heart_n be_v deceitful_a know_v both_o the_o ugliness_n and_o danger_n of_o they_o then_o repent_v of_o they_o be_v humble_v for_o they_o crave_v pardon_v hearty_o unfeigned_o seek_v to_o mortify_v they_o apply_v the_o edge_n of_o the_o word_n against_o they_o even_o any_o thing_n we_o read_v or_o hear_v out_o of_o the_o scripture_n to_o this_o purpose_n apply_v also_o the_o benefit_n of_o god_n be_v reconcile_v but_o break_v out_o into_o bitter_a speech_n so_o be_v so_o covetous_a so_o lazy_a also_o in_o goodness_n that_o either_o we_o neglect_v duty_n whole_o or_o slight_v it_o over_o careless_o fleshly_a lust_n hereby_o be_v yet_o further_o mean_v all_o evil_a thought_n and_o the_o least_o rebel_n of_o this_o nature_n of_o we_o against_o the_o holy_a commandment_n of_o god_n these_o be_v fruit_n of_o this_o concupiscence_n and_o evil_a nature_n of_o we_o ourselves_o and_o of_o the_o flesh_n and_o be_v sin_n against_o god_n but_o here_o know_v that_o evil_a thought_n be_v of_o two_o kind_n 1._o such_o as_o be_v cast_v in_o by_o satan_n as_o into_o judas_n 2._o such_o as_o arise_v from_o our_o own_o corrupt_a nature_n as_o christ_n say_v to_o his_o disciple_n why_o do_v thought_n arise_v in_o your_o heart_n for_o the_o former_a they_o either_o fasten_v upon_o our_o nature_n and_o tarry_v to_o tickle_v we_o with_o a_o kind_n of_o pleasure_n or_o else_o be_v immediate_o cast_v out_o with_o deep_a detestation_n if_o they_o tarry_v never_o so_o little_a to_o parley_v with_o our_o corrupt_a nature_n they_o be_v our_o sin_n as_o well_o as_o satan_n but_o if_o cast_v out_o immediate_o they_o be_v not_o then_o be_v they_o our_o cross_n not_o our_o sin_n but_o the_o devil_n and_o shall_v also_o be_v lay_v to_o his_o charge_n not_o we_o for_o so_o he_o cast_v in_o thought_n into_o our_o saviour_n christ_n mind_n of_o distrust_n presumption_n idolatry_n etc._n etc._n but_o they_o fasten_v not_o at_o all_o on_o his_o nature_n therefore_o he_o be_v never_o not_o only_o with_o fear_n but_o even_o drive_v they_o almost_o to_o despair_v make_v they_o weary_a of_o their_o life_n that_o they_o can_v wish_v themselves_o as_o far_o under_o ground_n as_o they_o exceed_o concern_v this_o state_n we_o must_v know_v it_o come_v to_o pass_v by_o god_n providence_n and_o permission_n to_o satan_n thus_o to_o torment_v they_o the_o cause_n may_v be_v either_o to_o humble_v they_o to_o repentance_n for_o some_o coldness_n or_o slackness_n they_o be_v fall_v into_o in_o the_o worship_n of_o god_n satan_n and_o their_o course_n which_o god_n thus_o punish_v or_o else_o he_o punish_v the_o barrenness_n of_o their_o heart_n and_o idleness_n of_o their_o mind_n that_o care_v not_o how_o they_o spend_v away_o their_o time_n they_o their_o mind_n rove_a flesh_n but_o our_o conversation_n must_v be_v spiritual_a holy_a according_a to_o the_o law_n of_o our_o country_n zealous_a fervent_a pure_a chaste_a innocent_a merciful_a patient_a godly_a and_o the_o like_a to_o love_n fear_v trust_v in_o god_n worship_v he_o delight_n in_o his_o word_n and_o saint_n these_o be_v the_o fashion_n of_o heaven_n our_o country_n therefore_o these_o we_o must_v evil_n for_o a_o man_n then_o go_v on_o his_o journey_n to_o heaven_n when_o he_o awake_v with_o god_n in_o the_o morning_n assoon_o as_o it_o be_v convenient_a go_v to_o prayer_n then_o to_o his_o call_n in_o faith_n and_o through_o the_o day_n neglect_v no_o spiritual_a duty_n much_o less_o run_v into_o evil_n of_o any_o kind_n but_o walk_v on_o upright_o and_o with_o a_o good_a conscience_n use_v the_o world_n as_o if_o he_o use_v it_o not_o 31._o such_o as_o regard_v not_o these_o have_v no_o meaning_n to_o come_v to_o heaven_n for_o how_o shall_v they_o come_v there_o as_o man_n can_v and_o few_o find_v it_o most_o never_o ask_v the_o way_n but_o go_v on_o at_o a_o venture_n if_o they_o be_v in_o the_o way_n so_o it_o be_v if_o not_o they_o shall_v shift_v as_o well_o as_o other_o and_o most_o please_v themselves_o that_o they_o be_v in_o without_o ask_v the_o way_n as_o if_o it_o be_v a_o very_a hard_a matter_n to_o miss_v the_o way_n to_o heaven_n and_o which_o but_o few_o do_v miss_v 5._o pilgrim_n will_v in_o a_o long_a dangerous_a way_n through_o a_o wilderness_n where_o the_o path_n be_v narrow_a where_o there_o be_v many_o by_o path_n little_a company_n to_o beat_v carelessness_n of_o some_o christian_n that_o walk_v so_o lose_o and_o lie_v so_o open_a as_o the_o wicked_a have_v their_o will_n even_o matter_n enough_o to_o talk_v of_o their_o covetousness_n of_o their_o wonderful_a impatience_n and_o the_o like_a such_o have_v need_n to_o repent_v much_o and_o by_o the_o contrary_a to_o labour_v by_o their_o well-doing_n to_o stop_v their_o mouth_n which_o they_o have_v just_o open_v against_o religion_n and_o the_o professor_n thereof_o o_o how_o far_o be_v some_o to_o blame_v who_o by_o too_o severe_a and_o sudden_a censure_v cause_n many_o to_o loathe_v the_o professor_n of_o the_o word_n as_o if_o they_o be_v all_o such_o proud_a fellow_n thereof_o and_o do_v condemn_v all_o but_o themselves_o o_o its_o good_a to_o have_v charity_n yet_o mortal_a thing_n so_o the_o wicked_a make_v a_o sport_n of_o sin_n he_o be_v a_o fool_n that_o be_v condemn_v of_o treason_n and_o yet_o in_o possibility_n to_o get_v a_o pardon_n defer_v to_o sue_v for_o it_o till_o it_o be_v too_o late_a such_o be_v the_o wicked_a that_o put_v off_o their_o repentance_n he_o be_v a_o fool_n that_o will_v laugh_v be_v in_o extreme_a danger_n or_o be_v tell_v he_o be_v go_v to_o execution_n do_v jest_n at_o it_o yea_o if_o it_o be_v but_o to_o the_o stock_n or_o house_n of_o correction_n yet_o thus_o do_v the_o wicked_a every_o day_n go_v near_o and_o who_o upon_o this_o ground_n acknowledge_v that_o david_n be_v more_o righteous_a than_o he_o 1._o this_o rebuke_v the_o common_a sort_n of_o servant_n 1_o which_o if_o they_o meet_v with_o a_o their_o business_n and_o keep_v in_o with_o the_o licentious_a youth_n of_o these_o day_n will_v be_v count_v unreasonable_a but_o grant_v they_o be_v somewhat_o unreasonable_a see_v whether_o you_o by_o your_o negligence_n crossness_n and_o unfaithfulness_n have_v not_o make_v they_o so_o as_o some_o do_v if_o so_o you_o can_v do_v little_a if_o you_o can_v bear_v what_o you_o have_v deserve_v but_o say_v they_o be_v unreasonable_a and_o you_o have_v not_o deserve_v all_o you_o meet_v with_o yet_o for_o all_o that_o it_o be_v your_o duty_n to_o remember_v your_o place_n you_o must_v not_o procure_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o envy_n and_o ill_a speech_n and_o many_o censure_n upon_o themselves_o many_o maid_n also_o of_o small_a portion_n deck_v themselves_o beyond_o their_o degree_n as_o that_o no_o man_n of_o wisdom_n or_o that_o be_v careful_a to_o live_v dare_v meddle_v with_o they_o and_o so_o where_o they_o may_v have_v be_v honest_o and_o well_o bestow_v if_o they_o have_v go_v it_o be_v still_o new_a and_o last_v so_o long_o as_o they_o be_v still_o able_a to_o do_v good_a but_o now_o it_o be_v both_o costly_a and_o almost_o every_o day_n put_v on_o wear_v out_o apace_o the_o buy_n of_o such_o slight_a stuff_n and_o change_v their_o fashion_n so_o often_o be_v very_o chargeable_a beside_o that_o this_o hinder_v one_o great_a good_a that_o ought_v to_o be_v and_o that_o come_v of_o old_a apparel_n namely_o to_o clothe_v the_o poor_a saint_n and_o member_n of_o christ_n now_o most_o wear_v such_o thin_a slight_a stuff_n as_o that_o they_o be_v quick_o in_o piece_n and_o not_o fit_a to_o keep_v a_o poor_a body_n warm_a it_o cause_v also_o much_o evil_n rack_a of_o rent_n enhance_a of_o fine_n in_o great_a person_n oppression_n in_o farmer_n in_o shopkeeper_n falsehood_n deceit_n swear_v and_o all_o to_o hold_v up_o bravery_n yea_o it_o cause_v also_o lust_n in_o the_o wearer_n and_o provoke_v it_o in_o other_o see_v then_o that_o excess_n in_o apparel_n be_v so_o dangerous_a and_o prejudicial_a use._n let_v all_o such_o as_o be_v faulty_a this_o way_n endeavour_v to_o see_v their_o folly_n and_o silliness_n herein_o and_o according_o reform_v themselves_o and_o for_o those_o that_o be_v modest_o attire_v let_v they_o so_o continue_v thus_o shall_v they_o bewray_v more_o virtue_n in_o their_o mind_n have_v more_o time_n to_o serve_v god_n and_o have_v better_a ability_n to_o do_v good_a upon_o every_o occasion_n with_o more_o peace_n to_o their_o conscience_n here_o i_o may_v add_v such_o defence_n as_o some_o woman_n make_v answer_v 1._o say_v they_o 1._o we_o be_v not_o proud_a though_o we_o delight_v to_o set_v out_o ourselves_o in_o apparel_n as_o other_o do_v we_o be_v as_o humble_a as_o other_o and_o so_o
