_o few_o consideration_n follow_v 1._o consider_v that_o it_o be_v no_o new_a or_o strange_a thing_n to_o be_v exercise_v with_o affliction_n neither_o be_v cross_n and_o trouble_v of_o themselves_o a_o argument_n of_o god_n hatred_n but_o rather_o a_o token_n of_o his_o love_n and_o a_o witness_n of_o our_o adoption_n if_o we_o bear_v they_o patient_o and_o make_v good_a use_n of_o they_o there_o be_v not_o any_o affliction_n
