to_o christ_n when_o as_o it_o receive_v no_o virtue_n from_o he_o answ_n 1._o if_o a_o member_n of_o a_o natural_a body_n may_v do_v so_o why_o not_o a_o member_n of_o the_o mystical_a body_n that_o a_o member_n of_o a_o natural_a body_n may_v do_v so_o be_v evident_a by_o those_o who_o have_v a_o hand_n arm_n foot_n leg_n or_o any_o other_o member_n take_v with_o a_o dead_a palsy_n they_o be_v sometime_o so_o take_v as_o those_o part_n receive_v no_o manner_n of_o sense_n or_o any_o vigour_n or_o life_n from_o head_n or_o heart_n at_o all_o and_o yet_o remain_v true_a member_n of_o that_o body_n 2._o the_o very_a dead_a body_n consume_v with_o worm_n or_o otherwise_o do_v receive_v a_o great_a present_a benefit_n from_o their_o union_n with_o christ_n for_o by_o virtue_n thereof_o there_o be_v a_o substance_n preserve_v and_o they_o be_v keep_v from_o destruction_n there_o be_v nothing_o destroy_v in_o the_o saint_n by_o death_n but_o that_o which_o if_o it_o be_v not_o destroy_v will_v make_v they_o most_o miserable_a namely_o sin_n that_o be_v utter_o total_o final_o destroy_v in_o they_o and_o all_o the_o concomitance_n thereof_o which_o be_v all_o manner_n of_o infirmity_n but_o the_o rot_a of_o the_o body_n be_v but_o as_o the_o rot_a of_o corn_n in_o the_o earth_n 36._o that_o it_o may_v arise_v a_o more_o glorious_a body_n the_o metaphor_n of_o sleep_n outward_a part_n and_o member_n of_o your_o body_n do_v they_o desire_v to_o be_v above_o the_o head_n be_v they_o loath_a to_o be_v subject_a unto_o the_o head_n let_v your_o soul_n then_o learn_v there_o be_v no_o equality_n betwixt_o they_o so_o then_o a_o husband_n resemble_v not_o only_o the_o head_n of_o a_o natural_a body_n but_o also_o the_o glorious_a image_n of_o christ_n and_o be_v that_o to_o his_o wife_n which_o christ_n be_v to_o his_o church_n to_o apply_v this_o point_n mark_v how_o from_o it_o two_o position_n worthy_a to_o be_v note_v do_v arise_v 1._o subjection_n be_v due_a to_o a_o husband_n as_o well_o as_o to_o christ_n christ_n i_o say_v not_o as_o great_a because_o of_o the_o difference_n in_o glory_n but_o as_o well_o because_o of_o the_o likeness_n in_o office_n a_o constable_n though_o a_o poor_a mean_a man_n must_v be_v obey_v as_o well_o as_o a_o high_a sheriff_n a_o beggar_n child_n must_v obey_v his_o father_n as_o well_o as_o a_o king_n child_n such_o wife_n therefore_o who_o be_v not_o subject_a wrong_v their_o husband_n as_o well_o as_o they_o wrong_v christ_n who_o be_v not_o subject_a to_o he_o 2._o they_o who_o by_o their_o subjection_n maintain_v the_o honour_n of_o their_o husband_n place_n maintain_v thereby_o the_o honour_n of_o christ_n place_n and_o again_o by_o the_o rule_n of_o contrary_n they_o who_o by_o refuse_v to_o be_v subject_n impeach_v the_o honour_n of_o their_o husband_n place_n impeach_v thereby_o the_o honour_n of_o christ_n place_n the_o obedience_n of_o a_o poor_a man_n child_n or_o servant_n justify_v
