â§_o by_o the_o king_n â§_o a_o proclamation_n concern_v the_o bring_n in_o of_o whale-finne_n into_o his_o majesty_n dominion_n etc._n etc._n as_o we_o conceive_v it_o can_v be_v construe_v by_o any_o our_o do_n or_o proceed_n that_o we_o be_v carry_v with_o any_o ambitious_a or_o unjust_a appetite_n to_o covet_v that_o which_o appertain_v to_o other_o so_o it_o shall_v be_v always_o our_o desire_n and_o resolution_n to_o nourish_v and_o maintain_v the_o happy_a estate_n of_o our_o love_a subject_n and_o the_o honour_n of_o our_o kingdom_n not_o only_o in_o the_o same_o degree_n in_o the_o which_o we_o have_v receive_v they_o but_o likewise_o with_o that_o increase_n and_o advancement_n whereof_o the_o providence_n of_o almighty_a god_n by_o just_a occasion_n shall_v put_v mean_n and_o opportunity_n into_o our_o hand_n and_o in_o nothing_o more_o next_o unto_o the_o true_a worship_n of_o god_n and_o the_o administration_n of_o justice_n then_o in_o the_o maintenance_n and_o increase_n of_o navigation_n wherein_o our_o kingdom_n both_o by_o situation_n strength_n of_o ship_v skill_n of_o narriner_n value_n of_o commander_n at_o sea_n and_o many_o honourable_a discovery_n and_o exploit_n have_v for_o long_a time_n and_o more_o and_o more_o of_o late_a time_n flourish_v and_o whereas_o our_o company_n of_o merchant_n for_o the_o discovery_n of_o new_a trade_n common_o call_v the_o muscovia_n company_n have_v with_o their_o great_a cost_n and_o charge_n of_o late_a yceres_n discover_v a_o land_n which_o they_o call_v by_o the_o name_n of_o king_n james_n his_o newland_n to_o the_o increase_n of_o navigation_n and_o mariner_n and_o have_v further_o by_o their_o care_n and_o industry_n enter_v into_o a_o trade_n of_o fish_v for_o the_o whale_n and_o procure_v biscainer_n skilful_a in_o strike_v the_o whale_n teach_v and_o instruct_v the_o english_a nation_n therein_o and_o whereas_o a_o principal_a part_n of_o the_o bevefit_n of_o the_o whale-fishing_a consist_v in_o the_o commodity_n of_o whale-finne_n import_v into_o our_o kingdom_n and_o that_o experience_n already_o show_v that_o our_o own_o subject_n in_o their_o return_n from_o that_o fish_n be_v able_a to_o furnish_v and_o serve_v our_o kingdom_n with_o sufficient_a quantity_n for_o the_o use_n of_o our_o love_a subject_n it_o be_v also_o a_o matter_n of_o deliracie_n &_o rather_o to_o be_v consider_v as_o it_o may_v concern_v navigation_n then_o in_o itself_o we_o have_v therefore_o think_v fit_a for_o the_o better_a encouragement_n of_o the_o say_a company_n and_o other_o our_o subject_n in_o service_n of_o like_a nature_n to_o prohibit_v all_o alien_n and_o stranger_n and_o also_o our_o own_o subject_n except_o the_o say_v muscovia_n merchank_n &_o that_o in_o their_o joint_a stock_n to_o bring_v hereafter_o into_o any_o our_o kingdom_n the_o say_a commodity_n wherefore_o we_o do_v by_o these_o present_n strait_o and_o express_o forbid_v and_o prohibit_v all_o alien_n and_o stranger_n whatsoever_o and_o also_o all_o our_o own_o subject_n other_o than_o the_o say_a muscovia_n merchant_n and_o that_o in_o their_o joint_a stock_n to_o bring_v into_o any_o our_o kingdom_n and_o dominion_n any_o whale-finne_n upon_o pain_n of_o confiscation_n of_o the_o same_o and_o of_o our_o high_a indignation_n and_o displeasure_n and_o of_o such_o further_a punishment_n as_o shall_v be_v meet_a to_o be_v inflict_v upon_o the_o offender_n for_o their_o contempt_n in_o that_o behalf_n and_o we_o do_v further_o hereby_o charge_n and_o require_v all_o our_o customer_n comptroller_n searcher_n &_o other_o officer_n and_o also_o the_o farmer_n of_o our_o custom_n and_o their_o minister_n careful_o to_o attend_v every_o one_o in_o their_o several_a duty_n the_o execution_n of_o this_o our_o royal_a proclamation_n and_o in_o no_o wise_a to_o permit_v or_o suffer_v any_o whale-finne_n either_o direct_o or_o indirect_o open_o or_o private_o to_o be_v bring_v into_o the_o port_n or_o other_o place_n of_o any_o of_o our_o kingdom_n and_o in_o case_n any_o be_v bring_v in_o the_o same_o to_o seize_v to_o our_o use_n and_o by_o all_o other_o mean_v to_o find_v out_o and_o inform_v of_o all_o offence_n tend_v to_o the_o breach_n of_o this_o our_o royal_a proclamation_n give_v at_o wansted_n the_o eleven_o day_n of_o september_n in_o the_o twelve_o year_n of_o our_o reign_n of_o great_a britain_n france_n and_o ireland_n 1614_o god_n save_o the_o king_n â§_o imprint_v at_o london_n by_o robert_n barker_n printer_n to_o the_o king_n most_o excellent_a majesty_n anno_fw-la dom._n 1614_o
