concern_v not_o i_o it_o be_v enough_o as_o to_o my_o present_a purpose_n that_o they_o may_v be_v comprehend_v under_o that_o phrase_n all_o nation_n i_o shall_v therefore_o only_o say_v that_o i_o can_v but_o conceive_v that_o will_v man_n judge_v impartial_o suppose_v we_o shall_v grant_v that_o they_o in_o this_o commission_n of_o christ_n do_v refer_v to_o disciple_n and_o not_o to_o nation_n and_o consequent_o that_o disciple_n be_v the_o proper_a subject_n of_o baptism_n yet_o they_o must_v acknowledge_v that_o what_o have_v be_v say_v by_o other_o to_o prove_v that_o infant_n as_o for_o that_o assertion_n that_o this_o institution_n or_o commission_n be_v to_o be_v understand_v exclusive_o and_o consequent_o that_o none_o be_v to_o be_v baptize_v but_o such_o who_o baptism_n be_v in_o express_a term_n warrant_v by_o it_o i_o shall_v only_o say_v it_o be_v true_a we_o ought_v so_o to_o understand_v it_o in_o case_n we_o have_v no_o other_o scripture_n for_o our_o direction_n in_o the_o administration_n of_o baptism_n but_o take_v this_o commission_n or_o institution_n absolute_o in_o itself_o and_o the_o not_o include_v infant_n in_o it_o be_v not_o a_o exclude_v of_o they_o out_o of_o it_o we_o see_v here_o christ_n speak_v immediate_o and_o direct_o to_o his_o disciple_n go_v you_o therefore_o etc._n etc._n none_o beside_o they_o be_v express_o include_v in_o it_o and_o shall_v we_o say_v therefore_o that_o this_o gommission_n only_o concern_v they_o sure_o no_o it_o be_v a_o commission_n for_o all_o that_o at_o that_o time_n or_o in_o grant_v on_o all_o hand_n so_o that_o shall_v we_o grant_v that_o they_o be_v to_o be_v refer_v to_o disciple_n include_v in_o that_o verb_n and_o that_o infant_n be_v not_o scripture_n disciple_n neither_o of_o which_o notwithstanding_o all_o that_o be_v say_v by_o our_o opposer_n be_v grant_v our_o proposition_n may_v stand_v firm_a for_o though_o infant_n be_v not_o express_o include_v in_o the_o commission_n yet_o they_o be_v not_o exclude_v out_o of_o it_o therefore_o their_o baptism_n must_v stand_v or_o fall_v by_o the_o evidence_n of_o other_o scripture_n and_o we_o have_v sufficient_a evidence_n from_o other_o scripture_n that_o it_o be_v the_o will_n of_o christ_n that_o they_o shall_v be_v baptize_v their_o not_o be_v express_o mention_v in_o the_o commission_n aught_o to_o be_v no_o remora_n in_o the_o way_n of_o our_o thankful_a embracement_n of_o what_o light_n he_o have_v elsewhere_o give_v of_o his_o mind_n and_o will_n in_o this_o matter_n object_n 3._o there_o be_v a_o objection_n or_o argument_n which_o some_o seem_v to_o conceive_v to_o have_v a_o very_a great_a strength_n in_o it_o yea_o to_o be_v unanswerable_a which_o be_v carry_v on_o gradual_o to_o this_o issue_n say_v the_o framer_n of_o it_o see_v there_o be_v no_o express_a command_n require_v the_o baptism_n of_o infant_n the_o practice_n must_v needs_o be_v deduce_v only_o in_o a_o consequential_a way_n from_o the_o scripture_n now_o to_o prove_v that_o it_o can_v be_v right_o and_o due_o deduce_v from_o any_o scripture_n in_o a_o consequential_a way_n so_o as_o that_o the_o omission_n of_o it_o shall_v be_v a_o sin_n in_o the_o parent_n and_o their_o sin_n it_o must_v be_v if_o it_o be_v a_o sin_n at_o all_o against_o any_o law_n of_o christ_n it_o be_v thus_o argue_v if_o the_o omission_n or_o neglect_n of_o the_o baptism_n of_o infant_n be_v a_o sin_n chargeable_a upon_o their_o parent_n as_o be_v a_o transgression_n of_o some_o divine_a law_n than_o some_o one_o or_o other_o at_o one_o time_n or_o other_o will_v in_o scripture_n have_v be_v commend_v for_o the_o practice_n of_o it_o or_o blame_v for_o the_o neglect_n of_o it_o but_o no_o one_o ghost_n shall_v record_v the_o baptism_n of_o whole_a household_n take_v notice_n only_o of_o the_o faith_n and_o repentance_n of_o the_o parent_n without_o give_v the_o least_o intimation_n of_o the_o faith_n and_o repentance_n of_o any_o in_o or_o of_o such_o household_n thereby_o give_v so_o clear_a a_o ground_n of_o mistake_n in_o case_n none_o under_o the_o new_a testament_n and_o conversion_n of_o each_o be_v necessary_a to_o their_o baptism_n but_o not_o so_o in_o respect_n of_o the_o house_n of_o believe_a parent_n but_o that_o be_v for_o these_o instance_n as_o take_v abstract_o in_o themselves_o but_o now_o compare_v one_o thing_n with_o another_o and_o the_o evidence_n be_v vast_o more_o clear_a for_o as_o consider_v what_o have_v be_v say_v to_o prove_v the_o interest_n of_o the_o infant-seed_n of_o believe_a parent_n in_o the_o covenant_n and_o promise_v thereof_o and_o what_o have_v be_v say_v to_o evidence_n a_o right_a to_o baptism_n to_o be_v of_o equal_a extent_n to_o interest_n in_o the_o covenant_n and_o promise_v thereof_o it_o be_v undeniable_a to_o i_o and_o i_o can_v hardly_o think_v but_o it_o will_v be_v so_o to_o other_o who_o will_v free_o entertain_v light_n when_o hold_v forth_o unto_o they_o that_o these_o household_n be_v baptize_v as_o the_o house_n of_o such_o parent_n upon_o the_o account_n of_o their_o interest_n in_o the_o covenant_n so_o on_o the_o other_o hand_n when_o we_o see_v what_o have_v be_v before_o say_v concern_v the_o interest_n of_o believe_a parent_n in_o the_o covenant_n and_o concern_v their_o right_n to_o baptism_n upon_o that_o account_n and_o then_o find_v whole_a household_n baptize_v and_o that_o so_o very_o probable_o to_o say_v no_o more_o as_o the_o house_n of_o such_o parent_n it_o may_v much_o more_o strong_o persuade_v we_o of_o that_o their_o interest_n in_o the_o covenant_n and_o promise_v thereof_o and_o of_o their_o right_n to_o the_o sign_n and_o token_n of_o the_o covenant_n but_o let_v that_o suffice_v for_o the_o proof_n of_o our_o three_o subordinate_a proposition_n what_o objection_n the_o truth_n we_o have_v contend_v for_o will_v meet_v with_o from_o the_o contrary_n mind_v shall_v now_o be_v consider_v chap._n xi_o objection_n against_o the_o last_o proposition_n answer_v the_o conclusion_n of_o the_o whole_a object_n 1._o notwithstanding_o all_o
