the_o message_n send_v from_o heaven_n by_o the_o son_n of_o god_n touch_v all_o thing_n to_o be_v believe_v and_o to_o be_v do_v by_o the_o child_n of_o man_n in_o order_n to_o their_o redemption_n and_o attain_n of_o everlasting_a happiness_n and_o this_o be_v necessary_a because_o the_o world_n be_v full_a of_o darkness_n and_o ignorance_n and_o many_o thing_n that_o be_v now_o necessary_a for_o man_n to_o know_v be_v but_o dark_o reveal_v unto_o the_o former_a age_n of_o the_o world._n the_o son_n of_o god_n therefore_o come_v to_o bring_v life_n and_o immortality_n to_o light_n by_o the_o gospel_n 17._o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o gospel_n which_o christ_n bring_v with_o he_o into_o the_o world_n be_v principal_o these_o 1._o that_o all_o man_n have_v immortal_a soul_n which_o strict_a rule_n of_o divine_a justice_n the_o wage_n of_o every_o sin_n be_v everlasting_a death_n and_o misery_n which_o be_v full_o describe_v in_o the_o gospel_n 5._o that_o all_o mankind_n be_v obnoxious_a to_o everlasting_a death_n and_o misery_n because_o all_o mankind_n have_v sin_v and_o be_v bear_v in_o sin._n so_o that_o without_o the_o help_n of_o mercy_n from_o god_n all_o mankind_n be_v in_o a_o lose_a and_o desperate_a condition_n 6._o that_o yet_o for_o all_o this_o almighty_a god_n be_v willing_a that_o his_o creature_n shall_v be_v reconcile_v to_o he_o be_v desirous_a to_o pardon_v his_o sin_n to_o be_v at_o peace_n with_o he_o and_o everlasting_o to_o save_v he_o and_o to_o restore_v unto_o he_o that_o everlasting_a happiness_n that_o he_o have_v lose_v by_o his_o own_o sin_n and_o the_o sin_n of_o our_o first_o parent_n 7._o but_o yet_o that_o all_o this_o shall_v be_v do_v in_o such_o a_o way_n as_o may_v be_v consistent_a with_o the_o honour_n of_o his_o justice_n and_o of_o his_o government_n as_o well_o as_o of_o his_o mercy_n and_o of_o his_o bounty_n and_o therefore_o that_o he_o will_v have_v a_o sacrifice_n and_o a_o price_n
inconsistent_a with_o his_o simplicity_n so_o that_o his_o essence_n be_v his_o goodness_n and_o his_o goodness_n the_o same_o with_o his_o essence_n which_o be_v also_o to_o be_v observe_v in_o all_o his_o attribute_n though_o our_o understanding_n can_v apprehend_v this_o indivisible_a be_v all_o at_o once_o but_o step_v by_o step_n and_o from_o hence_o it_o follow_v that_o whatsoever_o may_v be_v affirm_v concern_v his_o essence_n may_v be_v likewise_o affirm_v concern_v his_o goodness_n viz._n 1._o that_o it_o be_v infinite_a for_o so_o be_v his_o essence_n the_o essential_a goodness_n of_o a_o infinite_a be_v must_v needs_o be_v infinite_a and_o hence_o it_o be_v not_o capable_a of_o any_o increase_n or_o diminution_n and_o therefore_o the_o production_n of_o the_o effect_n and_o the_o communication_n of_o his_o goodness_n to_o they_o do_v neither_o add_v unto_o nor_o take_v from_o his_o goodness_n 2._o that_o it_o be_v perfect_a for_o that_o which_o be_v infinite_a must_v needs_o be_v perfect_a because_o it_o exclude_v any_o mixture_n of_o any_o thing_n that_o be_v not_o good_a 3._o that_o it_o be_v eternal_a that_o be_v evident_a for_o it_o be_v the_o same_o with_o his_o eternal_a be_v now_o from_o this_o consideration_n of_o the_o goodness_n of_o the_o first_o be_v arise_v these_o conclusion_n 1._o that_o he_o be_v perfect_o and_o self-sufficient_o happy_a because_o in_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o himself_o he_o enjoy_v a_o infinite_a goodness_n which_o be_v the_o same_o with_o his_o be_v and_o impossible_a to_o be_v sever_v from_o it_o good_a be_v of_o its_o own_o nature_n the_o object_n of_o desire_n the_o desire_n and_o the_o object_n be_v sever_v breed_v pain_n and_o unhappiness_n the_o conjunction_n of_o good_a to_o the_o desire_n be_v fruition_n and_o if_o the_o good_a be_v proportionable_a to_o the_o desire_n of_o it_o then_o in_o the_o union_n of_o that_o good_a to_o the_o desire_n there_o be_v a_o full_a rest_n and_o complacency_n now_o the_o first_o cause_n be_v move_v with_o a_o infinite_a love_n as_o i_o may_v with_o fear_n say_v to_o that_o infinite_a good_a which_o be_v most_o essential_o and_o indivisible_o the_o same_o with_o himself_o and_o consequent_o he_o have_v a_o infinite_a rest_n and_o complacency_n in_o himself_o and_o that_o without_o the_o contribution_n of_o any_o thing_n without_o he_o for_o he_o have_v the_o same_o boundless_a happiness_n in_o himself_o before_o the_o existence_n of_o any_o effect_n as_o he_o have_v after_o because_o he_o have_v the_o same_o measure_n of_o goodness_n and_o the_o same_o perfect_a fruition_n of_o it_o before_o any_o such_o production_n as_o after_o the_o production_n of_o new_a effect_n be_v the_o emanation_n only_o of_o his_o essence_n and_o produce_v no_o alteration_n in_o he_o neither_o do_v it_o dilate_v his_o essential_a goodness_n or_o add_v a_o new_a degree_n of_o fruition_n of_o good_a to_o what_o he_o before_o have_v for_o he_o love_v the_o production_n of_o his_o will_n in_o himself_o and_o for_o himself_o 2._o that_o the_o first_o be_v as_o it_o be_v the_o first_o cause_n of_o all_o thing_n so_o it_o be_v the_o supreme_a end_n of_o all_o thing_n because_o he_o be_v the_o supreme_a good_a and_o the_o only_a adequate_a object_n of_o himself_o so_o that_o in_o the_o production_n of_o any_o effect_n the_o effect_n that_o be_v produce_v or_o any_o thing_n without_o the_o first_o be_v can_v not_o be_v the_o ultimate_a end_n for_o which_o it_o shall_v be_v produce_v for_o his_o will_n be_v and_o be_v fill_v with_o a_o infinite_a good_a viz._n himself_o so_o that_o it_o be_v impossible_a he_o shall_v take_v any_o thing_n into_o that_o will_n which_o be_v not_o in_o order_n to_o himself_o he_o make_v all_o thing_n for_o his_o own_o self_n and_o upon_o this_o ground_n it_o follow_v that_o nothing_o without_o he_o be_v a_o end_n to_o itself_o because_o he_o that_o be_v the_o first_o cause_n of_o all_o thing_n must_v needs_o be_v he_o that_o must_v be_v the_o master_n and_o appointer_n of_o the_o end_n of_o all_o thing_n so_o cause_v 3._o from_o hence_o it_o follow_v that_o all_o the_o goodness_n that_o be_v in_o the_o creature_n be_v nothing_o else_o but_o the_o print_n or_o impression_n of_o that_o goodness_n which_o be_v in_o the_o first_o be_v though_o according_a to_o the_o different_a degree_n of_o thing_n the_o impression_n be_v more_o or_o less_o genuine_a for_o it_o be_v impossible_a that_o any_o thing_n can_v be_v denominate_v good_a but_o by_o a_o conformity_n in_o some_o measure_n to_o that_o which_o be_v the_o first_o goodness_n that_o conformity_n be_v nothing_o else_o but_o that_o impression_n of_o divine_a goodness_n upon_o the_o creature_n this_o impression_n of_o the_o goodness_n of_o the_o first_o cause_n upon_o the_o creature_n be_v not_o by_o any_o transmission_n of_o any_o part_n of_o the_o essential_a goodness_n of_o the_o first_o be_v into_o the_o effect_n for_o that_o be_v incommunicable_a nor_o by_o any_o physical_a action_n of_o that_o goodness_n upon_o another_o thing_n but_o the_o mere_a will_n of_o the_o first_o mover_n now_o we_o find_v a_o fourfold_a goodness_n in_o the_o creature_n 1._o a_o essential_a goodness_n which_o be_v communicate_v with_o the_o very_o be_v of_o it_o thus_o every_o thing_n that_o be_v be_v good_a in_o itself_o though_o relative_o it_o may_v be_v evil_a because_o in_o that_o it_o be_v it_o be_v conformable_a to_o the_o first_o cause_n who_o will_v it_o to_o be_v this_o goodness_n in_o any_o be_v be_v that_o by_o reason_n whereof_o every_o thing_n desire_v itself_o and_o be_v move_v to_o its_o own_o preservation_n and_o be_v intrinsical_v to_o the_o be_v of_o the_o thing_n 2._o a_o intrinsical_a but_o not_o a_o essential_a goodness_n when_o a_o thing_n have_v all_o those_o quality_n or_o requisite_n in_o itself_o which_o be_v suitable_a and_o conducible_a to_o those_o act_n and_o operation_n that_o belong_v to_o the_o degree_n of_o its_o be_v and_o the_o variety_n of_o the_o degree_n in_o these_o quality_n denominate_v it_o more_o or_o less_o good_a thus_o be_v all_o creature_n in_o their_o original_a perfect_o good_a though_o every_o kind_n have_v a_o several_a degree_n of_o perfection_n yet_o every_o thing_n have_v a_o perfection_n in_o its_o kind_n this_o goodness_n be_v likewise_o communicate_v from_o the_o first_o be_v and_o the_o suitableness_n of_o those_o quality_n in_o the_o creature_n to_o the_o exigency_n of_o their_o own_o condition_n do_v most_o evident_o manifest_v the_o impression_n of_o that_o goodness_n that_o be_v in_o the_o first_o be_v 3._o relative_n or_o communicative_a goodness_n viz_o whereby_o one_o thing_n be_v conducible_a or_o useful_a for_o the_o preservation_n or_o perfection_n of_o another_o thing_n and_o be_v therefore_o desirable_a or_o good_a for_o it_o for_o though_o the_o essential_a goodness_n of_o any_o thing_n be_v as_o indivisible_a be_v the_o essence_n itself_o and_o therefore_o in_o that_o abstract_n notion_n be_v not_o capable_a of_o degree_n yet_o there_o be_v degree_n of_o perfection_n which_o a_o finite_a be_v be_v capable_a of_o and_o different_a degree_n of_o perfection_n in_o several_a being_n in_o their_o concrete_a notion_n as_o a_o man_n be_v a_o more_o perfect_a be_v than_o a_o beast_n a_o spirit_n than_o a_o man_n though_o one_o be_v as_o equal_v a_o be_v as_o the_o other_o this_o then_o import_v four_o thing_n 1._o a_o vacuity_n or_o absence_n of_o some_o good_a whereof_o that_o be_v be_v receptible_a and_o consequent_o a_o receptibility_n of_o that_o which_o may_v supply_v it_o 2._o a_o motion_n or_o desire_n of_o that_o be_v that_o have_v this_o vacuity_n and_o receptibility_n unto_o that_o which_o may_v supply_v it_o and_o a_o desire_n of_o union_n to_o it_o this_o it_o have_v from_o the_o cause_n of_o its_o be_v for_o the_o cause_n of_o its_o be_v must_v needs_o be_v the_o cause_n of_o this_o appetite_n or_o motion_n to_o its_o far_a perfection_n and_o this_o be_v sometime_o so_o strong_a and_o active_a that_o it_o carry_v the_o creature_n by_o way_n of_o consequence_n to_o the_o destruction_n of_o that_o be_v which_o at_o present_a it_o have_v to_o attain_v a_o high_a being_n 3._o a_o proportion_n between_o the_o vacuity_n or_o necessity_n of_o the_o subject_n desire_v to_o the_o thing_n desire_v as_o a_o man_n to_o supply_v his_o hunger_n desire_v not_o clothes_n but_o meat_n and_o when_o cold_a desire_v not_o meat_n but_o clothes_n because_o these_o hold_v proportion_n to_o that_o exigence_n that_o the_o creature_n desire_v to_o fill_v and_o hence_o it_o be_v that_o temporal_a good_a satisfy_v not_o a_o spiritual_a substance_n nor_o a_o spiritual_a good_a satisfy_v a_o carnal_a substance_n because_o they_o be_v not_o proportionable_a 4._o a_o activity_n in_o the_o good_a desire_a to_o apply_v itself_o to_o the_o supply_n of_o that_o
observation_n and_o custom_n as_o agree_v to_o the_o common_a reason_n of_o both_o and_o the_o wise_a god_n have_v so_o order_v the_o business_n of_o this_o world_n that_o those_o law_n which_o he_o give_v to_o man_n best_a and_o most_o rational_o conduce_v to_o his_o good_a here_o as_o well_o as_o hereafter_o as_o be_v most_o evident_a in_o the_o precept_n of_o the_o first_o and_o second_o table_n thus_o much_o for_o the_o first_o proposition_n of_o conscience_n 2_o the_o second_o or_o minor_a proposition_n of_o conscience_n be_v the_o state_v of_o what_o i_o have_v do_v whether_o in_o conformity_n or_o violation_n of_o that_o law_n which_o be_v nothing_o but_o a_o reflex_n act_n of_o the_o soul_n look_v into_o the_o intellectual_a memory_n and_o impartial_o state_v what_o i_o have_v do_v and_o by_o this_o a_o man_n may_v see_v that_o the_o divine_a law_n do_v not_o look_v at_o all_o upon_o the_o outward_a act_n as_o the_o violation_n or_o performance_n of_o it_o but_o so_o far_o forth_o only_o as_o it_o be_v a_o effect_n of_o the_o soul_n and_o will._n and_o hence_o it_o be_v that_o the_o judgement_n of_o the_o conscience_n look_v upon_o the_o work_n within_o it_o be_v true_a when_o the_o act_n of_o the_o will_n be_v full_a and_o complete_a it_o be_v testify_v by_o the_o outward_a action_n but_o it_o be_v not_o the_o outward_a action_n that_o make_v the_o violation_n or_o performance_n this_o then_o be_v the_o second_o proposition_n or_o assumption_n this_o or_o that_o i_o have_v do_v or_o omit_v 3._o the_o three_o proposition_n be_v the_o conclusion_n either_o of_o acquittal_n or_o condemnation_n of_o obligation_n to_o that_o gild_n which_o arise_v upon_o the_o breach_n of_o that_o law_n loss_n of_o my_o end_n deformity_n and_o liableness_n to_o the_o curse_n thus_o far_o concern_v the_o understanding_n and_o the_o act_n of_o it_o the_o second_o great_a faculty_n be_v the_o will_n whereby_o the_o soul_n be_v move_v to_o the_o desire_n and_o prosecution_n of_o that_o which_o be_v good._n it_o be_v true_a that_o all_o power_n carry_v with_o they_o a_o natural_a appetite_n or_o motion_n to_o that_o which_o be_v the_o object_n of_o that_o power_n and_o consequent_o come_v under_o the_o name_n and_o notion_n of_o good_a the_o understanding_n natural_o move_v to_o know_v its_o object_n as_o to_o a_o good_a suitable_a to_o that_o power_n the_o sense_n move_v to_o their_o object_n the_o eye_n be_v not_o satisfy_v with_o see_v nor_o the_o ear_n with_o hear_v the_o natural_a appetite_n move_v to_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o such_o a_o good_a as_o may_v fill_v and_o answer_v the_o want_n or_o exigence_n of_o the_o thing_n that_o have_v that_o appetite_n but_o the_o difference_n between_o the_o motion_n of_o the_o will_n and_o other_o faculty_n be_v considerable_a in_o two_o thing_n 1._o in_o the_o object_n general_o the_o object_n of_o the_o will_n be_v good_a and_o this_o distinguish_v it_o from_o the_o understanding_n who_o object_n be_v truth_n so_o that_o though_o the_o same_o thing_n be_v the_o object_n of_o both_o yet_o those_o faculty_n fasten_v upon_o it_o under_o several_a notion_n as_o the_o same_o body_n may_v be_v the_o object_n of_o my_o eye_n as_o colour_v and_o of_o my_o touch_n as_o hard_o and_o though_o good_a and_o goodness_n be_v a_o object_n of_o my_o understanding_n as_o a_o scibile_n whereby_o my_o understanding_n examine_v the_o truth_n the_o nature_n the_o circumstance_n the_o degree_n the_o suitableness_n of_o it_o yet_o it_o be_v a_o object_n of_o my_o will_n as_o appetible_a or_o desirable_a which_o be_v nothing_o else_o but_o the_o motion_n of_o the_o soul_n to_o union_n with_o that_o it_o conclude_v to_o be_v good_a and_o such_o a_o good_a have_v these_o quality_n 1._o it_o must_v be_v â—_o possible_a good_a and_o this_o have_v a_o double_a reason_n 1._o because_o this_o be_v a_o inclination_n put_v into_o the_o soul_n by_o the_o wise_a maker_n of_o the_o soul_n who_o never_o do_v any_o thing_n in_o vain_a and_o therefore_o never_o put_v any_o motion_n in_o any_o thing_n to_o such_o a_o thing_n which_o be_v unattainable_a ex_fw-la natura_fw-la rei_fw-la it_o be_v true_a de_fw-fr facto_fw-la it_o may_v fall_v out_o that_o good_a to_o which_o the_o soul_n be_v move_v may_v not_o be_v attain_v by_o reason_n of_o some_o extrinsical_a intervenience_n and_o yet_o ex_fw-la natura_fw-la rei_fw-la the_o good_a may_v be_v attainable_a 2._o because_o the_o will_n be_v a_o rational_a faculty_n and_o though_o of_o itself_o it_o move_v indeterminate_o to_o all_o good_a yet_o when_o it_o move_v to_o any_o determinate_a object_n it_o move_v upon_o the_o predecision_n of_o the_o rational_a understanding_n now_o it_o be_v a_o mere_a irrational_a act_n to_o move_v and_o impossible_a thing_n that_o it_o shall_v move_v to_o that_o which_o the_o understanding_n do_v not_o in_o some_o sort_n conclude_v possible_a to_o attain_v for_o the_o end_n of_o desire_n be_v union_n to_o the_o thing_n desire_v and_o be_v there_o not_o a_o possibility_n of_o union_n conclude_v in_o the_o understanding_n there_o will_v be_v a_o impossibility_n to_o will_v it_o or_o move_v after_o it_o 2._o it_o must_v be_v a_o suitable_a good_a to_o the_o exigence_n nature_n and_o condition_n of_o the_o subject_a that_o desire_v it_o 1._o to_o the_o exigence_n of_o the_o subject_a and_o this_o be_v evident_a in_o all_o motion_n of_o all_o thing_n they_o move_v to_o that_o which_o be_v apt_a to_o fill_v up_o and_o supply_v that_o vacuity_n which_o be_v in_o the_o thing_n desire_v it_o even_o in_o natural_a as_o well_o as_o rational_a appetite_n the_o hungry_a man_n his_o appetite_n be_v not_o for_o clothes_n but_o food_n 2._o according_a to_o the_o condition_n of_o the_o subject_a a_o sensitive_a appetite_n move_v to_o a_o sensitive_a good_a and_o a_o rational_a to_o a_o rational_a good_a and_o a_o immortal_a to_o a_o immortal_a goâ—â—_n and_o although_o man_n consist_v of_o several_a piece_n and_o therefore_o have_v several_a exigence_n and_o condition_n and_o consequent_o move_v to_o several_a end_n answerable_a thereunto_o and_o the_o will_n be_v carry_v to_o those_o end_n yet_o when_o the_o will_n be_v rational_o and_o regular_o move_v it_o move_v to_o the_o inferior_a end_n or_o good_a with_o subordination_n to_o that_o which_o be_v the_o great_a good_a and_o therefore_o rest_v not_o in_o they_o nor_o be_v satisfy_v with_o they_o nay_o though_o by_o reason_n of_o ignorance_n or_o other_o accident_n it_o mistake_v or_o know_v not_o or_o forget_v its_o supreme_a end_n it_o take_v no_o full_a satisfaction_n in_o those_o inferior_a good_n though_o it_o know_v not_o what_o to_o desire_v yet_o in_o all_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o these_o inferior_a desire_n it_o find_v that_o it_o have_v not_o what_o it_o shall_v and_o that_o breed_v discontent_a weariness_n and_o changeable_a pursuit_n of_o empty_a and_o unsatisfy_a pleasure_n and_o profit_n and_o contentment_n now_o the_o will_n be_v carry_v to_o its_o object_n by_o a_o double_a principle_n of_o motion_n 1._o original_a that_o great_a and_o wise_a god_n that_o have_v put_v in_o all_o thing_n inclination_n to_o their_o several_a end_n have_v put_v this_o will_n in_o man_n to_o move_v to_o his_o end_n wherein_o he_o have_v at_o once_o fulfil_v his_o own_o will_n he_o do_v it_o because_o it_o please_v he_o and_o lead_v man_n to_o his_o happiness_n for_o this_o we_o may_v most_o clear_o see_v in_o the_o frame_n of_o all_o thing_n his_o wisdom_n and_o his_o goodness_n be_v idle_a it_o know_v the_o power_n of_o his_o maker_n therefore_o be_v not_o anxious_a and_o know_v the_o use_n and_o value_n of_o the_o creature_n and_o therefore_o value_v it_o no_o far_o than_o it_o consider_v of_o that_o special_a providence_n or_o dispensation_n of_o divine_a counsel_n which_o concern_v man_n and_o that_o not_o mere_o as_o a_o creature_n but_o in_o order_n to_o his_o everlasting_a end._n we_o shall_v consider_v therefore_o the_o course_n of_o this_o providence_n of_o god_n in_o order_n to_o the_o eternal_a end_n of_o man_n under_o those_o three_o condition_n or_o time_n wherein_o we_o find_v man_n before_o the_o fall_n after_o the_o fall_n in_o christ_n concern_v the_o estate_n of_o man_n before_o the_o fall_n or_o sin_n of_o adam_n we_o have_v already_o examine_v certain_a general_n that_o be_v conducible_a to_o this_o point_n viz._n 1._o that_o god_n do_v appoint_v man_n to_o some_o end_n or_o good_a answerable_a to_o the_o constitution_n and_o value_n of_o his_o nature_n and_o this_o be_v his_o happiness_n 2._o that_o this_o good_a must_v therefore_o be_v a_o infinite_a immortal_a intelligible_a good_a otherwise_o it_o can_v not_o be_v be_v for_o his_o use_n and_o sustentation_n the_o air_n the_o water_n the_o fruit_n of_o the_o earth_n most_o exact_o conducible_a to_o the_o perpetuate_n of_o his_o life_n without_o pain_n or_o sickness_n 2._o as_o a_o sensible_a creature_n exquisiteness_n of_o sense_n and_o receptive_a of_o whatsoever_o the_o creature_n can_v afford_v conduce_v to_o his_o use_n or_o delight_n and_o the_o dominion_n over_o they_o a_o most_o pleasant_a garden_n plant_v by_o god_n himself_o for_o his_o habitation_n with_o a_o tree_n of_o immortality_n in_o it_o 3._o as_o a_o rational_a creature_n 1._o a_o most_o just_a and_o sweet_a subordination_n of_o the_o inferior_a faculty_n to_o the_o superior_a the_o sensitive_a appetite_n the_o passion_n and_o motion_n of_o the_o spirit_n 2._o a_o most_o exact_a fitness_n and_o perfection_n of_o those_o organ_n of_o the_o body_n which_o be_v necessary_a for_o the_o operation_n of_o the_o faculty_n of_o the_o soul_n and_o a_o perfect_a and_o just_a union_n of_o the_o body_n and_o soul_n whereby_o the_o soul_n may_v clear_o and_o perfect_o exercise_v all_o her_o faculty_n 3._o which_o be_v the_o height_n of_o all_o the_o rest_n fit_v of_o those_o faculty_n with_o the_o most_o perfect_a and_o suitable_a object_n even_o god_n himself_o for_o all_o faculty_n or_o power_n receive_v their_o perfection_n by_o their_o object_n to_o have_v a_o understanding_n as_o comprehensive_a as_o heaven_n to_o have_v a_o will_n of_o as_o vast_a desire_n as_o infinitude_n itself_o and_o not_o to_o have_v a_o object_n suitable_a to_o either_o be_v a_o great_a unhappiness_n than_o to_o want_v the_o faculty_n in_o the_o creation_n therefore_o god_n fill_v the_o understanding_n with_o the_o sight_n and_o knowledge_n of_o himself_o of_o his_o majesty_n glory_n bounty_n goodness_n with_o the_o knowledge_n of_o his_o will_n and_o mind_n concern_v man_n with_o the_o knowledge_n of_o his_o work_n and_o of_o his_o work_n this_o can_v not_o choose_v but_o work_n in_o the_o mind_n of_o man_n answerable_a return_n to_o the_o nature_n of_o this_o object_n he_o be_v full_o conceive_v to_o be_v the_o high_a and_o most_o supreme_a good_a and_o
that_o the_o very_a consideration_n of_o this_o counsel_n of_o god_n be_v a_o mean_n to_o effect_v its_o execution_n in_o put_v the_o heart_n into_o such_o a_o frame_n as_o be_v fit_a to_o receive_v same_o eternal_a covenant_n the_o righteousness_n and_o obedience_n of_o christ_n be_v to_o be_v accept_v by_o god_n as_o the_o righteousness_n of_o man_n that_o as_o in_o his_o suffering_n he_o do_v bear_v the_o sin_n of_o man_n to_o make_v satisfaction_n for_o the_o curse_v deserve_v so_o by_o his_o obedience_n impute_v unto_o man_n man_n may_v acquire_v that_o happiness_n that_o he_o lose_v to_o the_o end_n that_o this_o satisfaction_n and_o righteousness_n may_v be_v effectual_o apply_v for_o the_o purpose_v abovementioned_a christ_n must_v after_o this_o righteousness_n fulfil_v and_o
