seek_v after_o justification_n by_o work_n or_o by_o the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n and_o to_o bring_v they_o to_o seek_v after_o justification_n by_o faith_n and_o his_o argument_n be_v valid_a to_o this_o purpose_n upon_o supposition_n which_o yet_o he_o have_v prove_v to_o be_v a_o most_o certain_a truth_n that_o all_o have_v sin_v for_o if_o all_o man_n have_v sin_v which_o be_v a_o undeniable_a truth_n and_o which_o the_o doctrine_n of_o faith_n teach_v than_o no_o man_n can_v boast_v before_o god_n for_o whosoever_o have_v sin_v have_v need_n of_o the_o grace_n and_o favour_n of_o god_n and_o whosoever_o receive_v any_o thing_n of_o the_o grace_n and_o favour_n of_o god_n can_v boast_v 1_o cor._n 4.7_o now_o if_o thou_o can_v not_o boast_v thou_o seek_v in_o vain_a to_o be_v justify_v by_o the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n for_o no_o man_n can_v be_v justify_v by_o the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n but_o he_o which_o keep_v the_o law_n and_o have_v always_o keep_v it_o in_o be_v some_o who_o though_o they_o be_v convince_v that_o they_o can_v not_o boast_v yet_o do_v seek_v for_o justification_n by_o the_o law_n not_o perceive_v how_o incompatible_a these_o two_o thing_n nay_o but_o by_o the_o law_n of_o faith_n and_o this_o he_o do_v by_o a_o mimesis_n mention_v and_o repeat_v the_o word_n law_n that_o he_o may_v in_o a_o slight_a manner_n imitate_v the_o jew_n who_o do_v crack_v of_o the_o law_n and_o have_v the_o law_n always_o in_o their_o mouth_n though_o they_o keep_v it_o not_o intimate_v thereby_o that_o if_o they_o glory_v in_o the_o word_n law_n he_o can_v say_v that_o they_o which_o be_v justify_v be_v justify_v by_o a_o law_n too_o but_o not_o by_o the_o law_n which_o they_o crack_v of_o to_o wit_n the_o law_n of_o work_n but_o by_o a_o law_n differ_v from_o that_o to_o wit_n the_o law_n of_o faith_n ver._n 28._o we_o conclude_v therefore_o that_o a_o man_n be_v justify_v by_o faith_n this_o conclusion_n the_o apostle_n draw_v not_o from_o the_o verse_n immediate_o go_v before_o but_o from_o his_o whole_a discourse_n which_o he_o have_v have_v from_o the_o 17._o verse_n of_o the_o first_o chapter_n of_o this_o epistle_n hitherto_o and_o due_a to_o such_o a_o one_o for_o his_o work_n by_o a_o contract_n or_o covenant_n of_o work_n which_o god_n make_v with_o adam_n but_o suppose_v that_o god_n have_v make_v such_o a_o covenant_n or_o have_v be_v the_o mere_a grace_n and_o favour_n of_o god_n to_o covenant_n or_o promise_v such_o a_o reward_n to_o such_o a_o man_n for_o his_o work_n nor_o will_v that_o reward_n which_o be_v due_a even_o to_o such_o work_n upon_o this_o account_n be_v due_a to_o they_o of_o merit_n which_o be_v that_o which_o our_o apostle_n mean_v by_o debt_n rom._n 4.4_o etc._n etc._n but_o only_a by_o reason_n of_o that_o gracious_a promise_n or_o covenant_n by_o which_o god_n free_o and_o gracious_o bind_v himself_o to_o reward_v the_o work_n of_o such_o a_o man_n with_o eternal_a glory_n so_o that_o in_o our_o apostle_n language_n the_o reward_n will_v be_v still_o of_o grace_n for_o if_o the_o covenant_n or_o promise_n which_o god_n make_v to_o adam_n of_o reward_v such_o work_n with_o
