we_o see_v by_o experience_n be_v execute_v on_o all_o mankind_n and_o as_o the_o individual_n multiply_v from_o the_o first_o condemn_v root_n so_o do_v the_o guilt_n and_o the_o sentence_a punishment_n adhere_v to_o each_o individual_a and_o in_o the_o same_o relation_n be_v the_o promise_n of_o a_o redeemer_n make_v to_o he_o as_o it_o be_v not_o adam_n only_o but_o all_o mankind_n that_o be_v mean_v by_o god_n sentence_n dust_n thou_o be_v and_o to_o dust_n thou_o shall_v return_v etc._n etc._n yet_o only_o adam_n as_o then_o personal_o existent_a and_o condemn_v and_o all_o other_o as_o seminal_o in_o he_o and_o the_o sentence_n make_v its_o first_o seizure_n on_o their_o person_n when_o their_o person_n shall_v first_o exist_v and_o not_o before_o even_o so_o be_v it_o by_o the_o guilt_n as_o it_o be_v by_o the_o sentence_n it_o be_v only_a adam_n person_n that_o be_v at_o first_o guilty_a but_o not_o only_o as_o a_o particular_a private_a person_n but_o as_o mankind_n and_o as_o the_o root_n of_o all_o that_o shall_v succeed_v and_o therefore_o we_o be_v seminal_o guilty_a in_o he_o and_o be_v personal_o guilty_a from_o he_o when_o we_o first_o personal_o exist_v 2._o and_o as_o we_o be_v thus_o guilty_a as_o member_n of_o sinful_a mankind_n so_o also_o as_o member_n of_o sinful_a family_n and_o in_o that_o respect_n may_v for_o the_o sin_n of_o our_o near_a parent_n lie_v under_o family_n punishment_n 3._o so_o be_v we_o also_o as_o member_n of_o wicked_a commonwealth_n and_o particular_a subordinate_a society_n in_o those_o commonwealth_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v so_o common_a for_o god_n to_o punish_v man_n for_o common_a abomination_n and_o provoke_a enormity_n which_o yet_o themselves_o do_v not_o commit_v 4._o the_o like_a may_v be_v say_v of_o heretical_a impure_a and_o scandalous_a church_n who_o member_n become_v liable_a to_o church-punishment_n as_o those_o aforesaid_a to_o common-wealth-punishment_n prop._n 19_o it_o be_v one_o thing_n to_o be_v so_o far_o guilty_a or_o to_o deserve_v punishment_n as_o that_o god_n may_v in_o the_o execution_n of_o vindictive_a justice_n lay_v it_o on_o we_o as_o our_o due_n unless_o remedy_v and_o it_o be_v another_o thing_n to_o be_v so_o far_o guilty_a as_o that_o god_n must_v punish_v we_o or_o else_o be_v unjust_a or_o not_o attain_v the_o end_n of_o right_a government_n by_o ordinary_a mean_n it_o be_v the_o first_o guilt_n only_o which_o i_o say_v arise_v from_o the_o sin_n of_o our_o parent_n to_o we_o the_o second_o i_o neither_o affirm_v nor_o deny_v as_o not_o intend_v now_o to_o meddle_v with_o that_o controversy_n prop._n 20._o though_o according_a to_o the_o strict_a rigour_n of_o the_o law_n of_o nature_n or_o work_n consider_v alone_o god_n may_v for_o the_o sin_n of_o adam_n or_o our_o near_a parent_n adjudge_v we_o to_o everlasting_a death_n as_o our_o due_n because_o of_o our_o forementioned_a participation_n therein_o yet_o have_v he_o provide_v such_o a_o remedy_n in_o the_o gospel_n that_o no_o man_n shall_v everlasting_o perish_v for_o any_o such_o sin_n who_o be_v make_v partaker_n of_o that_o remedy_n and_o therefore_o though_o the_o gospel_n find_v man_n under_o such_o a_o guilt_n by_o nature_n yet_o do_v it_o not_o bind_v it_o on_o they_o but_o free_v they_o from_o it_o if_o they_o be_v in_o christ_n therefore_o when_o god_n tell_v man_n that_o if_o they_o repent_v and_o believe_v it_o be_v not_o their_o father_n sin_n that_o shall_v damn_v they_o yet_o bid_v they_o take_v heed_n lest_o they_o perish_v by_o their_o own_o of_o his_o eat_v the_o forbid_a fruit_n if_o we_o be_v guilty_a only_o of_o his_o first_o sin_n for_o that_o be_v not_o the_o first_o his_o unbelief_n of_o god_n and_o believe_v the_o serpent_n and_o other_o more_o do_v go_v before_o it_o 3._o yea_o the_o sin_n that_o adam_n commit_v after_o the_o promise_n do_v in_o their_o nature_n deserve_v our_o suffering_n as_o much_o as_o the_o first_o with_o adam_n as_o the_o root_n of_o mankind_n but_o not_o in_o his_o late_a sin_n i_o must_v expect_v till_o they_o bring_v some_o proof_n of_o such_o a_o will_n of_o god_n or_o such_o a_o law_n and_o still_o say_v that_o the_o will_n and_o law_n of_o god_n do_v not_o make_v sinner_n of_o innocent_a man_n nor_o make_v sinner_n no_o sinner_n any_o otherwise_o than_o by_o pardon_v and_o sanctify_v they_o so_o that_o 〈◊〉_d be_v as_o much_o in_o adam_n after_o the_o promise_n as_o before_o and_o his_o sin_n be_v of_o the_o same_o demerit_n natural_o and_o therefore_o we_o be_v as_o well_o guilty_a of_o that_o as_o of_o the_o first_o and_o then_o for_o the_o consequent_a it_o be_v acknowledge_v by_o most_o of_o those_o who_o we_o now_o oppose_v that_o we_o be_v equal_o relate_v another_o shall_v have_v power_n to_o make_v we_o so_o miserable_a sin_n be_v common_o call_v the_o punishment_n of_o sin_n arg._n 5._o if_o god_n may_v without_o any_o injustice_n bring_v death_n both_o temporal_a and_o eternal_a on_o the_o son_n of_o a_o sinner_n without_o intend_v it_o as_o a_o punishment_n to_o the_o son_n for_o the_o father_n sin_n then_o may_v he_o also_o without_o injustice_n nay_o in_a justice_n inflict_v the_o same_o death_n as_o a_o penalty_n for_o the_o father_n sin_n but_o the_o antecedent_n be_v true_a as_o i_o prove_v thus_o 1._o that_o which_o all_o ruler_n may_v do_v without_o injustice_n that_o god_n may_v do_v without_o injustice_n but_o all_o ruler_n may_v without_o injustice_n deprive_v the_o child_n of_o a_o traitor_n or_o other_o offender_n of_o those_o enjoyment_n which_o the_o father_n have_v forfeit_v himself_o and_o which_o be_v to_o have_v be_v convey_v from_o the_o father_n to_o the_o child_n if_o the_o father_n have_v not_o forfeit_v they_o if_o a_o traitor_n forfeit_v his_o land_n and_o honour_n his_o son_n be_v just_o deprive_v of_o they_o though_o the_o prince_n intend_v it_o not_o as_o a_o punishment_n to_o the_o son_n because_o the_o father_n can_v convey_v to_o his_o son_n that_o which_o he_o have_v not_o himself_o as_o have_v lose_v it_o on_o his_o forfeiture_n and_o the_o son_n have_v no_o right_a to_o it_o when_o the_o father_n right_o be_v go_v so_o if_o a_o wicked_a man_n do_v forfeit_v his_o right_n to_o all_o blessing_n in_o this_o life_n or_o that_o to_o come_v he_o can_v convey_v a_o right_n to_o his_o son_n which_o he_o have_v not_o himself_o and_o what_o other_o way_n shall_v that_o son_n have_v such_o a_o right_n unless_o god_n shall_v give_v it_o he_o which_o he_o be_v or_o be_v free_a to_o do_v or_o not_o it_o be_v true_a that_o god_n by_o a_o new_a covenant_n have_v give_v this_o everlasting_a life_n to_o believer_n but_o that_o be_v not_o to_o all_o nor_o do_v that_o deny_v they_o to_o be_v guilty_a of_o their_o parent_n sin_v before_o nor_o yet_o that_o it_o deserve_v death_n still_o as_o to_o its_o nature_n and_o may_v bring_v it_o be_v it_o not_o pardon_v 2._o wrong_n that_o we_o shall_v suffer_v if_o he_o punish_v we_o thus_o by_o deprivation_n for_o our_o parent_n sin_n for_o if_o it_o be_v no_o cruelty_n to_o do_v the_o same_o thing_n upon_o the_o mere_a occasion_n of_o their_o sin_n which_o be_v unquestionable_a than_o it_o be_v no_o cruelty_n to_o do_v it_o in_o respect_n to_o their_o sin_n as_o the_o deserve_a cause_n 2._o and_o for_o the_o point_n of_o justice_n as_o it_o be_v already_o prove_v to_o be_v non_fw-la injustum_fw-la so_o it_o may_v be_v prove_v to_o be_v justum_fw-la thus_o where_o there_o be_v a_o real_a participation_n in_o the_o inflict_v suffering_n on_o the_o beast_n for_o man_n sin_n without_o any_o cause_n on_o their_o part_n go_v he_o may_v do_v so_o by_o infant_n answ_n 1._o god_n be_v not_o the_o rector_n of_o beast_n in_o a_o moral_a proper_a sense_n but_o only_o in_o a_o natural_a improper_a sense_n as_o a_o pilot_n rule_v a_o ship_n or_o a_o herdsman_n cattle_n and_o therefore_o he_o have_v make_v no_o law_n
