upon_o this_o day_n that_o solemn_a and_o public_a worship_n which_o the_o church_n prescribe_v beside_o to_o observe_v this_o commandment_n with_o perfection_n we_o be_v to_o employ_v the_o whole_a sell_v in_o they_o etc._n etc._n and_o she_o do_v also_o allow_v some_o servile_a work_n which_o be_v daily_o necessary_a for_o the_o subsistence_n and_o entertainment_n of_o man_n as_o most_o household_a business_n be_v 36._o be_v it_o never_o lawful_a upon_o our_o lord_n his_o day_n to_o do_v such_o servile_a work_n as_o the_o church_n forbid_v yes_o when_o the_o not_o do_v they_o may_v be_v a_o cause_n of_o any_o notable_a harm_n as_o the_o take_n in_o of_o harvest_n when_o there_o be_v danger_n that_o it_o may_v be_v spoil_v with_o ill_a weather_n as_o also_o the_o shoo_a of_o a_o also_o be_v excuse_v in_o some_o case_n from_o hear_v mass_n on_o festival_n day_n yes_o when_o he_o can_v go_v to_o church_n without_o danger_n of_o some_o notable_a hurt_n to_o himself_o or_o to_o his_o neighbour_n or_o if_o he_o have_v some_o lawful_a impediment_n as_o for_o example_n if_o a_o man_n have_v undertake_v a_o voyage_n for_o a_o business_n of_o great_a importance_n either_o for_o himself_o or_o his_o neighbour_n and_o shall_v be_v hinder_v by_o hear_v mass_n from_o perform_v his_o voyage_n in_o due_a time_n commandment_n iu._n 39_o declare_v the_o four_o honour_n thy_o child_n bind_v to_o give_v they_o they_o be_v bind_v to_o assist_v they_o not_o only_o by_o their_o industry_n but_o also_o with_o their_o good_n and_o mean_n if_o they_o have_v any_o of_o their_o own_o for_o it_o be_v reason_n that_o those_o that_o have_v give_v we_o our_o be_v shall_v receive_v from_o we_o all_o that_o which_o may_v contribute_v to_o the_o conservation_n of_o their_o be_v and_o the_o obligation_n be_v so_o great_a that_o if_o one_o shall_v see_v his_o father_n and_o his_o son_n in_o imminent_a danger_n and_o be_v not_o able_a to_o help_v both_o he_o be_v bind_v to_o as_o they_o likewise_o do_v owe_v a_o particular_a love_n to_o their_o inferior_n of_o each_o kind_n respective_o 45._o how_o do_v child_n transgress_v against_o this_o precept_n first_o all_o those_o their_o good_n to_o any_o other_o though_o it_o be_v to_o the_o church_n in_o case_n that_o thereby_o they_o deprive_v their_o child_n of_o that_o portion_n which_o be_v reasonable_o due_a unto_o of_o discourse_n do_v cause_n a_o confusion_n and_o distaste_n in_o he_o who_o find_v himself_o laugh_v at_o despise_v or_o ill_o speak_v of_o whereupon_o proceed_v oftentimes_o enmity_n and_o aversion_n from_o one_o another_o and_o a_o breach_n of_o mutual_a correspondence_n and_o fraternal_a charity_n five_o all_o those_o offend_v against_o this_o precept_n who_o do_v not_o carry_v to_o each_o other_o a_o due_a respect_n where_o it_o be_v to_o be_v note_v that_o many_o yea_o sometime_o man_n and_o wife_n make_v little_a scruple_n when_o they_o have_v upbraid_v one_o another_o with_o all_o sort_n of_o contumely_n and_o vent_v their_o whole_a choler_n but_o esteem_v they_o as_o word_n speak_v in_o the_o air_n because_o no_o other_o harm_n follow_v out_o of_o they_o not_o consider_v that_o god_n be_v more_o offend_v with_o the_o malice_n of_o the_o heart_n from_o whence_o such_o injury_n proceed_v then_o with_o the_o effect_n that_o follow_v out_o of_o they_o and_o therefore_o sin_n yes_o there_o be_v also_o original_a sin_n which_o be_v that_o wherewith_o we_o be_v all_o bear_v and_o which_o come_v to_o we_o by_o inheritance_n from_o our_o first_o parent_n adam_n and_o eue._n but_o we_o be_v free_v from_o this_o sin_n by_o baptism_n when_o we_o first_o receive_v grace_n and_o it_o never_o return_v more_o 5._o how_o many_o sort_n be_v there_o of_o actual_a sin_n two_o general_a one_o mortal_a and_o venial_a 6._o how_o can_v any_o sin_n be_v venial_a since_o that_o all_o sin_n be_v the_o neglect_n of_o our_o duty_n towards_o god_n and_o he_o who_o neglect_v his_o duty_n forbear_v to_o love_v and_o so_o lose_v charity_n which_o loss_n as_o you_o say_v be_v the_o death_n of_o our_o soul_n you_o must_v know_v that_o though_o we_o can_v loose_v charity_n but_o by_o neglect_v our_o duty_n yet_o all_o neglect_n of_o duty_n lose_v not_o charity_n for_o love_n or_o charity_n be_v of_o its_o own_o nature_n mutual_a and_o therefore_o we_o can_v loose_v it_o but_o that_o we_o must_v loose_v also_o our_o friend_n his_o love_n towards_o we_o so_o that_o we_o do_v not_o loose_a charity_n by_o any_o other_o neglect_n but_o such_o as_o break_v the_o mutual_a bond_n of_o love_n if_o then_o not_o every_o thing_n as_o the_o take_n of_o a_o pin_n be_v a_o sufficient_a cause_n for_o our_o neighbour_n to_o fall_v out_o with_o we_o we_o lose_v not_o out_o love_v towards_o he_o for_o take_v a_o pin_n from_o he_o but_o we_o lose_v it_o by_o those_o act_n only_o which_o be_v a_o sufficient_a cause_n for_o ordinary_a wise_a man_n to_o break_v of_o conversation_n and_o friendship_n with_o we_o and_o not_o by_o what_o be_v less_o than_o that_o and_o the_o same_o may_v be_v say_v of_o the_o duty_n which_o we_o owe_v to_o ourselves_o or_o to_o almighty_a god_n for_o whereas_o man_n owe_v certain_a duty_n to_o himself_o the_o neglect_n of_o they_o may_v come_v to_o be_v such_o as_o if_o another_o man_n shall_v do_v it_o unto_o you_o you_o will_v have_v just_a cause_n to_o fall_v out_o with_o he_o and_o so_o though_o you_o do_v not_o fall_v out_o with_o yourself_o for_o the_o like_a occasion_n yet_o it_o be_v not_o for_o want_v of_o cause_n again_o it_o may_v be_v also_o so_o little_a a_o neglect_n as_o that_o it_o will_v be_v unreasonable_a for_o you_o to_o fall_v out_o with_o he_o now_o this_o second_o neglect_n of_o your_o duty_n towards_o yourself_o be_v only_o a_o venial_a sin_n whereas_o the_o former_a be_v mortal_a and_o the_o same_o be_v to_o be_v say_v of_o misrespect_n towards_o god_n for_o if_o it_o be_v such_o as_o do_v to_o one_o to_o who_o we_o owe_v all_o that_o we_o be_v shall_v according_a to_o the_o rule_n and_o decree_n of_o his_o justice_n give_v he_o a_o occasion_n to_o break_v of_o friendship_n with_o we_o it_o be_v a_o mortal_a sin_n if_o not_o a_o venial_a 7._o why_o be_v these_o two_o kind_n of_o sin_n so_o call_v one_o mortal_a the_o other_o venial_a because_o by_o the_o one_o we_o break_v friendship_n with_o god_n and_o so_o we_o be_v deprive_v of_o his_o grace_n and_o become_v guilty_a of_o eternal_a damnation_n and_o spiritual_o dead_a for_o charity_n or_o the_o love_n of_o god_n be_v our_o spiritual_a life_n and_o for_o this_o reason_n it_o be_v call_v mortal_a by_o the_o other_o we_o make_v no_o breach_n of_o friendship_n nor_o loose_a god_n his_o grace_n or_o charity_n by_o they_o and_o so_o because_o they_o be_v such_o of_o their_o own_o nature_n as_o that_o their_o pardon_n may_v be_v easy_o obtain_v by_o the_o work_n of_o grace_n which_o still_o remain_v in_o we_o they_o be_v call_v venial_a 8._o what_o then_o be_v mortal_a sin_n it_o be_v a_o wilful_a and_o wit_v transgression_n in_o a_o matter_n of_o weight_n against_o a_o know_a commandment_n of_o god_n of_o the_o church_n or_o of_o some_o lawful_a superior_a where_o any_o of_o these_o three_o condition_n be_v want_v it_o be_v at_o most_o but_o a_o venial_a sin_n as_o first_o if_o it_o be_v not_o against_o a_o know_a commandment_n second_o if_o it_o be_v not_o in_o a_o matter_n of_o weight_n three_o if_o it_o be_v not_o do_v with_o perfect_a consent_n and_o deliberation_n 9_o how_o many_o sort_n of_o venial_a sin_n be_v there_o there_o be_v three_o for_o some_o be_v such_o because_o the_o kind_n or_o object_n of_o they_o be_v of_o its_o own_o nature_n of_o small_a consideration_n and_o general_o slight_o respect_v by_o man_n other_o be_v such_o because_o they_o be_v slight_a by_o reason_n of_o the_o smallnesse_n of_o the_o matter_n though_o the_o deformity_n of_o the_o object_n be_v of_o a_o kind_n in_o its_o own_o nature_n considerable_a other_o again_o be_v such_o because_o they_o be_v perform_v by_o oversight_n or_o without_o deliberation_n for_o if_o one_o shall_v kill_v a_o man_n by_o chance_n his_o sin_n may_v be_v but_o venial_a or_o none_o at_o all_o and_o yet_o if_o afterward_o when_o he_o do_v reflect_v upon_o it_o he_o shall_v be_v please_v with_o the_o harm_n he_o have_v do_v this_o complaisance_n will_v be_v a_o mortal_a crime_n though_o the_o act_n itself_o be_v only_o venial_a or_o no_o sin_n at_o all_o 10._o how_o many_o way_n be_v a_o venial_a sin_n make_v
