imply_v the_o active_a now_o we_o come_v to_o the_o use_v of_o the_o point_n use_v 1_o to_o abase_v and_o great_o to_o humble_v we_o our_o nature_n and_o life_n be_v â—o_o stain_v and_o defile_v as_o nothing_o can_v be_v a_o cover_n unto_o they_o but_o the_o righteousness_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n the_o righteousness_n of_o all_o man_n and_o angel_n be_v insufficient_a this_o way_n to_o wit_n to_o hide_v the_o filthiness_n of_o our_o nature_n and_o life_n from_o the_o eye_n of_o god_n justice_n oh_o the_o cause_n we_o have_v to_o lament_v the_o impurity_n of_o our_o nature_n and_o life_n when_o nothing_o can_v be_v a_o remedy_n for_o we_o but_o the_o son_n of_o god_n must_v assume_v our_o nature_n and_o here_o in_o the_o world_n work_v righteousness_n for_o we_o this_o consideration_n shall_v not_o a_o little_a humble_v we_o but_o likewise_o work_v in_o we_o a_o great_a dislike_n and_o loathe_n of_o sin_n and_o of_o ourselves_o for_o sin_n use_v 2_o to_o inform_v we_o touch_v the_o goodness_n of_o god_n unto_o we_o we_o in_o adam_n loin_n have_v undo_v ourselves_o and_o lose_v all_o righteousness_n that_o the_o lord_n shall_v provide_v we_o a_o saviour_n not_o only_o to_o merit_v for_o we_o remission_n of_o sin_n and_o freedom_n from_o punishment_n by_o his_o passive_a obedience_n but_o likewise_o perfect_a righteousness_n and_o eternal_a salvation_n by_o his_o active_a so_o as_o let_v the_o justice_n of_o god_n be_v object_v any_o way_n to_o the_o true_a believer_n he_o have_v sufficient_a answer_n in_o his_o pledge_n and_o surety_n the_o lord_n jesus_n and_o hence_o it_o be_v that_o the_o apostle_n say_v rom._n 10.4_o christ_n be_v the_o end_n of_o the_o law_n for_o righteousness_n to_o every_o one_o that_o believe_v if_o the_o law_n and_o justice_n of_o god_n require_v punishment_n for_o sin_n and_o disobedience_n the_o believer_n have_v the_o death_n and_o passion_n of_o christ_n to_o interpose_v if_o the_o law_n and_o justice_n of_o god_n require_v perfect_a righteousness_n to_o be_v justify_v in_o god_n fight_n and_o to_o enter_v heaven_n the_o true_a believer_n may_v have_v present_a recourse_n to_o the_o holy_a nature_n and_o life_n of_o christ_n as_o his_o cover_n and_o righteousness_n so_o as_o whatsoever_o the_o true_a believer_n shall_v be_v shall_v do_v shall_v suffer_v christ_n be_v do_v and_o suffer_v and_o may_v not_o this_o great_o comfort_v the_o true_a believer_n that_o the_o lord_n have_v provide_v such_o a_o saviour_n and_o further_o that_o his_o righteousness_n whereby_o he_o be_v justify_v in_o god_n sight_n and_o must_v enter_v heaven_n be_v not_o in_o his_o own_o keep_n as_o his_o first_o righteousness_n in_o adam_n be_v which_o be_v quick_o lose_v but_o in_o the_o keep_n of_o the_o lord_n jesus_n and_o so_o can_v be_v lose_v the_o believer_n may_v lose_v this_o and_o that_o outward_a thing_n which_o for_o the_o present_a he_o enjoy_v or_o
