advantage_n thereunto_o promise_v nor_o can_v those_o advantage_n or_o benefit_n be_v any_o reasonable_a motive_n to_o such_o action_n while_o they_o be_v suppose_v to_o contribute_v nothing_o at_o unexpectable_a yet_o may_v the_o same_o sin_n in_o some_o other_o sense_n be_v many_o way_n cover_v viz._n by_o abatement_n of_o the_o degree_n of_o the_o punishment_n which_o be_v not_o whole_o avoidable_a or_o by_o deliverance_n from_o some_o other_o punishment_n which_o may_v be_v add_v in_o this_o life_n and_o that_o which_o be_v to_o come_v or_o by_o sundry_a manner_n and_o measure_n of_o support_n relief_n and_o comfort_n in_o the_o suffer_a or_o by_o other_o way_n whereby_o the_o punishment_n may_v be_v convert_v to_o the_o advantage_n of_o the_o sufferer_n especial_o in_o his_o spiritual_a estate_n which_o advantage_n be_v so_o far_o from_o be_v inconsistent_a with_o the_o nature_n of_o a_o punishment_n that_o they_o be_v ordinary_o design_v as_o the_o main_a end_n of_o it_o both_o by_o god_n and_o man_n as_o in_o all_o castigatory_a punishment_n whence_o god_n be_v say_v to_o chasten_v we_o for_o our_o profit_n heb._n 12.10_o and_o a_o punishment_n cease_v not_o to_o be_v so_o by_o be_v convert_v to_o a_o blessing_n thus_o may_v the_o sin_n of_o a_o charitable_a person_n be_v cover_v without_o any_o absolute_a remission_n or_o exemption_n from_o punishment_n which_o may_v be_v in_o itself_o necessary_a and_o where_o it_o be_v not_o so_o but_o contingent_a at_o the_o will_n and_o providence_n of_o god_n it_o be_v more_o easy_a to_o conceive_v how_o the_o sin_n may_v be_v cover_v by_o suspension_n or_o remission_n of_o punishment_n in_o whole_a or_o in_o part_n here_o a_o question_n may_v be_v move_v viz._n how_o far_o that_o remission_n of_o sin_n which_o be_v signify_v by_o the_o term_n of_o cover_v in_o this_o text_n may_v be_v expect_v to_o extend_v i._o e._n whether_o only_o to_o the_o temporal_a punishment_n which_o a_o sinner_n be_v liable_a to_o in_o this_o life_n or_o to_o that_o also_o which_o be_v to_o come_v in_o another_o world_n towards_o a_o full_a answer_n to_o this_o question_n it_o will_v not_o be_v amiss_o to_o reflect_v upon_o â—he_n word_n of_o the_o apostle_n immediate_o precede_v the_o text_n which_o i_o be_o treat_v upon_o wherein_o i_o conceive_v a_o convenient_a hint_n â—s_v offer_v for_o the_o resolution_n of_o this_o
