in_o the_o article_n make_v upon_o the_o surrender_n of_o the_o city_n and_o garrison_n of_o exeter_n bearing_z date_n the_o eight_o of_o april_n 1646._o and_o afterward_o confirm_v by_o parliament_n by_o the_o the_o twelve_o of_o which_o say_v article_n it_o be_v agree_v that_o no_o person_n therein_o comprise_v shall_v be_v question_v or_o accountable_a for_o any_o act_n pass_v by_o they_o do_v or_o any_o other_o do_v by_o their_o procurement_n relate_v unto_o the_o un_o happy_a difference_n betwixt_o the_o late_a king_n and_o the_o parliament_n they_o submit_v themselves_o to_o reasonable_a and_o moderate_a composition_n for_o their_o estate_n which_o the_o then_o general_a sir_n thomas_n fairfax_n be_v real_o to_o endeavour_v with_o the_o parliament_n that_o it_o shall_v not_o exceed_v two_o year_n value_v of_o any_o man_n real_a estate_n respective_o and_o for_o personal_a according_a to_o the_o ordinary_a rule_n not_o exceed_v the_o proportion_n aforesaid_a which_o composition_n and_o require_v to_o permit_v the_o say_a sir_n john_n stawell_n to_o compound_v for_o his_o whole_a estate_n as_o aforesaid_a and_o in_o respect_n of_o those_o great_a loss_n and_o extreme_a damage_n which_o the_o say_a petitioner_n have_v sustain_v by_o the_o sequestration_n and_o detention_n of_o his_o estate_n and_o the_o profit_n receive_v out_o of_o the_o same_o for_o above_o seven_o year_n last_o pass_v and_o by_o the_o fell_n of_o his_o wood_n and_o timber_n and_o otherwise_o for_o want_v of_o be_v admit_v to_o a_o timely_a composition_n this_o court_n do_v order_n and_o direct_v that_o the_o say_a commissioner_n for_o compound_v do_v cause_n a_o exact_a account_n to_o be_v make_v of_o the_o rent_n issue_n and_o profit_n receive_v for_o or_o out_o of_o the_o petitioner_n estate_n since_o he_o first_o submit_v to_o composition_n and_o be_v not_o admit_v thereunto_o and_o do_v recommend_v to_o their_o consideration_n the_o proof_n thereof_o already_o take_v in_o this_o cause_n copy_n whereof_o attest_v by_o the_o register_n of_o this_o court_n be_v for_o that_o purpose_n to_o be_v present_v to_o they_o and_o if_o the_o say_a commissioner_n shall_v find_v the_o petitioner_n and_o if_o any_o surplusage_n or_o overplus_n remain_v the_o say_a commissioner_n for_o compound_v be_v hereby_o order_v and_o desire_v to_o certify_v the_o same_o unto_o this_o court_n and_o upon_o such_o computation_n &_o satisfaction_n make_v as_o aforesaid_a the_o say_a commissioner_n be_v hereby_o direct_v and_o authorize_v to_o give_v their_o order_n for_o such_o acceptance_n john_n stawell_n shall_v have_v the_o liberty_n and_o indemnity_n of_o his_o person_n free_a from_o any_o further_a restraint_n or_o imprisonment_n according_a to_o the_o true_a meaning_n of_o his_o say_a article_n and_o that_o all_o bail_n or_o other_o security_n enter_v into_o by_o the_o say_a petitioner_n or_o any_o other_o person_n with_o or_o for_o he_o touch_v his_o true_a imprisonment_n gorges_n and_o every_o of_o they_o and_o all_o other_o who_o be_v or_o may_v be_v any_o way_n herein_o concern_v be_v upon_o notice_n hereof_o to_o give_v their_o observance_n hereunto_o according_o and_o it_o be_v last_o order_v and_o declare_v that_o the_o petitioner_n bring_v the_o present_a cause_n to_o hear_v against_o the_o aforenamed_a defendant_n shall_v be_v no_o bar_n to_o he_o to_o or_o forfeit_v the_o benefit_n of_o his_o say_a article_n which_o we_o find_v to_o be_v approve_v by_o the_o then_o house_n of_o commons_o the_o six_o of_o may_n 1646._o and_o by_o both_o house_n of_o parliament_n the_o four_o of_o november_n 1647._o who_o order_v that_o approbation_n of_o they_o to_o be_v publish_v and_o all_o committee_n judge_n officer_n and_o other_o person_n concern_v to_o take_v notice_n thereof_o and_o observe_v the_o same_o any_o order_n or_o ordinance_n to_o the_o contrary_a notwithstanding_o that_o since_o his_o say_a submit_v to_o compound_v the_o profit_n
