in_o his_o whole_a book_n his_o four_o and_o last_o argument_n or_o defence_n of_o his_o cause_n which_o he_o think_v so_o strong_a that_o it_o need_v not_o the_o assistance_n of_o any_o other_o i_o must_v be_v restrain_v by_o law_n because_o by_o either_o of_o these_o the_o commonwealth_n may_v be_v damnify_v and_o our_o mutual_a peace_n disturb_v so_o in_o all_o concern_v of_o religion_n there_o be_v not_o nor_o can_v be_v any_o restraint_n upon_o our_o thought_n so_o long_o as_o we_o keep_v they_o within_o our_o own_o breast_n but_o if_o they_o show_v themselves_o in_o word_n or_o action_n contrary_a to_o the_o law_n of_o the_o church_n because_o the_o unity_n of_o the_o church_n and_o consequent_o of_o the_o state_n be_v endanger_v and_o man_n eternal_a salvation_n hazard_v by_o the_o propagation_n of_o false_a religion_n therefore_o penalty_n be_v absolute_o necessary_a to_o restrain_v man_n word_n and_o action_n in_o matter_n of_o religion_n as_o well_o as_o in_o any_o other_o affair_n whatsoever_o last_o as_o no_o further_a use_n of_o reason_n be_v or_o can_v be_v allow_v to_o every_o man_n in_o any_o commonwealth_n in_o those_o thing_n which_o be_v determine_v by_o law_n but_o only_o so_o far_o as_o to_o judge_v whether_o he_o can_v or_o will_v obey_v they_o or_o whether_o he_o will_v suffer_v the_o penalty_n of_o they_o so_o no_o other_o liberty_n can_v
