WHy in thine anger fierce O Lorâ— thus standest thou afar Why hidest thou thyself from us when times of troubles are verse 2 The wicked in his pride the poor doth persecute greatlie In plots which they imagin'd have let them all taken be verse 3 For of his hearts desire alwayes the wicked man doth boast And blesseth al 's the covetous man whom GOD abhorreth most verse 4 Throgh the pride of his countenant the wicked great or small Will not seek GOD in all his though the LORD is not at all verse 5 His wayes alwayes most grievous aâ— thy judgements where he goes Are far above out of his sight he puffs at all his foes verse 6 He hath said in his foolish heart I shall not moved be For I shall never in this life be in adversitie verse 7 Great cursing and deceit and fraud his wicked mouth do fill Under his tongue mischief alwayes and vanitie are still verse 8 He lurking sits in villages in secret places he Kills th' innocent he'gainst the poor his eyes sets privilie verse 9 Hee in his den lies lion like in waite he lyes secret To catch the poore he him doth catch when drawn into his net verse 10 With great deceit he croucheth down himself he humbleth all That by his strong ones at the last the poor may surely fall verse 11 He foolish hath said in his heart God hath most certainlie Forgotten all he hides his face he will it never see verse 12 Arise O Lord make hast O GOâ— lift up thy mightie hand Forget not in thine anger great the humble of the land verse 13 Wherfore doth wicked man in spiâ— GOD to contemne desire He hath said in his foolish heart thou wilt it not require verse 14 Thou hast it all most clearly seen for thou mischief and spite Beholdest thou it with thy hand in

XXIV THe earth the LORDS is properly yea and its fulnesse all The world likwise and also they that dwell there great or small verse 2 For he it firmely on the seas hath founded with his hand And also hath establish'd it upon the floods to stand verse 3 Who is he that shall of the LORD ascend into the hill And who in his most holy place shall constantly stand still verse 4 He that clean hands hath with puâ— heâ— who unto vanitie Hath not with pride lift up his soul nor sworne deceitfullie verse 5 Assuredly he from the LORD the blessing shall receive And from the GOD that saveth him he righteousnesse shall have verse 6 This is the generation now of them that in each place Him seek O Jacob that alwayes do humbly seek thy face verse 7 Ye gates lift up your heads and ye doores everlasting all Be lifted up and then come in the King of glory shall verse 8 Who is the King of glory great the mighty LORD and strong The Lord who still in battell is with might his foes among verse 9 Ye gates lift up your heads and ye doors everlasting all Be lifted up and then come in the King of glory shall verse 10 Who is this King of glory great the Lord who hath as his Most mighty hosts ev'n surely he the King of glory is PSAL. XXXIII O In the LORD alwayes rejoice ye righteous in his sight For praise is comely for all those that are in heart upright verse 2 Praise ye the Lord now with the harpe with psaltrie to him sing And also with an instrument that hath a tenfold string verse 3 Unto him a new pleasant song sing with your heart and voice Play also now most skilfully with a loud sounding noice verse 4 For the good word of God the Loâ—â— is faithfull still and right And all his glorious workes in truth are done by his great might verse 5 He righteousnesse with all his heaâ—â— and judgement loveth still The goodnesse of the Lord our God the earth doth ever fill verse 6 By the word of the mighty Lorâ— the heav'ns created were And by the breath even of his moâ— their host all every where verse 7 He gathreth waters of the sea together as an heap And as in store houses also he layeth up the deep verse 8 Let all the earth now humbly fear the LORD and keep his law Let all the earths inhabitants still of him stand in aw verse 9 For he spake in his mighty power and it was done at last As he desir'd he did command and it alwayes stood fast verse 10 The Lord to noght the counsel brings which heathen men project The peoples vain devices all he makes of none effect verse 11 The counsell of the Lord doth stand for ever free of fall Yea of his heart the thoughts shal last to generations all verse 12 Blest is the nation whose GOD is the LORD them to advance And people whom he chosen hath for his inheritance verse 13 The Lord from heav'n that is above down looketh with his eye He all the sons of men below most clearly thence doth see verse 14 From of his habitation high the place that doth excell He looketh down on those alwayes that on the earth do dwell verse 15 He fashioneth also all their heaâ—â— alike both great and small Their works al 's whether good or 〈◊〉 he them considreth all verse 16 There is no king whom of an hâ— the multitude can save And by much strength a mighty maâ— can no deliv'rance have verse 17 For mans safety a thing most 〈◊〉 an horse is seen at length Not any he deliver shall by his great power and strength verse 18 Behold the Lords eye ever is upon them that him fear Ev'n on them still that do alwayes hope in his mercy heer verse 19 For to deliver safe their soul even from the jawes of death And al 's to keep them safe alive in famine free of wrath verse 20 Our soul still alwayes for the LORD waits till he comfort send In dangers all he is our help and shield us to defend verse 21 For in him gladly shall our heart rejoice without all blame Because we surely trusted have in his most holy name verse 22 Let thy mercy O gracious LORD upon us ever be According as with all our heart we still do hope in thee PSAL. haste shall sing verse 2 Thou fairer then mens children aâ— grace is now from on hie Powr'd in thy lips therefore the Lorâ— hath blest for ever thee verse 3 O thou that art most mighty now thy sword gird on thy thigh With glory that is thine alwayes and al 's thy Majestie verse 4 For truth meeknesse righteousneâ— ride thou now prosperously And thy right hand theÌ„ shal thee teaâ— things terrible that be verse 5 Thine arrows sharp are in the heart of the kings enmies all Whereby the people under thee with great contempt do fall verse 6 For ever and for ever is O GOD thy throne of might The scepter of thy kingdome all is still a scepter right verse 7 Thou hates ill loves righteousnesâ— therefore God thee in love Annointed hath with oil of joy thy fellows all above verse 8 Of aloes myrrhe and cassia thy robs to smell are made Out of the yvory palaces whereby they made thee glad verse 9 Among thy women honour'd much kings daughters were the queen On thy right hand did richly stand in gold of Ophir fine verse 10 Hear daughter and consider well and al 's incline thine ear Thy people and thy fathers house forget though nev'r so dear verse 11 So shall thy beautie by the king desired greatly be Therefore see that thou worship him for thy great LORD is he verse 12 The daughters al 's of Tyre shall be there with a gift right great The rich among the people all thy favour shall entreat verse 13 The daughter of the king within with beauties manifold Is glorious all her clothing is wrought of the finest gold verse 14 She shall be brought unto the kinâ— in robes of needle work Her Virgins shall be brought to thee her following at the back verse 15 They shal be brought with gladneâ—â— greaâ— and al 's rejoicing all And in the Palace of the King they glorious enter shall verse 16 In stead ev'n of thy fathers dear shall be thy children now Whom thou well may'st great Prince maâ—â— in all the earth below verse 17 Thy name I 'll in all ages make remembred well to be Therefore for ever and for ay the people shall praise thee PSAL. XLVI TH' Almighty God is our refuge and strength by which we stanâ— In trouble and adversitie a present help at hand verse 2 Therefore we will not fear though that the earth removed be And though the mountaines carri'd all be in the deepest sea verse 3 Though thereof the great waters roar and troubled motions make Thogh with the swelling great thereof the mountains hudge do shake verse 4 A river is whose streams shall make Gods citie glade to be The Tabernacles holy place of him who is most Hie. verse 5 God is ev'n in the midst of her she shall not moved be God in great mercy shall her help this early do shall he verse 6 The heathen rag'd the Kingdomes were all mov'd without delay His voice with such force uttred he the earth did melt away verse 7 The Lord of Hostes is still with us us to defend and judge The mightie GOD of Jacob is in danger our refuge verse 8 Come and behold what wondroâ— works the LORD to passe hath brought What desolations in the earth he in his wrath hath wrought verse 9 To the earths end he maketh wars to cease as men desire He breaks the bow and cuts the speâ— and chariots burns with fire verse 10 Be still and know that GOD I aâ— I will exalted be Among the heathen in the earth I 'le be exalted hie verse 11 The LORD of hosts is still with us to defend and judge The mighty God of Jacob is in danger our refuge PSALME XLVII O All ye people of the earth your hands clap and rejoice Shout unto GOD most chearfullie with a triumphing voice verse 2 For lo the LORD most High alwayes is terrible to see Ov'r all the kingdomes of the earth a great King sure is he verse 3 He wicked people under us his goodnesse for to shew Shall with the nations most profane under our feet subdue verse 4 He shall for our inheritance chuse which none shall remove Of Jacob the excellencie whom he did ever love verse 5 GOD with a shout of Majestie to be gone up is found The LORD is by his people heard ev'n with a Trumpets sound verse 6 To God sing praises with your heâ— unto him praises sing Sing praises both with heart and voicâ— sing praises to our King verse 7 For the great God of all the earth is only King and Lord All they that understanding have sing praise with one accord verse 8 God o're the heathen all doth reigâ— God highly sits upon Of his most perfect holinesse the fair and statelie throne verse 9 The Princes of the people all together as we see Are gathred even the people of Abrahams GOD most hie For certainely of all the earth the shields to God belong He greatly all the Sons of men exalted is among PSAL. LVIII O Congregation do ye still speak righteousnesse indeed O sons of men do ye to judge still uprightly proceed verse 2 Yea in your heart great wickednesse you work in every way And of your hands here in the earth the violence you weigh verse 3 The wicked are ev'n from the womb estrang'd before our eyes They go astray assoone as they be born still speaking lyes verse 4 Most like a serpents poison is the poison that they bear They are even like the adder deaf that stoppeth fast his ear verse 5 Which to the voice of charmers not hearken readilie Though never so wisely they appear in charming for to be verse 6 Break thou O God now in thâ— moâ— their teeth both sharp and stronâ— O Lord the great teeth now break â— of Lions that are yong verse 7 As waters run continuallie so let them melt and fall When as he bends his bow to shooâ— cut them in pieces small verse 8 As melts a snail let ev'ry one of them consumed be Like the untimely birth that they the sun may never see verse 9 Before your pots can feel the thoâ— he shall them all by death As with a whirle wind take away both living and in wrath verse 10 The righteous shal rejoice when thus sees the vengeance meet He in the blood of wicked men shall surely wash his feet verse 11 So verilie a man shall say the just rewarded be Yea verily who in the earth doth judge a God is he PSAL. XCIII THe Lord doth reigne he clothed is with Majestie throughout The LORD is cloth'd with strength wherwith he girds himself about The world also fast stablish'd is that it can not depart verse 2 Thy Throne of old is fix'd for thou from everlasting art verse 3 The floods have lifted up O LORD the flowing floods their voice Have lifted up the floods their waves lift up even with a noise verse 4 The Lord on high more mighty is then any noise can be Of waters great yea then the waves most mighty of the sea verse 5 Thy Testimonies of great worth are very sure together True holinesse thy house O LORD becometh still for ever PSAL. XCIV O LORD to whom vengeance for wroÌ„gs belongs ev'n as most due O GOD to whom vengeance belongs thy self now clearly shew verse 2 Lift up thy self thou of the earth the great Judge to regard Deservedly unto the proud now render a reward verse 3 Most mighty LORD how long shall they that alwayes wicked be How long shall wicked men on earth triumph so gloriouslie verse 4 How long shal those men utter thus and speak hard things so free And all those proudly boast themselves that worke iniquitie verse 5 LORD they in pieces break thy folk and heritage distresse verse 6 They widow and the stranger slay and murder fatherlesse verse 7 Yet they say in their foolishnesse the Lord this shall not see Nor by the God of Jacob shall it once regarded be verse 8 Among the people understand ye brutish and likewise Ye fools that nothing can conceive O when will ye be wise verse 9 Shall he that planted hath the ear not heare how all things be He that also the eye hath form'd shall he himself not see verse 10 He that the heathen doth chastise shall he not chastise now He that man knowledge teacheth still shall he himself not know verse 11 The Lord the thoghts of mortal man doth know most certainlie That in their greatest worth they are nothing but vanitie verse 12 Blest is the man O Lord whom thou by chastning keeps in aw And also clearely teachest him out of thy holie law verse 13 That thou may give him rest from dayeâ— of great adversitie Vntill that for the wicked man the pit deep digged be verse 14 For now the LORD his people aâ— will not cast off together Nor will hee his inheritance in wrath forsake for ever verse 15 But judgement unto righteousnesse returne most quicklie shall And those that be in heart upright shall it still follow all verse 16 Who up for me will rise against those that ill doers be Or who for me ' gainst those will stand that work iniquitie verse 17 Unlesse the Lord had been to mee a help as I have felt My soul with trouble vexed had almost in silence dwelt verse 18 When I said that my foot did slip thy mercy held me right verse 19 Thy comforts in my many thoughts do still my soul delight verse 20 Shall thus of great iniquitie the throne without all aw Have fellowship with thee Which frames mischief ev'n by a law verse 21 Themselves together gather they against the souls of men That righteous are and al 's the blood of innocent condemne verse 22 But yet the Lord still by his might is my defence alway And my GOD is the solid Rock of my refuge for ay verse 23 He on them their own sin shal bring and them cut off he shall In their own wickednesse our GOD shall cut them off in all PSAL. CXV LOrd not to us not unto us but unto thy name take Great glory for thy stedfast truth and for thy mercies sake verse 2 Wherefore should new the heath 〈◊〉 where is their God alone But our God's in the heav'ns he hath what ever he pleased done Their idols silver are and gold workes of mens hands they be They have mouths made but can not speak and eyes but they not see Of ears they have the shape but they hear not what men do tell They noses formed also have but there with cannot smell They hands have but they handle not and feet but cannot walk A throat they have but throgh it they can no way speak or talk To those vain things they are most like that in their wayes unjust Them make ev'n so is every one that into them doth trust verse 9 Trust thou O Israel in the Lord their help and shield that be verse 10 Trust in the Lord O A'rons house their help and shield is he verse 11 Ye that do fear the living Lord trust in the Lord alway He is their strong help and their shield that still upon him stay verse 12 The Lord of us hath mindfull been he sure will blesse us still He will blesse Israls house the house of Aaron blesse he will verse 13 He wil them blesse that fear the Lord and that both great and small verse 14 God shal increase you more more you and your children all verse 15 You all that have an upright heart are blessed of the Lord Which both the heav'n al 's the earth made by his mighty word verse 16 The heav'n ye ev'n the heav'ns above are all the Lords by right But to the sons of men he hath the earth giv'n by his might verse 17 The dead in grave can in no way praise give the Lord unto Nor any whatsoever that down into 〈◊〉 go But we the mighty Lord above will blesse with one accord â—om this time forth for evermore most gladly praise the Lord. CXLIX PRaise ye the Lord Sing to the Lord a new and pleasant song And in the congregation great praise him his Saints among verse 2 Let Israel in his Maker still rejoice and also sing Let all that Zions children are be joyfull in their King Let them all chearfull in the dance praise his name who 's our King â— them with timbrell with harp unto him praises sing For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people as we see â—e meek with his salvation still he will all beautifie Let all the Saints in glory be most ioyfull in their heart â— them all chearfull sing aloud upon their beds apart Of GOD let the high praises be in their mouth through the land â—â—d a two edged sword most sharp still ready in their hand â—o execute vengeance severe upon the heathen all â—nd al 's to make great punishments upon the people fall With chains so strong their mightie kings to bind most sure at last And al 's the Nobles of their land with yrons fetters fast verse 9 On them the iudgement t' execute that 's written in his word This honour high have all his Saints praise ye therefore the LORD PSAL.
